2023 Michigan Football Captains

The team has picked captains for 2023

2 OL and a RB for our offense captains. If that doesn't say something about our team identity I don't know what does.

I wonder if this new rule had anything to do with 2 captains quitting on their teammates and transferring mid-season last year.  I'm sure Harbaugh wanted to minimize any chance of that bullshit happening again, and I can't blame him.  This looks like the last year of college football for all of these captains, and I can't imagine any of them pulling that crap.

Say whatever you want about NIL, but it can/does give kids a motivation to come back instead of leaving early for the league.  Can think of several guys that were late round or undrafted free agents that could have come back for another year had this opportunity been in place.

Whoa.. I don’t know what to say.  This is such an illustration of everything that’s wrong with Michigan football.   (Yes, a degree of sarcasm.)

Three star prospects.  All they do is.. buckle down.. train hard… attend class and do well.. bust their behinds in off season S&C - listen to their position coaches - develop - guide younger players on the roster - support each other - adjust and execute - and make a difference on Saturdays.

Other teams can brag about their talent level… this squad is fantastic.

Congratulations to each and every one of the captains - as well as every player on the roster.

I wouldn’t change a thing.

The fact that they're all (lead by example) veterans says a lot, not to mention being chosen by your peers. That speaks to the teams identity. I'm thinking more and more this will be the year, as long as JJ stays healthy and opponents can't pick on CB2, we're rock solid.

My favorite part of this graphic is the poses. I want to be in the meeting* that settled on this graphic.

"Alright, we've got six captains; three on offense and three on defense. I guess that means we need a 3 x 2 photo layout. But we can't just use basic headshots. We need something dynamic."

"How about two different poses. We'll have our star running back, eternal warrior, and all around defensive terror stare away from the camera it an ambiguous the middle distance, while the offensive linemen and hero of the Horseshoe give us a saucy over-the-shoulder look."

"That's gold, Jerry, gold! Send it to print!"

*I know, I know, the most likely explanation is that a social media intern pumped this out based on a list

If you just read media reports and tried to glean who the LEADERS on this team are, you'd come up with most, if not all, of the six captains.

Great choices, every one of them.
