It does seem unreasonable to expect the University of Michigan to fire their AD soon after winning the national championship in football - the ultimate achievement for our program. Short of an obvious scandal, that would not happen.
A different but related question is how much support will Jim and the Harbaughs give to Sherrone and UM in the future. The family connections, the NFL connections, were obviously a huge help to Jim. I don’t know to what extent he did or did not support Shaw at Stanford, but UM is special in terms of Jim’s and the other Harbaughs’ connections to the school/program. It could be a huge help
That is interesting because the BIG commissioner said we were cheating and suspended our head coach for the most important stretch of the regular season jeopardizing our quest for the national championship that we won fair and square. When is that asshat going to resign?
Yes, including 4 unbeaten conf champions would’ve been easy call. Then Texas is out and their win over Alabama is not so compelling.
With Georgia loss, there were 5 deserving conf champions for 4 spots. It was hard to rationalize Alabama over Texas, so FSU was deemed #5.
This year there was 5 or 6 or even 7 teams that were hard to parse through. Sucks to be FSU. 12-team format should have other issues but leaving out a worthy team should be very much less likely.

Well, commish definitely stuck his neck out with this unprecedented suspension for dubious evidence and an incomplete investigation. I guess it follows that if he was right then Harbaugh would be in line for even stiffer penalties, but if he was wrong then he clearly sucks at his job and should vacate it one way or another.
In the 1st quarter, we realized they had one advantage, we adjusted and managed to exclude that one area from the rest of the game, and ground out the win. On the road. Against a top 10 team. And top 5 defense. Without our head coach. Beautiful! (If a little boring and with much gnashing of teeth)
I think all the big plays (and a few close incompletions that could’ve been big plays) were on slants. Linebacker/end drops weren’t very effective. Sainristil, Johnson and others were out of position trailing, and safeties were out of position or just whiffed on tackle attempts. Hopefully just shaking the rust off. Most of those players were very effective against those routes the last ~2 years

2 more would make 20. They could have two 10 team divisions each year with rotating schools in each division aside from 2-3 protected rivals. Play the other 9 in your division. 2 division winners can face off in BIG championship (or just both go to CFP). You would face each school at least once every 3 years and most at least 2 times in 4 years

A colleague and I once missed our flight out of Reagan - we were sitting in the gate but missed the instructions that we had to go through a door off to the side, down the stairs, and out onto the tarmac to board. It was frustrating
Corum has shown some good receiving skills too. Corum and D Edwards should both be pretty good to block for each other. Hopefully Loveland is better at blocking. Having JJ, Corum, Edwards, Wilson, C Johnson, Loveland as skill players should be pretty sweet
It was the week before thanksgiving when I was a student - culminating in ‘97 season/‘98 graduation (suck it bitches). I don’t like that students have to be there over the holiday weekend or miss the game.
Split in to two nine-team groupings (this can rotate with or without locked in rival), play all eight in your group ending week before thanksgiving, then have one v one, two v two, etc the week after thanksgiving.
Big hire. Need to maximize year 3 of JJ and win a championship if possible and need to get JD (or another big recruit) given the depth chart after JJ. This could be legacy securing for JH.
McDaniel and Bufkin need to play big minutes. 35+ minutes each. I think they can do it. Backup guards pretty nonexistent. Reed probably the 5th best player on the team. Be interesting to see how the 2 bigs lineup develops. If they win 2/3 in the Big, then maybe?

I feel like the coaching decisions were the most costly - trick play on opening drive and all out blitz in 4th quarter on 3rd and 8 deep in TCU territory especially. Team didn’t execute well enough all game. Refs blew some very impactful calls. Team fought hard all game. Fuck. Onto basketball season, double fuck.

They moved The Game to Thanksgiving weekend years ago, so I don’t think these breaks move the needle much. Can’t avoid them all.
I will add that Wisconsin had a winter holiday break ~2 weeks longer than M, and they had multiple home games in January without students.
