Michigan in touch with Dante Moore
This would be a big pick up. Great for us and great that he doesn't go to someone else in the Big 10.
December 5th, 2023 at 4:20 PM ^
He's raw as hell, but he could be a real game changer. The talent is undeniable.
December 5th, 2023 at 4:26 PM ^
Player to named later in trades of Wilton Speight & Zach Charbonnet to UCLA.
December 5th, 2023 at 4:31 PM ^
Didn’t we throw Devin Asiasi in that deal too? To get it done?
December 5th, 2023 at 4:42 PM ^
Wow. Hadn't thought about it, but that's a lot UM -> UCLA.
December 5th, 2023 at 4:42 PM ^
Franz Wagner gave them 7 missed threes as a throw in too
(Love Franz lol, but my fiancee went to UCLA and I'm still not over that loss)
December 5th, 2023 at 4:49 PM ^
I just went back and looked at that box score and holy smokes it was worse than I remember. Dickinson leading our scoring with 11. Eli Brooks with 8 points in 37 minutes and Franz 1/10 shooting.
December 5th, 2023 at 5:04 PM ^
Franz did play elite defense in that game, though.
December 5th, 2023 at 11:34 PM ^
On himself as well.
December 5th, 2023 at 5:05 PM ^
The only way we lose that game in regulation is if we go 0 for 7 in our final 7 shots, with 4 of those misses being layups, in the final 5:23. Of course, that's exactly what we did. They even gifted us two turnovers during that stretch. Rough, rough game...
December 5th, 2023 at 5:30 PM ^
We had 4 chances to win or tie in the last 12 seconds. Missed them all.
December 5th, 2023 at 5:37 PM ^
That was the year where UCLA mastered free throw defense. Every team they played except one shot around 50% from the ft line.
December 5th, 2023 at 10:30 PM ^
They stole our FT signs. I am convinced.
December 5th, 2023 at 5:38 PM ^
Gus, if she gives you too hard a time, take her to the lab under the cleaners.
December 5th, 2023 at 9:19 PM ^
Yea that one stings as does the Elite 8 loss to Kentucky a few years before.
December 5th, 2023 at 4:58 PM ^
They should throw in a quality nickel safety.
December 5th, 2023 at 5:06 PM ^
very good idea.
wouldn't mind a rock-solid LT, too.
December 5th, 2023 at 5:15 PM ^
You mean this guy?
December 5th, 2023 at 7:03 PM ^
Our secondary is going to be elite next year. Will miss Mikey but McBurrows, Saab, Zeke and others will be entering stage right.
December 5th, 2023 at 8:16 PM ^
Best TE blocker other than Barner, incredible blocker for a freshman!
December 5th, 2023 at 5:17 PM ^
Justin Fargus?
December 5th, 2023 at 6:00 PM ^
Was he USC or UCLA?
December 5th, 2023 at 6:56 PM ^
Justin FEAGIN. You aren't doing it right!
December 5th, 2023 at 8:17 PM ^
We need Domani Jackson to make that one work…
December 5th, 2023 at 5:43 PM ^
Underrated, so I had to upvote you to 69.
December 5th, 2023 at 9:21 PM ^
Fuck Terry Donahue. And...the Diaz brothers?
December 5th, 2023 at 10:30 PM ^
And Casper Gomez.
December 5th, 2023 at 4:48 PM ^
Raw? No way, he needs to be coached and given an opportunity to succeed. But “raw” is Joe Milton when he arrived on campus
December 5th, 2023 at 5:04 PM ^
Sounds like Joe Milton.
December 5th, 2023 at 6:01 PM ^
Joe Milton had a cannon but couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn, couldn’t read a defense, and was unable to put any touch on the ball. It takes 2 seconds of watching Moore tape to see that’s not him
December 5th, 2023 at 6:04 PM ^
But this board had him as next Vince Young based on whispers at practice....
December 5th, 2023 at 6:37 PM ^
I thought he was compared to Cam Newton
December 5th, 2023 at 7:07 PM ^
This board had Shane Morris as a pre-season Heisman candidate
December 5th, 2023 at 8:04 PM ^
Can't wait to see Joe Milton vs Iowa defense
December 5th, 2023 at 4:20 PM ^
I trust the coaches, but he looked really bad at UCLA. Like worse than typical true freshman bad.
December 5th, 2023 at 4:23 PM ^
I thought he looked great in the first 2 or 3 games, then dropped off after that - basically once they got into conference season. He's a great talent & would absolutely be our #1 QB on the depth chart if JJ leaves.
December 5th, 2023 at 5:32 PM ^
I hope he would not be our #1 QB if JJ leaves. He was barely functional.
December 5th, 2023 at 4:40 PM ^
Not sure why you are getting negged. He was literally bad this year. That graph that someone else posted on here last week showed only the Iowa QB as being worse out of all QBs in the nation. Granted he is only a freshman, but no matter how you look at it, that is bad. if he is willing to come to Michigan and earn his play, he would be more than welcome.
December 5th, 2023 at 4:49 PM ^
How good do people think Jadyn Davis would look as a true freshman? Answer: Not any better than Moore.
He played on a mediocre team that really isn’t all that talented.
December 5th, 2023 at 4:56 PM ^
I don’t recall anyone saying he would look better. I for one certainly don’t want a true freshman starting next year if JJ leaves.
December 5th, 2023 at 5:14 PM ^
I think most are afraid to upset the great balance in the locker room but adding a merc looking to play for money and not his teammates
December 5th, 2023 at 5:25 PM ^
Ok, I don't know the kid at all, but calling him a merc seems a bit over the line.
Any NIL he gets, he has earned. We can all agree on that.
Beyond that, he flipped from Oregon to UCLA when he found out Nix was coming back and he couldn't be qb1 in year 1. He went for early playing time that UCLA had.
He got his early playing time, got kicked around a bit and every statement he has made lately is about development.
I will take a local 5star who's been humbled a bit any day. And I will definitely not argue who the staff of the 3 straight b1g Champs choose to recruit.
December 5th, 2023 at 5:32 PM ^
If his primary deciding factor is money and he’s leaving where he’s at for more money merc seems applicable nothing wrong with it but spade’s a spade and all that.
December 5th, 2023 at 5:40 PM ^
All of these players are playing ultimately for money.
Are you part of Davis’ family? Your criticism of Moore is awfully personal.
December 5th, 2023 at 6:03 PM ^
The section of Michigan fans that blast kids because NIL is getting old. Like you point out it almost seems personal to some. NIL is here to stay people we must embrace it.
December 5th, 2023 at 6:11 PM ^
I wasn’t critical at all he wants to make a buck no problem I just don’t see that as healthy long term for the rest of the team. That might work at say Miami or maybe it doesn’t they haven’t won much. I’m more critical of your takes.
December 5th, 2023 at 7:15 PM ^
Moore is a better prospect and he has actual game experience unlike Davis. You slap him with a label because of a decision he made a year ago. I’m pretty certain Michigan has made it clear to Dante and his dad what is expected in their culture.
We’ll see where this goes, but I hope he does embrace the Michigan Way because he is an awfully talented player.
December 5th, 2023 at 7:21 PM ^
I think he’s very talented and agree I thought dad was somewhat of an issue. If he can absorb the culture this teams built then I’m all for it but that’s a risk and I wouldn’t be getting into a bidding war with Miami over it
December 5th, 2023 at 7:40 PM ^
You imply he’s too much of a risk of being a bad fit for this culture. Then you say you wouldn’t be getting into a bidding war if you were M coaching staff.
Those two things aren’t compatible- this culture wasn’t built by leaders who would get in a bidding war in the first place for a kid who doesn’t fit the culture- that kind of BS is exactly what OSU does.
