If you read the original post carefully, you'll note "rumors abound".

True dat, but blame the state for not getting off the schnide quickly enough to distribute the plates in 2023.

UM, MSU, and WSU are the…

UM, MSU, and WSU are the only three R1 universities in the state (PhD granting, and very high research activity). This is what puts them at that higher "tier".

"I am proud to bring back a green and white plate that pays tribute to the civil rights advancements of 1963 along with a new, more secure Michigan driver's license and ID," said Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson. "The new plate will serve as a reminder of the work that still needs to be done to achieve full equality and justice for all. "

I think we should give some…

I think we should give some props to at least the select SEC teams you listed for scheduling at least one big(ish) OOC game each year. Meanwhile, OSU in 2024 and PSU in both years have putrid OOC schedules.

With Michigan having had a similarly putrid OOC schedule last year, however, I guess we shouldn't point and laugh.

The rumor back then was that…

The rumor back then was that a little kid with a Wings jersey - maybe 7 or 8 - behind the net kept calling Roy over during warmups through the hole in the glass. The kid was persistent and Roy eventually obliged. When Roy bent over to talk to the kid through the glass, the kid screamed "Fuck you!!" right to his face and it visibly shook Roy up. He proceeded to give up a goal in the first 2 minutes, a second before the 4 minute mark, and 4 total in the first period. That kid was a hero on sports talk radio in Detroit for a week.

Try being a Detroit…

Try being a Detroit transplant to the Front Range of CO (yes, username checks out - established on another message board while I was out there). Denver sports fans may be the worst I have ever experienced in pro sports in terms of obnoxiousness. I had janitors trashing my office at work during the playoff series in 2002.

As much as I hated the Avs and everyone on that team, I loved Adam Foote. Big, HUGE, tough, badass defenseman. That's the one guy I would have taken on my team from the Avs.

Right. A waiver implies a break or exception from the NCAA towards Michigan. What are the odds.

Right!!! Been saying this…

Right!!! Been saying this for years. I kept hearing Harbaugh was "targeted by the media and the NCAA" because he was conservative and pro-life. Didn't matter that he's friends with the Obamas and was supportive of Hillary Clinton in 2016.

The guy truly marches to the beat of his own drum, for good or bad.

Northwestern?

Normally I poo-poo the…

Normally I poo-poo the prospect of purposely easy schedule for a particular team as tin-foil-hat stuff, because the scheduling is done years ahead of time and there is no knowing how the teams will stack up. In this case, however, the scheduling was done just the year before. The B1G has a very good idea of what PSU, Oregon, USC, UCLA, and Wash are gonna look like in 2024.

Conclusion? OSU's powder-puff schedule is not an accident.

Trouble with your argument…

Trouble with your argument is that these were prior to the transfer portal and NIL. The bigger problem here will be other teams raiding our best players with the money to do so. JH is fully aware of these ramifications.

Never heard this. Everything I've heard has been the opposite, actually. Just saw an interview two week ago with George Kittle (about the Rose Bowl), who said everything he'd heard about Harbaugh was positive from a players' perspective.

Been lurking forever - since…

Been lurking forever - since at least when we moved back to Michigan in 2006. One of those dudes who always lurked but never even set up an MGoBlog account until this fall, when I couldn't take Signgate any more and needed consoling. Mine:

Favorite on field: The Milroe stop in OT. I'll admit it, I was listening and couldn't watch. I had Karsch and Jansen on and the TV muted, but they weren't synced and ESPN was a full play ahead on the delay. Hearing Jansen go nuts after the stop was worth it.

Angry moment: That first Chop Robinson sack of JJ v. Penn State. That game had so much riding on it, with everyone assuming its result would suggest the degree of competitive advantage, and I thought sure we were doomed. Glad I was very wrong.

Biggest surprise: Keon Saab. Recency bias, probably, but damn.

Favorite feature: Love the Roundtable. And Brian's posts generally talked me off the ledge during Signgate.

Yee was hired weeks ago and…

Yee was hired weeks ago and has been involved in the Michigan contract talks.

Thamel involved in reporting an old story which, when taken out of context, appears to have negative implications for Michigan. And the "story" is literally dropped just after midnight on New Year's Eve, the day before the CFP. Can't make this shit up.

How can this hack get away with this?

My daughter is a journalism major, and I keep telling her that an entire college course could be taught on the ethics of Signgate. And it never seems to end.

They could, if they had guts…

They could, if they had guts. Think of the ump that blew the Tigers’ perfect game. He came out and owned it. Not in the NFL.

LOL the Oregon game. I had just sat down on the Lay Z Boy to eat a Banquet pot pie when Dixon threw that last bomb to go up 39-7. I stood up fast to scream at the top of my lungs. The pot pie spilled all over my wrist, which sounds benign, but let me tell you those things cook at 450 degrees and it wasn't pretty. Still have a nasty scar 16 years later.
