Carl always says, right before he announces the attendance number in the fourth quarter, that we are the largest crowd watching a football game anywhere in America that day. That's usually true, but not always--I think there were multiple games this year in which PSU's announced attendance was higher than ours. But there is so much about those numbers (all around) that is questionable that I don't think it's worth getting too fixated on precision.
My son bought a used iPhone from someone online and it turned out to be Khalid Hill. Some time later, we were at a game (I think it was homecoming) and my son spotted Khalid walking down the aisle next to us. He went down and introduced himself to Khalid as the kid who had bought his phone; Khalid was very friendly and took a picture with him, which I have a copy of somewhere.
Yeah, for the MSU Board to do something that tone deaf, they would have to be truly dysfunctional. I can't imagine any board being that...hold on, I'm getting a note.

The rule doesn't say anything about it applying only to staffers. It says: "Off-campus, in-person scouting of future opponents (in the same season) is prohibited." So if a volunteer was doing it but we were using it, we would still be in trouble.
In the neighborhood just north of Grand River and just east of Harrison, there is plenty of free parking on the street. The bigger the game the farther up into the neighborhood people park, but even for this game (their Super Bowl), the cars don't go more than a 1.0 mile walk to the stadium. I'd do that.
The last time I went, there were so many Michigan fans there that I did not have any issues. As for where to eat, I think the farther from campus you go the better off you are. My personal recommendation would be Meat BBQ in Old Town Lansing.
I also have Crohn’s Disease, so I followed Ambry Thomas’s situation with UC (an analogous condition) very closely and was very impressed with his comeback.
Both of these guys rob me of a lot of my excuses for not being more active.
At first I thought they were heartily booing Rep. McClain but then I noticed that the BGSU players were coming out onto the field and the crowd was booing them. Confirming this was that there was no such chorus of boos for Rep. James.
It really is a testament to...something...that in 2023 so many people (I'm including myself here) are so willing to spend so much time and so much money for something so uncomfortable.

My sophomore year, it was the perfect halfway point between campus and my apartment on cold days when stupid me (who still hadn't learned to dress appropriately for the weather) could stop in for a big $5 hot bowl of bi bim bap to fortify me for the rest of my slog home.
