Agreed. Thank you for displaying whatever the opposite of confirmation bias is.

Simply false. And the notion…

Simply false. And the notion that those practicing civil disobedience should not be willing to face any consequences for their civil disobedience is inconsistent with the basic tenets of civil disobedience.

If you can’t understand why…

If you can’t understand why a university would set standards for protests that prevent “heckler’s vetoes” and prevent protests from shutting down events without attributing the university’s actions to the insidious influence of Jewish donors, then yes, you are an anti-Semite. Pretty obvious to me.

In their defense, it's hard…

In their defense, it's hard for a background check to turn up stuff that hasn't happened yet.

Then they called Kirk…

Then they called Kirk Ferentz. Like the Wazzup? beer commercials.

Pretty remarkable that in…

Pretty remarkable that in each of our last three games (Iowa, Bama, Washington), we ended the tenure of the other team's head coach.

They are the only ones. A…

They are the only ones. A lot of 1-0s, but no one else with more than one win.

They also said "This show is…

They also said "This show is brought to you by the letters R and C and the numbers i and e," which I thought was very clever.

Seems like a good reason …

Seems like a good reason (among others) to drop the conference championship game.

If I were Michigan, and if…

If I were Michigan, and if we win (don’t want to jinx us), I would offer commemorative paper tickets to season ticket holders for the whole season and post-season. I would pay for that, as would thousands of others, and they could make a heap of money—everyone is happy.

I think the crowd singing a capella when the song cuts out is the part that makes it so awesome.

I have two tickets that I…

EDIT: SOLD

I have two tickets that I can't use. Section 638 (sideline, from end zone to 5 yard line), Row M. You would be sitting next to my charming son :)

I'd like $1350 per ticket ($2700 total) but I'll entertain all reasonable offers from Michigan fans.

I wish they said what the…

I wish they said what the boundaries of upper, middle, and lower are. But it won’t be too long before the emails go out with all the info.

True, but I have to believe…

True, but I have to believe that that is part of why Missouri is favored by 2.5 over Ohio State.

Big Tens.

Not only that, but I heard a…

Not only that, but I heard a rumor that we are having a game in the Spring against the #1 team. Huge if true. ;)

If that is what they are…

If that is what they are basing it on, then we can back out the "if they do make it to the playoffs, what is their probability of winning the whole thing?" numbers:

Michigan 41%
Alabama 31%
Texas 27%
Washington 11%

Somewhat tangential question…

Somewhat tangential question (but I figured asking it here was better than starting a whole new thread about it): It looks to me like JJ hasn't had his trademark smiley face drawn on his hand for a while now. Does anyone know anything about that? Just curious if there is a story there.

Sorry for the spoiler but…

Sorry for the spoiler but NATTY is a word today so I think that clearly takes us out of coincidence range.

I have one ticket to the Big…

I have one ticket to the Big Ten Championship game that I can't use. Section 333, Row 1. I'll happily sell it for 50% of the face value ($80). Text 420.4645 (area code 517) (sorry for the weird notation; trying to avoid the bots).

He calls Corum “Blake the Great” and Edwards “The Don.”

Same here. There was a lot…

Same here. There was a lot of pent-up demand to work through, I guess. Looking forward to going with my son!

Carl always says, right…

Carl always says, right before he announces the attendance number in the fourth quarter, that we are the largest crowd watching a football game anywhere in America that day. That's usually true, but not always--I think there were multiple games this year in which PSU's announced attendance was higher than ours. But there is so much about those numbers (all around) that is questionable  that I don't think it's worth getting too fixated on precision.

YEAH!

YEAH!

Yes. As someone said…

Yes. As someone said elsewhere, if the Big 10 had really wanted to screw Michigan over, they should have suspended James Franklin.

And also instead of "I."

And also instead of "I."

I upvoted this in part…

I upvoted this in part because of your use of “metric shit-ton” (which I reckon is equal to roughly 1.1023 imperial shit-tons).

My son bought a used iPhone…

My son bought a used iPhone from someone online and it turned out to be Khalid Hill. Some time later, we were at a game (I think it was homecoming) and my son spotted Khalid walking down the aisle next to us. He went down and introduced himself to Khalid as the kid who had bought his phone; Khalid was very friendly and took a picture with him, which I have a copy of somewhere.

I just don’t get why we have such persistent problems with our bowl games. It’s just weird.

Yeah, for the MSU Board to…

Yeah, for the MSU Board to do something that tone deaf, they would have to be truly dysfunctional. I can't imagine any board being that...hold on, I'm getting a note.

According to https:/…

According to the good folks at https://brianferentzpointstracker.com, Iowa needs to average 33.8 points per game for their remaining games to hit his required average. I don’t blame either side for deciding a bit early that that won’t happen.

Pluto looked very wary of that egg. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a dog eat something after hesitating like that.

The rule doesn't say…

The rule doesn't say anything about it applying only to staffers. It says: "Off-campus, in-person scouting of future opponents (in the same season) is prohibited." So if a volunteer was doing it but we were using it, we would still be in trouble.

Their nachos are quite good.

The excerpt above doesn’t…

The excerpt above doesn’t limit the main part of the rule (the ban, not the exceptions) to staff members.

In the neighborhood just…

In the neighborhood just north of Grand River and just east of Harrison, there is plenty of free parking on the street. The bigger the game the farther up into the neighborhood people park, but even for this game (their Super Bowl), the cars don't go more than a 1.0 mile walk to the stadium. I'd do that.

The last time I went, there…

The last time I went, there were so many Michigan fans there that I did not have any issues. As for where to eat, I think the farther from campus you go the better off you are. My personal recommendation would be Meat BBQ in Old Town Lansing.

I also have Crohn’s Disease, so I followed Ambry Thomas’s situation with UC (an analogous condition) very closely and was very impressed with his comeback.

Both of these guys rob me of a lot of my excuses for not being more active.

At first I thought they were…

At first I thought they were heartily booing Rep. McClain but then I noticed that the BGSU players were coming out onto the field and the crowd was booing them. Confirming this was that there was no such chorus of boos for Rep. James.

It really is a testament to...something...that in 2023 so many people (I'm including myself here) are so willing to spend so much time and so much money for something so uncomfortable.

I loved Bella Ciao. Everyone was all about Gratzi, but I always thought Bella Ciao was better, just around the corner but it felt like a secret.

A thousand times yes on this…

A thousand times yes on this one. My sophomore year, it was the perfect halfway point between campus and my apartment on cold days when stupid me (who still hadn't learned to dress appropriately for the weather) could stop in for a big $5 hot bowl of bi bim bap to fortify me for the rest of my slog home.

In the same vein, my sister used to call it "God's Waiting Room." But we loved it and we miss it.
