I ate dinner at Buddies in Okemos and half of the restaurant was wearing Michigan apparel. Go Blue! Win the game!

I mean... it's vandalism.  Looks like current law is anything over $1000 damage can be a felony.  Back then they claimed it was over $100 for felony but we know that cops are not under any obligation to tell the truth.  But all those band kids with paint all over their stuff after we rushed them... I guess the cost adds up.

Ended up getting conspiracy to commit a misdemeanor, some fines and community service.  I think this would have been Bobby Williams last season, so we won big.

That is usually reserved for military. Not litter pickers.

We got up there, we found all the garbage in there, and we decided it'd be
A friendly gesture for us to take the garbage down to the city dump. So
We took the half a ton of garbage, put it in the back of a red VW
Microbus, took shovels and rakes and implements of destruction and headed
On toward the city dump.

And I, I walked over to the, to the bench there in the East Lansing jail.
Where they put you if you may not be moral enough to be in the general MSU populace after
Committing your special crime, and there was all kinds of mean nasty ugly
Looking people on the bench there. Phone Masturbators. Tunnel assaulters. Neck twisters. Mother rapers. Quack doctor didlers. Father stabbers. Father
Rapers! Father rapers sitting right there on the bench next to me! And
They was mean and nasty and ugly and horrible crime-type guys sitting on the
Bench next to me. And the meanest, ugliest, nastiest one, the meanest
Father raper of them all, was coming over to me and he was mean 'n' ugly
'N' nasty 'n' horrible and all kind of things and he sat down next to me
And said, "Kid, whad'ya get?" I said, "I didn't get nothing, I had to pay
$50 and clean up the statue" He said, "What were you arrested for, kid?"
And I said, "Vandalism." And they all moved away from me on the bench.

To be fair, the paint and cleaning was doing damage to the Sparty statue which is actually made out of ceramic.   The only way to remove the paint was sandblasting and that stripped the coating from the statue which then allowed the rain/snow to start damaging the ceramic through cracks/expansion.  That's ultimately why they had to move it indoors.

I am all for harmless pranks.  Hell if they had made the statue if bronze it probably wouldn't be an issue...but it was destroying property over time which isn't cool.
