Rumors from Iowa insider that Brian Ferentz could step down as soon as today on a "mutual separation."
Report was tweeted out, but came from an insider board so wont include the screen shot.

In a brilliant act of revenge, Michigan has been stealing the Iowa signs and feeding that information to their opponents the past three seasons. Rumor has it's to payback the 85 game where we lost our shot at the National Championship.

According to the good folks at https://brianferentzpointstracker.com, Iowa needs to average 33.8 points per game for their remaining games to hit his required average. I don’t blame either side for deciding a bit early that that won’t happen.

I wonder if that is even accurate. Yes, they've scored 156 points, but 18 of those points came on an interception return TD, a punt return TD, and two safeties. In reality, the offense has only scored 138 points. Does Brian Ferentz get credit for defensive scores and punt/kickoff return scores? If not, then Iowa needs to average 37.4 offensive points the rest of the season. They've only scored more than 26 points once.

To be fair you effectively lose an offensive possession when D/ST touchdowns happens so I don't think it's *entirely* invalid to count those towards the total.

It's very possible this comes to fruition. They've already lost three in a row and still have to play PSU (home), Nebraska (road), Michigan (home), and Rutgers (road). Don't see them winning either home game and quite honestly, winning in Lincoln and Piscataway looks like tough sledding right now.
