I think this is smart. Maye could be like a relief pitcher in a starting pitchers role, since the ACC is college football lite. The Pats had some ok success with a late pick, previously, anyway.
This is a subjective take. I live on the east coast and that’s how people view Cleveland, not Detroit. My experience, people want what’s best for Detroit and The Mistake on the Lake can sink into Erie’s depths.
A2 has sooo much more going for it. Just the fact that it’s 30 min from a Delta Airlines hub makes it twice as convenient as Cbus. Try booking a trip to Rome from Ohio, you’ll end up taking a regional to DTW first.
Throw in a killer local music scene that straddles Detroit and Ann Arbor and you have a clear winner. Not even close.
This feels mostly like a reaction to pay-to-play with direct involvement from the university. While the NCAA still has to come to a conclusion about Stalions, that was very much about how the game was played not how the team is administered. I could see this new AD at tOSU finding himself in hot water, though.
Yeah, that’s a bad descriptor, for sure. What’s the adjective for “thrives on chaos not preparation”? Dischordful? We’ll see if he can keep the plates spinning.
The Mistake on the Lake has no opinion that matters to humanity. Every person I’ve met that grew up in/around The Cleve has an irrational fear of ever stepping foot within the boundaries of Detroit. You could replace “irrational” with a different word, but I’ll try to avoid the fringes of politics (this is what we’ve come to…).
I know a few pharmacy majors from my time at Michigan. They’re financially well off and enjoy the work.
I’m went thru the engineering school and can tell you that, while I love the design field and make decent money, not everyone with aptitude does well as an engineer. Many end up moving toward the business side and go back for an MBA.
Those on this board that advise he take some core classes and regularly assess his expectations seem wise, to me.
You could also point to the fact that Coach Moore played real division I football and is inherently tough, while Day played at UNH and may or may not know how to fight his way out of a paper bag (except to lose an insane amount of sleep over it). They are not the same, at all.
Harbaugh had to rebuild both lines, which took multiple years, but as you’ve pointed out he found success, regardless. He’s rebuilt our program and has passed it on in good shape. I’m not sure I feel too bad about that and I think Moore is a good/great candidate to keep it running.
Saban wasn’t soft and he never blamed his players for loses. I guess that’s to say, he was for-real respected by young men with giant me-goggles (egos). Not easy to accomplish and the results speak for themselves. I believe Harbaugh has this same quality. Ryan Day does not.
My wife grew up in a nice Victorian not too far from there. It seems like a mixed bag of opinions, in terms of for/against. I assume the horses are for it? Go Mustangs (especially Jake Moody)!

It seems to me that Coach agreed to a lot of uncomfortable things a few years ago, then upped his performance (as well as those around him) and won the NC. All of this without demanding more while in the process.

With his final game as a loss to the Jets. Ouch. He needed to totally change the offense after Brady left. I’m not sure he ever understood how much coaching TB12 was doing, which pushed that offense from ok to excellent.

As a resident, but not home-grown, Bostonian I find there are two camps of Patriots fans. Realists and Belichick apologists. The realists understand that it was Brady’s team and specifically his offense. The rest are still convinced that Mack Jones is the real deal. It’s been fun to watch the decline and the ensuing surrender cobras.
