I’m old enough to remember the days when OL were told to bulk up by eating an entire pizza for dinner every couple days. That wasn’t THAT long ago.

I’m also old enough to remember when Metallica first hired a nutritionist to go on tour with them. It got a lot of flak, but dude, good call in retrospect.

A congratulatory message is not politics, even if it is a political figure sending the message, unless one chooses to make it political, in which case that user is in trouble.

I would rather not have to lock or remove a thread where one human being is simply congratulating other human beings. For it to come to that would say more about the people doing the posting than the person whose message it is.

Our society would be in a better place if people on all sides followed this rubric.  The sitting president of the country congratulated our team.  That's awesome, whether you are a member of his party or a member of the opposing party; whether you think he is the greatest president of all time or you think he is inept, corrupt, evil, etc.  Likewise, it is cool when any former president - Trump, Obama, Bush or Clinton (I think I covered all of the living formers) - congratulates our team.  Again, doesn't matter if you love or hate them - it's recognition for our team by someone with major influence and a position of importance.

I can tell you that if a president on the other side of my aisle extended this message or gesture, I would take it. Trouble or not, I respect the office of the president and the will of the people no matter how strongly I disagree or agree.

There have been a few presidents on both sides I have hated their policy in the recent 25ish years, but would absolutely shake their hand and honor them as Mr. President if I had the opportunity.

Not all, but much of the toxic political divide is completely manufactured right now.

I am a Republican - and strongly approve this message, the Presidential congrats and the post.

Today on this board - there are no Republicans versus Democrats.  There is Michigan versus Everybody - and we know who won!

I want to, but I won't. Pat me on the back moms. I'm a good boy today. National Champs has me in a more compliant mood. I've turned over a new Eucalyptus leaf.

Joe will claim that Fielding Yost gave him a scholarship to play QB at the U of M but that since he didn't offer CornPop, he decided to play at Grambling instead because they didn't discriminate.

Assuming the team makes a trip to the White House, what kind of food should they serve? I’m going to say surf and turf: beef tenderloin and lobster. Nothing but the best.
