Where were you when Poole hit that shot?

Submitted by MMB 82 on

I was at a house-warming party, sitting in a corner watching the game on my phone. Literally screamed and dropped my phone, scared the living shit out of everyone!

At home watching with the wife. After the missed FTs, I thought about the Maryland game in Crisler. Then IT HAPPENED!! Once the shot went down, I was screaming and yelling at the top of my lungs!! Opened the front door and started yelling MICHIGAN!!! MICHIGAN WINS!!!!!! Not sure if I woke anyone or not, but too bad if I did!!

Literally was expecting the worst, since down 2 with 4 sec left. Pulled up to my parking spot as the three was announced real time. Had to stop the car. Started screaming. Called my dad but he was asleep. Unbelievable finish. Something I'll remember forever. A great day in my fandom for sure. On par with trey Burke jumper vs Kansas.

Cashing out at Daceys sports bar at Firekeepers casino. I was cashing out when the shot went in and to make a long story short... I just got home

streaming on my phone.  A few other Michigan fans gatherered around and we let out screams that scared most of the bride's family.  I'm okay with it.

I beg for a photoshop thread, especially for the picture of Poole and Wagner running for their lives. If I had any PS skills I'd put Jason Voorhees chasing them or something

alone in my man cave, ran upstairs, rousted the wife out of bed to come down and watch the replay. She wasn't quite as excited. But my Golden Retriever was! Boys know!

My living room. I'd walked into the kitchen to make some tea, while consoling myself over the loss. Hey, it was a great season. We get to hang a banner. We'll be even better next year. I drifted back to watch the end and close out the season right--to be a real fan and stick through till the end, as sick as I felt. I missed the missed free throws but got back in time for the in-bounds pass...and that shot by Swaggy Poole. And then I yelled OH MY GOD. Then I came here and typed that on the first thread I saw. What a fucking game.

At a St. Pat's house party in Denver hosted by a Penn State alum. We both screamed. I actually jumped into his arms for some odd reason. Then I fell to their living room carpet in sheer amazement. What a magical moment. Long live Jordan Poole. For he's a jolly good fellow!

I am at a buddy's apartment in Chamonix and he has a projector in his place. I was up at 3am for the game and was damn tired just before Poole sank the game winner at 5:20am. Couldn't sleep after that! Time to celebrate with a few snowboard runs this morning.

That would be bad at a house warming party.

I know, you literally screamed.  I can't go to sleep cuz I'm all jacked up/

Hey web meisters, can we get a picture of Mr. Poole on the banner instead of Potatohead MAAR?  It is worthy!

And watched the end of the game with my (spartan grad) wife.

I definitely shed a single tear...I had flash backs of Jmorgan with the failed tip back and then next thing I know is Trey 2.0 with the fate. CRIIIIIPES! I’m drunk and née d to go to bed.

I was in G.R. at Gardella's. It was interesting how many people perked up during the last few minutes of the game that hadn't been watching at all the rest of the time. Had to stand up for the final moments to get a view. I had a calm feeling the entire time as the game came down to Michigan actually having a shot. I felt especially calm because all the friends I was with were State fans and had moments of kind of being dicks as Michigan seemed to lose their chance to win (one friend was making comments about how bad Michigan looked after the first couple minutes of the game to which I replied "have you watched basketball before?") Shot went in and all hell broke loose. Some dude fell to the floor, chairs were knocked over, screamed and hugged multiple dudes while running around like crazy. It was a magical moment. It was somehow more shocking than Trey Burke vs. Kansas. Left the bar after that for a smoke and enjoyed some more celebration with people walking by. I've watched the replay so many times already, and it's still hard to comprehend. Insane moment that we'll all remember for quite some time.

Sulking, holding a beer while standing off to the side of the tv in my living room. I said, "We need a miracle" to my best friend, sitting on the couch. My wife, playing on her phone in dismay, kids sleeping. He fucking hits it. My friend and I went INSANE. "OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" Fell to my floor in joy, unlike the Houston players. JORDAN MOTHER FUCKING POOLE

I've been seeing for a little bit, and I was watching most of the game in the car ride home to her house. Absolutely miserable ride home because I kept talking to my phone. Watched the last 3.9 seconds with her parents and went absolutely berserk. I was hoping to wait a bit longer before introducing her to how fucking obsessed I am with 18-22 year olds I've never met, but oh well. Her old man is a Syracuse fan, so I really hope we both have a great weekend ;)

Y'all peoples can thank me for this one. Well, me and comcast.

See, I've personally jinxed Michigan sports for the past decade. It's like schroedinger's cat for me, but whenever I watch it, it fucking dies.

It starts 10 years back.  My first game at Michigan Stadium? Season opener 2007.

Held up all this season.

Game 1 of football season, I tune in late because I couldn't get home in time.  I turn the game on, back to back picks to keep florida in.  Entire season was like that.

I turned off Michigan State halfway through the rain and we nearly made a comeback. Yup, I turned the game back on.

I watched Penn State from the start.  We gave up the two long TDs and I had to leave to drive home.  We start catching up and some dumbass texts me and tells me about it.  I turn on the radio and suddenly Penn State puts us away.

See, y'all think Belien just develops players.  No, I get crushed by heartbreaking early losses against mediocre opponents and stop following the team early on in conference play.  I stop watching; they start winning.

Today, Comcast shit the bed.  I'm trying to stream the game at home and the internet and my cable TV go out.  I can't watch most of the game and miss the ending.

You're welcome.  I think for the sake of the rest of the fanbase, I can no longer watch Michigan sports live because I'm pretty sure the entire past decade of Michigan Fan torture may be solely my fault.

One of the crazier moments of my life. 4 Michigan students aborad in Sydney, streaming the game off of a laptop going absolutly apeshit. What a time to be alive

How is it that you are at a housewarming party during the opening weekend of March madness and the game isn’t on a tv?

in downtown Kalamazoo was packed. I had already cashed out as the game was ending, and when Houston got the two free throws that would seal it, I started to make my way to the exit....but I did stop to watch Houston miss both free throws. Obviously the bar went crazy when Poole drained it and many random hugs were given. Further, someone cued up The Victors on the jukebox, and Burdicks was gracious enough to change the audio from the TV’s to the music so we could sing along. What a night!

I was sitting on my sofa with my phone - my wife and kids were long since asleep and the dog and cats were sitting in various corners of the family room. As soon as that shot went in, I jumped up, the dog got up, the cats scattered, I spilled what was my ninth Guinness and began running around quietly screaming "HOLY SHIT!".

Sick kid with flu upstairs, sick twins with something else upstairs, exhausted wife crashed on couch. Teenage kid came in to watch. I was yelling at the little girl that was courtside on TV crying because it wasn’t over with 3.6. Atwater Dirty Blonde and pickle flavored Doritos from a colleague that lives in Canada. Luckily I didn’t wake the house or I wouldn’t be here this morning.

Ashamed to say I was asleep. These 10:00 pm games are brutal. This team is winning, even with all the fucked up scheduling shafts they’ve gotten this year

I would like to introduce you to an interesting note: I received my diagnosis recently and will be fitted for a CPAP next week. Thank-you for your concern that came packaged with that legendary mgoblog condescending tone. It's just so awesome. Have a great Sunday afternoon. :)

Ditched the group I was going out with to sit with some Michigan fans I met at a sports bar. We had to be restrained by the bouncers because we went so crazy...

I was at my Holland (MI) grandson ‘s birthday party with my wife with all relatives Michigan State fans. I was watching the game alone because everyone else was in bed after midnight. I was texting back and forth with my basketball buddy on the other side of the state. After M fouled Houston with them leading by 2 with 3.8 seconds left, and the game ‘was hopeless’, I actually texted him (sort of kidding) “Let’s see if this is a team of destiny “. Then the 2 missed free throws and Jordan Poole’s shot, what a great feeling! This is a team of destiny!
