Where were you when Poole hit that shot?

I was at a house-warming party, sitting in a corner watching the game on my phone. Literally screamed and dropped my phone, scared the living shit out of everyone!

A fantastic week for me - my dog won the Brussels Griffon National Specialty and Jordan Poole clinched the win. It doesn’t get any better......

Wife went to bed when Houston went to the line late thinking it was over.  I woke her (and the neighbors) up screaming when Poole hit the game winner.

I am still in shock 10 hours later.

Wife and kids were asleep. I was in the living room clutching onto a couch pillow. When the shot went in, I jumped and yelled and didn’t know what else to do so I actually bit the pillow before launching it across the room in shock and joy.

and work up at 6am to watch it because I can't sleep after a basketball game and it messes up my week of sleep schedule.

So I got the point where we missed the lay up and fouled and thought, that's it.  We're done barring some kind of screw up.  I had stayed off of the internet all morning and I finally opened my phone and saw that my Dad had texted me.  At this point the 1st free throw is missed and I'm thinking, maybe we go to overtime.  Then the second gets missed and it was all Poole from there.  So glad I managed not to check anything.

Was sitting next to me on the couch... head buried into the pillow when Houston was at the line. He couldn’t watch. When they missed he continued to keep his head buried. Lifted his head just in time to see MAAR pass to Poole for the win! The look on his face was priceless. He then proceeded to run through the house yelling “Go Blue!”, waking his younger siblings. Worth the hour it took to get all of them back to bed.

On my couch with my 8 yr old son. That 3.6 seconds seemed like 3 minutes,i went from "why arent they covering Livers" to "throw it,throw it" (we have had a few 5 seconds calls this year) to "attack attack (MAAR) dont settle for a half court heave with this much time" to "Oh My GOD he made it" (after Poole got a perfect pass from MAAR)

I JUMPED off the couch and yelled "he did it he did it" like 4-5 times kissed my son, then sat down and actually had tears rolling down my face,i couldnt help it they just happened.

old son, who had grown up on Michigan disappointment thus far, but still loves them.

We were waaaay late to head out and eat at Killer Shrimp and there was tension in the air as the ladies suffered through the last 5 minutes of play, which was more like 22 minutes real-time.

I was so tempted to walk away and spare my son the last miserable seconds of yet another M heartbreak (we flew backfrom San Francisco to A2 last fall for the MSU game and dropped $700 on tix to what I thought would be the revenge tour for the game ending the year before).

After missed lay-up and foul, we got an impatient, "Can we PLEASE GO NOW?"

We both said "no way" and watched until what we thought would be the bitter end.

The celebration delayed our departure and we no doubt freaked out anyone in any room nearby and then talked about it and basked in it all through dinner and we're both on our phones with people sharing the moment with our friends.

At home in my apartment.  I can't watch Michigan play in a bar.  I need total concentration.  (The team needs that from me!)  The only people who can watch with me are those who care about the game (almost) as much as I do.  And I can't sit down either.  I'm pacing the floor the whole time.  (It's a good way to meet my step goal.)

And man did I lose it after he hit the shot!

Half the people went outside by the fire pit thinking the game was over.  Then they saw the TV room explode into pandemonium!!!!  There were about 15 of us bouncing off the FREAKIN walls.  It was classic euphoria.  We can have good things!!!

volunteering with the group here and one of the Shriver gents.  It was almost 8 am local time by the time the shot went down.  Sadly so did my internet so I missed the whole thing, then just saw Poole running around like an idiot and Houston was down!

I was of course drunk, after a day of St Patrick's Day evelry.

Although I love sports--just can't endure the sheer torture of watching basketball. I just knew, though, when I turned it off and the game 43-42 or something, that I would regret it.

I cannot sit through basketball anymore, sorry. The fouls, turnovers, TV timeouts, the free throw shooting contest and teams doing nothing but launching three-point shots. I think in one earlier tournament game, there wre over SEVENTY three-point attempts. But I digress.

Kudos to those who can sit through a basketball game to the end.  I do believe the positive energy of fans has an ethereal effect. Somehow, it is transmuted through the televisions and phones tuned in, and great moments like this happen.

Unless, of course, you are a Houston fan. Then it's all just bullshit.

Can we do this? Yes honey they practice it and we've already seen this before this year with Rahkman getting the ball on that long pass. Not over till it's over. Bingo! Bam her favorite player JP hits it. She's screaming and jumping up and down on the bed, I'm going nuts rolling on the floor, phones ringing, going bonkers. So glad we stuck with it. Took an hour and a half to go to sleep and even then I woke up every hour or so it was wonderful. GO BLUE BABY!!
