I was wondering the other day how many "healthy scratches" there were for MSU on Sat.  read people wondering about players leaving the program on the Red Cedar cesspool and pissed about some sports writer inferring a couple players were moving on.

We’ll see their already underwhelming recruiting class fall apart and a bunch of guys defecting.  hate to see it. ;b

The situation itself is no laughing matter... and it is also pretty damn funny that a head football coach has to be told, in his termination letter, that it is "decidedly unprofessional to... masturbate while on the phone with a University vendor." It doesn't seem like the kind of thing someone should need to be told.

"It is decidedly unprofessional and unethical to flirt, make sexual comments, and masturbate while on the phone with a University vendor."

I have to admit, I laughed thinking about the lawyer who wrote this line.

It would seem that it's almost time for speculation regarding a replacement.  I can only think of a classic album cover - from the vinyl days...   "Who's next"

According to ESPN, if a head coach is fired during the season, student-athletes on the team have a 30-day window from the time the coach is fi red to be allowed to enter the portal no matter the transfer portal.

This brings up an interesting question.   What would be the exact date of the termination / firing?

Thirty (30) days from today would be October 18th - three days before Michigan travels to EL to face the Spartans.

Can student athletes who enter the portal still practice and/or play with the team they are requesting to transfer from?   This may be a coaches discretion / decision.   And, it would seem that the MSU staff would want every player to remain on the roster and participate in practices / games for as long as possible.

My quick read / understanding is - MSU intends to fire Mel Tucker for cause.  That will essentially release the Spartans from about an $ 80M financial obligation to him from his contract.   There might be some settlement - but, based on those four pages - it doesn't seem like it will be very much.

It will be a fraction of the $80M but still a large sum for an average Joe.  His argument that they were simply looking for a way out of the $80M is enough to take a claim to trial and the last thing "the MSU of today" wants is a Mel Tucker trial.  They want this to go away as quickly and quietly as possible.  I would be surprised if he walks away with less than $10M.

On July 27th, 2023, the Buffs Beat (which until someone proves otherwise, I will assume Tugger named during his brief stint), wrote a story entitled, "Mel Tucker pulling for Deion Sanders at Colorado."

I don't care what the rest of the article says, this is Nostradamus-level premonition.
