Tony Petitti says he and Michigan ‘have moved past the friction’

Submitted by GLORY on February 14th, 2024 at 10:33 PM

I guess it's now time to move on since Harbaugh's gone.

Petitti said he and Manuel have moved past the friction and even sat next to each other at a dinner the night before Michigan played Alabama in the CFP semifinal at the Rose Bowl. Petitti called Manuel “one of the leaders in our room.”

It rings to me that Warde befriended the devil.  From the Ncaa and Jim Stapleton the meeting he had with Warde before all this went public.  Then the B10 and Petite and cowering to all, two suspensions over complete and utter bs nonsense and changing / altering rules to do so.  This in fact tells me who both are.

It was a clear and concerted effort that all 3 were a part of.  Manuel, Petite and Stapleton..

Yep. It's more likely the Warde rolled over and showed his belly than that Pettiti has had any change of mind. I'm afraid now that Harbaugh is gone, Michigan's going to be tempted to back to soft old Michigan and Warde will just throw Jim under the bus whenever the Big Ten and NCAA come sniffing around again

Exactly!  What is funny is they went after the one that follows the rules more than any other!  He played by the rules they printed, he didn't play by the ones that were unspoken by them so they hated him.

Manuel just chased off the coach and one of only a couple head coaches that have went 15-0 to win the National Championship!  Verge of building a dynasty at Michigan and they have this.

While I don't agree with the action that he took, and I was happy to see Manuel's blistering response, it's time to put it behind us and move on. We're members of the conference and we're not going anywhere.

You can argue with your spouse or your parent, but at some point you have to move on there too.

Fuck you Tony, fuck you.

Carried your shit conference on our backs while you stabbed us. Michigan should be trying to sabotage everyone constantly.

Also weird how we didn't hear from you after the B1G or after the national title. You shut up then, shut up now.

These paragraphs were right after.  I think he is still talking about Michigan here.  He doesn't understand what's best for the conference.

"People sometimes misconstrue, these are never personal things, this is not personal," Petitti said. "This is about doing what's right for the conference, what's right for our institutions. It doesn't mean everybody's going to agree with decisions that come from the league office, but that's the job.

"At the end of the day, it's about doing what you think is right in the process. That's what we did, and there's reaction to that, and we just worked our way through it."

So, removing one member of a Committee for discussion is ok.. since, we’re all so understanding, supportive, and concerned about player safety.

It was garbage - if ADs couldn’t share what they thought in a room with a Michigan representative in it.. those ADs are cowards.  Petitti allowed - or facilitated it.  Both the other ADs and Petitti owe Michigan an apology - or acknowledgement of some kind.

This.

The moment Pettiti asked Warde/Harbaugh to leaving the meeting (so they could bash us behind our backs), they should have refused - saying that "conference" meetings *must* have attendance by *all* conference members.  If they had problems, they say it to our faces and let us respond directly.

This is a grievance we - as an institution - *must not forget* when it comes time to renew our GoR with the conference.  We may still end up signing, but we have no incentive to make it easy for them.

What's right? Where are you stopping OSU from tampering and buying recruits? Where are you with other teams sharing stolen signals?

He's such a piece of shit. The right thing for the conference was trying to sabotage your best chance at a title for what, so Ohio State can do it, so Penn State can piss down their leg like they always do?

I truly hope people chant fuck Pettiti every time he's in public.

NJ.. I believe you are way off.   I think the B1G and other ADs perspective is.. when teams like O$U, Rutgers, and others share Michigan’s signals with future Michigan opponents - it’s positive reference of the Sportsmanship clause.   This “working together” to defeat a common opponent just benefits the conference and increases parity.

Yes.. sarcasm intended.

What a crock. This is the same guy who handed the B1G trophy to Zak and didn't say a single word of congratulations. Fuck him. He got rid of Harbaugh which was what he wanted all along. Why should Michigan forgive and forget how he treated us?

I hope our administration is politically savvy enough not to roll over like this. I’m fine if they want to be cordial…until they stick the metaphorical knife in Pettit. As a not very wise man said, it’s not over it’ll never be over. And as another wiser man said, a harbaugh never forgets.  Let’s hope we haven’t had the last word yet…
