Sparty bros to pay $20,000 to see my Michigan degree

My twitter feed has been spicy since Monday.  Buckeye and Sparty are trying to tweet through it.

One particularly brave Sparty bro (@CogitoMSU) has been in my mentions a concerning number of times.  He/She is broken.  And now his poor ass is gonna be broke broke, along with his equally stupid pal @AshlonJefrey. They said they'll pay $10,000 each to see my Michigan diploma.  I'll donate every penny to charity.  Let's see how these internet tough guys stack up when the chips are on the table.

This whole thought that Michigan fans on the whole are not alums and therefore not real fans is insane, but Sparties claim it all the time. I think it's because they're butthurt that we're the bigger and more popular fanbase. They'd love to be the bigger fanbase, but they don't realize the way you get more fans is.... people who didn't go to your university start rooting for your team. So they're jealous of us and want to be what we are, but they can't so they just hate on what we are. Fun.

Are they that insecure that they can't believe that normal people have Michigan degrees? Do they think every Michigan grad is on Wall Street or Sunjay Gupta? I mean there are A LOT of highly successful graduates of the school but man, there are a lot of us with Michigan degrees that are just normal people.

Great nugget about Due# from article that came out when Harbaugh was hired (not putting him on blast but I see his name mentioned elsewhere in this thread)

"John Duerr was a walk-on outside linebacker who played with Harbaugh at Michigan. He was born in southern California. When Harbaugh and Andy Moeller decided they wanted to head west for a vacation after their final season, Duerr let them roam the Pacific coast in his old, green Volkswagen van, which has become forever known as the "Lime Green Love Machine."

I've never understood the fascination with attending your favorite school. I grew up in Ann Arbor. My dad had season tickets to Michigan so I went to all the games. When it came to going to college it seemed like everyone was going to Michigan and I preferred to not be around the same people forever.

I ended up going to Purdue (say what you want about Purdue; their engineering school is excellent). But Michigan was always my favorite team to root for. Does wanting to go away to college make me less of a fan? Does that make me a "Walmart Wolverine?"
