Rick Neuheisel suggests the NCAA should go after Harbaugh for their tobacco policy

Rick's hate for Jim holds no bounds.

I once felt like he got a bad draw getting fired at UCLA over his NCAA basketball pool and lying to the NCAA.  Now I understand why no one had his back.

What is the tobacco policy, and what is Harbs doing to violate it?

If there's a rule, I'm fine with the rule being enforced. It seems like it should be something along the lines of a nominal fine. I'm guessing Rick is suggesting a 2-season suspension.

From the official NCAA rulebook:

Use of Tobacco
ARTICLE 7. Players, squad members and game personnel (e.g., coaches,
athletics trainers, managers and game officials) are prohibited from using
tobacco products from the time the officials assume jurisdiction until the referee
declares the game over.
PENALTY—Disqualification. Dead-ball foul. 15 yards at the succeeding
spot

(This is irrelevant of course, since we've never seen Harbaugh use tobacco during a game).

I’ve actually been worried about this for years once Beckman at Illinois got suspended.   There has been times during games that it’s obvious he has a dip in.

Was Harbaugh enjoying a cigar on Saturday evening.. outside, in his backyard - around the fire pit with his dad and other members of his family?   Again?

Next thing you know, they’ll be calling out Harbaugh for “underage recruiting” when he visits elementary and junior high schools in the area.

Like the videos allegedly from iPhones, has anyone actually seen the dip?  Are we sure it's not mint or some cbd product to keep Coach calm?  I need actual proof not more circumstantial evidence!!!!!!  /s

He should give up the dip if it is in fact tobacco as a model for his young charges.  Don't give anyone any other reason to jump on JH.

I sure wonder why none of the supposed Stalions-acquired iPhone videos of future opponents have been leaked to the media (if any have, forgive me). My guess is they would give away the bullshit nature of the charges...the videos are probably total dogshit and nobody would believe a competitive advantage was gained from them.

(Ducks)

Jim openly dipping on the sidelines, with the can sticking through his khakis, is maybe my least favorite thing about him. Personal choice, common for NFL QBs of his time, etc., but it's such a disgusting habit with well-documented and harmful consequences, and he's a representative of the university. Probably should cut it out, and not just because of the NCAA.

I do wish Coach would quit dipping or at the very least try to conceal it more during televised games.  It's a tough habit to break and every time I see him on TV that lipper looks so tempting.

This is my fault… I was gifted a box of Cuban Cohiba Esplendidos and, dropped a few off for Harbaugh.   My sincere apologies to the Michigan faithful.

I used to love ‘Full Ride’. Listened to it every morning, even though Childers sounds like a clown who really doesn’t know football. Then I heard Neuheisel spewing about how JJ has been benefiting from knowing the signs, and how our wins are tainted over the last three years. Turns out he’s a clown as well, which is why he’s doing radio and not on the sidelines somewhere. Stopped listening. Won’t go back.
