THANK YOU!!!

 I needed that…

THANK YOU!!!

I needed that.  However, It just made me wish, a little bit more, that Harbs ran it back, and gave the kids in Maize and Blue another year to repeat.  Damn it!  Being such a great coach, and everybody wanting him, was a curse.  Love him.  What a year.

AWESOME! Thanks

AWESOME! Thanks

I could watch that all day. …

I could watch that all day.  Thanks.  Love Coach Harbs.  Was losing my mind when it was announced he was coming to Michigan.  Was thrilled he was here.  Bummed he's moving on.  Wishing him the best.  Grateful for the time we had him.

Good Luck, Jimmy!

At this point, he’s not…

At this point, he’s not changing the opponent because, does it matter? 2-7 in the Big Ten. I think Ellerbee was more successful quite honestly.

 Never wanted Harbaugh fired…

Never wanted Harbaugh fired. I thought it was ridiculous. Anyone who bled blue knew 3 things: 1) with Harbaugh’s track record, he would find his way back, 2) nobody wanted to win more than coach Harbs and 3) there really wasn’t anyone out there better!  I mean all criticism aside, which is what all some people want to do, there wasn’t any high level coach that was available or wanting to come to AA. It HAD to be him. Fortunately, it was.

Now fire Manuel! 🤣

Reading between the lines,…

Reading between the lines, this was fairly obvious and the reason that Coach Harbs wasn't settling in for the lifetime commitment.  He was at Michigan longer, mostly double the years, of any other stop.  IMO, if he would have been treated with the respect that he deserved, he would have been happy to hang his cleats up in AA for the duration.

Need to find a new AD, that much is obvious.

Bakich left because Warde…

Bakich left because Warde was unwilling to put money into baseball that was needed to compete with the teams in the south and out west, when our program was truly on the rise. So, Bakich gave up trying and left for a school that was invested in baseball.

Warde seemed to drag his feet with Harbaugh and his language when speaking of a Harbaugh was often less than flattering, bringing up Harbaugh’s less than stellar record in 2020.

We Michigan fans mocked Gee down in Columbus when he stated that he was worried about his job and getting fired by the current football coach, but that’s how things run elsewhere. I don’t believe the relationship was sound between Coach Harbs and Manuel and Harbs wasn’t allowed to be his own GM perse.

Whether Manuel should stay or not, it’s not for me to say. I’ll just say, I sure do miss Don Canham.

Awesome beating the Bucknuts…

Awesome beating the Bucknuts with the entire Fab Five sitting court side.  I'll take it.  Wish they could turn their season around and truly play consistently.  They're fun to watch when they get cooking.

I think Manuel has been…

I think Manuel has been dragging his feet which is why there are rumors that Harbs isn’t feeling the love. Manuel, when discussing, brought up 2020 in one interview and how people wanted Harbaugh fired. Why do you bring up the negative when discussing your lauded Coach as you are trying to make him feel welcome?

If Don Canham were here, it’d be a done deal.

I really think if Harbaugh leaves, there should be more questioning about the state of who is running our athletic department!

Someone mentioned Bakich. He put our baseball team back on the map. But, the athletic department was unwilling to put money into the program, into the facilities so he left to head down south where baseball matters.

Our basketball team is a joke. Honestly, I love Juwan, backed him, but when he started throwing haymakers at the Wiscy Coach it was a sign that things were headed in the wrong direction.

Do you really want to see the program flounder again for another 7 years as it did with Rich Rod and Hoke, or would you rather have Harbaugh continue to build it into national power?

I really question how well Manuel and Harbaugh get along and if there lies the rub.

Yep, had me crying'.  Not…

Yep, had me crying'.  Not gonna lie.  It's just AWESOME!  Especially seeing these 300 lb kids losing it or tucking confetti in their socks to preserve the moment.  God, they deserved every moment of that.  For me, the mid season stress of all of the allegations and the idea that this could have been taken away from all of the work these kids did to get here?  Cathartic!!  Thanks for making and thanks for posting.

How do we find that song?  I need it for my workout playlist! I think Bailey's "Who's got it better than us" has runs it's course.

100%!  If he doesn't have…

100%!  If he doesn't have the presence of mind to get back and secure that ball, to fall on it and take the hit, we lose that game.  I hope this kid realizes someday, it was a 'Big Boy' play.

Now, If it goes into the end zone, prior to him securing, and he falls on it there, by rule we get it at the 20 yard line, seeing he never had possession.

BUT!  Fortunately he didn't play it that way, because the chances are that someone beats him to the ball from that team in red and we lose.

Big play to secure that ball.  Humble kid.  I wish him much success wherever he lands.

I will definitely listen,…

I will definitely listen, thanks!  I have to say, that I was really impressed with JJ's take going into the game.  His love, his passion, his positivity was infectious.  He spoke of McCord as 'being his guy' and was really looking forward to enjoying the competition.  That attitude seemed to allow him to play loose and bled over to the team.  I guess that's the whole dynamic now, according to your post.  I think that's incredible.

I took my two boys, 13 and…

I took my two boys, 13 and 15, to the game, who are California born and raised. Second UM game for them, last year being at the freezing cold Illini game. Both are huge UM fans due to my allegiance and upbringing.  Every time I would start to hyperventilate, I would look to them. They aren’t jaded. They didn’t grow up watching Miami, yes that Miami, come back after Michigan dominated the entire game, or Kordell launch it for 60 yards. Hell, I was at the stadium when our  punter decided to pitch the ball to the streaking MSU player en route to the endzone. Thankfully, they kept me sane those last few minutes and we stormed that beautiful field!!

I used to love ‘Full Ride’…

I used to love ‘Full Ride’. Listened to it every morning, even though Childers sounds like a clown who really doesn’t know football. Then I heard Neuheisel spewing about how JJ has been benefiting from knowing the signs, and how our wins are tainted over the last three years. Turns out he’s a clown as well, which is why he’s doing radio and not on the sidelines somewhere. Stopped listening. Won’t go back.

I was truly surprised by the…

I was truly surprised by the lack of red in the stadium! Never been to a game against the nuts with so little red. There was a couple of rows at the top of the south endzone and that was it. One single nut behind me who was fairly quite all game. Nicely done, M fans.

Again, you said so…

Again, you said so succinctly what we Wolverines are feeling and what the situation really is: i.e. most 'insane month in history', 'non-stop chirping', 'penny-ante crap', etc.  So many who have played the game have come out to say that the rewards of signs is minimal and most if not all programs have an 'analyst' that steals signs, not just some lower level staff member, even.

Michigan has always, in past years, limited the playbook prior to 'the Game' in order to not show too much.  It seems as if this is the case.  Sherrone was willing to just run, run, run in order to survive in both of our last two games.  If you look at what the bucknuts did to survive against Maryland, they had to air it out.

Michigan, in my opinion, could have picked on the open spaces created by their constantly blitzing safety, who had what seemed like a hundred tackles, by airing it out, but did not.  I am hoping that the trend of Michigan opening up the offense continues and a more healthy J.J. is out there this coming Saturday.

Go Blue!

Thank you for this! You…

Thank you for this! You truly nailed it on so many levels. Grateful!

This is awesome. It’s what anyone with any knowledge and rationale would think. Thanks for posting.

I lived in Los Angeles for…

I lived in Los Angeles for over 30 years. I bought the LA Times just to read Murray’s column.  I think Plascke came along hoping to carry the torch, but who could.  I agree with you 100%, Jim Murray was the best.

Awesome post! Thanks! I…

Awesome post! Thanks! I never saw it televised because I was at that game with my dad. What a great day to be a Wolverine. I remember being a kid and thinking ‘Notre Dame, who?’, ‘Joe Montana, who?’, we’ve got Rick Leach!  Those Michigan teams of the 70’s were amazing.

Yes!! Love it!

Yes!! Love it!

Love the guy!!  Awesome…

Love the guy!!  Awesome coach.  Brought a winning attitude with him.  Go Blue!!

I really like Martelli's…

I really like Martelli's attitude/approach, which he talked about after the win against Rutgers: take each day and compete to win the day.  Michigan played lights out against a good Rutgers team that was hitting shots.  It's possible that they are inspired to win for their coach who is having to sit it out.  Just win one game at time.  Would love to see them get hot in the BIG tourney, a la the year they played in their practice jerseys in their first game and ran the table!

Go Blue!!

Coach Harbs punch to Jim…

Coach Harbs punch to Jim Kelly's face.  How did that go down?  Lead up?  Aftermath?  Re-creation on a 30 by 30?  I'd like to know.

Love it!  Hoping he does…

Love it!  Hoping he does well in the newly formed league.  Most NFL quality qb's are IN the NFL, so they are looking for the best outlying talent and he's up there, obviously.

The Michigan Panthers of old made Bobby Herbert a household name and gave him an NFL career.  Hoping it does the same for Shae.

I get all sides of the…

I get all sides of the argument; and, of course the University of Michigan is going to come out and apologize directly to de-escalate the situation.  Which, in turn, will make it easier to not have to dismiss Coach Howard.

Seeing the video, it is obvious that Howard is pissed off, regardless of whether you believe it is justified or not.  The Wiscy coach grabs his arm and is completely patronizing to coach Howard as he is walking by.  Just let him go!  You don't grab a man and begin to push your point of view on him in that situation.  You let him walk the hell by.  It all escalates and coach sees his players being manhandled.  Coach is not going to stand by, in that situation, and watch that happen.

Those trying to compare this to Woody Hayes are complete imbecile.  Yes, Howard was wrong to let his emotions get the best of him.  Yes, he will and should be suspended for a brief time.  No, he wasn't walking on the court to punch a student athlete in the face for stealing the ball.  Seriously, you are lost and confused individuals.

He will learn from this.  The team will rally.  I wouldn't be surprised if they played better down the stretch, fighting for a coach who has their back.

If, in fact, the University is not happy with him, they may use this as an excuse to move in a different direction.  I don't see that happing.

California has been good to…

California has been good to me!  I like the "1937".  My dad, a UM grad, was born in 1937.  He bleed Blue.

A majority of the talking…

A majority of the talking heads ARE clowns.  They throw crap at the wall in hopes that it sticks in order to make themselves relevant.  They are all guessing.  No one knows what's in Coach Harbs mind except him and his family.  It's a waiting game, in which, I hope Michigan steps up.

I hope he stays!  I don't…

I hope he stays!  I don't believe the team will be affected if he does, in fact, stay.  He may be telling them that's it's all for show underneath it all.  He may come out of it and tell the press that he loves Michigan more than anything else out there and this proved it.

...or, he may go.  Which would suck, in my opinion.  Especially with all the momentum that is headed our way in recruiting.  All that would be lost.

I liked MacDonald.  Bummer. …

I liked MacDonald.  Bummer.  A little consistency would be nice.  I get it.  People feared that Gattis would be lured away for a HC position.  MacDonald has an opportunity to climb the ladder.  He's got to take it, no doubt. But, Holy Hell, can we just have nice things for more than a year?

I will sleep a little easier…

I will sleep a little easier tonight.  Thanks for the post.  I, for one, like Coach Harbs and the trajectory that the program is heading.

Go Blue!

Let us not forget that Danny…

Let us not forget that Danny P is an Ohio guy.  Love all the comments.  It does crack me up to see those who are stuck in mediocrity making a living off of criticizing those who have actually climbed the mountain.  See: Kirk Herbstreit.

Nice guy!

I moved to L.A…

Nice guy!

I moved to L.A. in my early 20's.  Drove a limo between gigs for a friend who owned the company.  One night, I picked up Louie at his home in the Hollywood Hills.  He was doing a gig at the Laugh Factory on Sunset Blvd.  He invited me in to introduce himself and tell me he was going to be moment.  He was very gracious.  Shortly after, I drove him down to the venue and the place was a mob scene.  People around the block waiting/trying to get in.  He said that he didn't want to head in just yet, would I mind driving around.  Of course, I said, and I drove him around the Sunset Strip for about 30 minutes.  The whole time he asked questions about me, my career, etc.  When I told him that I was an actor between gigs he said, "Hollywood's gonna come knockin', kid.  I have no doubt.  And when they do, tell them to go fuck themselves.  Then they'll want you even more." And he broke out into his cackle of a laugh.  I'll never forget it. I dropped him off and the guy wished me luck.  The guy was about to go onstage, packed house, taping the show for TV, and he wished me luck.  That man was a rarity.

The firing of Schlissel…

The firing of Schlissel makes this all very intriguing. Harbaugh’s requests would be frowned upon by him, from what I’ve heard. Does that open the door to aid what needs must be met in order for Michigan to contend on a national level?
I think yes.

If it comes down to where Harbs wants to raise his children and NOT money? I’m sorry, but Vegas has nothing on AA.

Man, it's fun reading this…

Man, it's fun reading this post!!  Bringing back so many good memories!  Kickin' PSU's ass on reckoning weekend, or whatever the hell that was called, back in '97 was AWESOME!  Winning the Rose Bowl in '97 to win the Natty is hard to beat, especially being there live.

But, Biakabutuka running wild in '95 when we didn't have a chance brings chills down my spine just thinking about it!  He carried his team, their team, the whole damn stadium on his back!

Love it!! Go Blue!!

Love it!! Go Blue!!

Bingo!  Well said.  If…

Bingo!  Well said.  If Michigan acted as if they'd been there before, they would have come off arrogant.  Their true, honest emotion was a catharsis of what Michigan football has been.  I thought their excitement and emotion was amazing and has caught the college football world by storm.

Keep it going!

I saw Harbs that same year…

I saw Harbs that same year walking into the Rose Bowl stadium in his new white Stanford polo.  I wished him luck at his new job from a far and he walked over to shake my hand, thank me, and introduce me to the other 5 he was attending the game with.  Who does that??  Speaks volumes to his character outside of football.

I agree whole heartedly with your assessment on the losses to OSU, as well as MSU.  I was at the game where Michigan dominated against MSU only to have our Aussie punter fumble the snap due to the cold and make a beautiful lateral to a streaking MSU player.  People are looking at wins and losses and not character, effort and reality.

One thing that got me about Harbaugh, especially after that debacle to MSU and seeing how distraught he was, was fully realizing that he cared more than I did!  Sounds crazy, right?  So many forget this.  He's a Michigan Man, ultra competitive, who powered the team in his heyday and bleeds blue through and through.  We are so fortunate to have him.

Rumor in Eugene was that his…

Rumor in Eugene was that his team knew he was leaving well before their game against Utah and so they came out flat.

Can we take a moment, and look past wins and losses and realize how damn lucky we are to have a coach with the character that he has still roaming our sidelines?  With all of the undue bs that Harbs had to endure over the past few years, being at an all time high this past off season, yet, he came back with a m'f'ing vengeance!!

How easy it could have been to go ahead and jump to the NFL as all the rumors stated, or to leave to another program when his salary was being cut and stipulations were made.

But no!  Whether due to his sense of competition, his love for the University, or his just plain love for the kids he was coaching and wasn't going to leave them behind.  We got m'therf'ckin' lucky!

Let the coaching carousel continue out there! We've got our guy.  Go Blue!

His ability to run the game…

His ability to run the game and not get rattled was exceptional!  Many would have shied away from throwing the ball after that first pick, but he put in some terrific throws after that when Michigan really needed them.  It's a nod to the coach staff as well.  They were never afraid to go after it in the air and open it up as the season progressed.  So many were worried early on in the season that Michigan was going to be too one dimensional and that Cade wouldn't be able to sling it.  Thankfully, that wasn't the case.

Now beat the Hawkeyes!!  Go Blue!!

Bingo! Nailed it.

Bingo! Nailed it.

I love it!! It’s a way to…

I love it!! It’s a way to get in their heads. Harbs has been dealing with the shit they’ve been shoveling at him with every loss. Awesome to see him get over the hump and throw it back in their faces. This isn’t a one time deal. This is the pendulum swinging back the other way and putting the monkey on their asses. It was very apparent who wanted this game more. Keep that culture change brewing, Coach!

Go Blue!!

Awesome!!! Going to be…

Go Blue!!!

Awesome!!! Going to be…

Awesome!!! Going to be flying high for awhile!

Go Blue!!!

It's awesome to see how much…

It's awesome to see how much passion those kids have for their coaches.  So many like to criticize and dwell on the negative, but, clearly those assistant coaches are doing something right, if the kids are getting so excited for them to be acknowledged like they did after that win.

Awesome!!  Love it!  Thanks…

Awesome!!  Love it!  Thanks for posting.

What people are missing, is…

What people are missing, is that there are other factors beside scoreboard.  Michigan led in statistics, on the road, and controlled much of the game.  Our usual bad luck of bullshit up in EL haunted us, again.  Those watching, seeing points taken away by bad officiating, realize, that the better team didn't necessarily win.  Which is why UM only dropped a couple of spots in the AP poll.

As far as OU and OSU, it came down to an ill advised pass leading to an interception late, that cost OSU the game.  As the season progressed, OSU's qb has improved and they've been annihilating their opponents, while Oregon has struggled.  They went down to the wire against Cal and UCLA, both mediocre teams.

Chances are, the Buckeyes beat the Spartans in Columbus and if Michigan can take care of business ( does anyone know who the real Penn State is?), it will come down to our last game.

A three way tie for the Big East would put Michigan in the Big Championship.  Therefore eliminating everyones worries about MSU's feelings.

I was there!!  In the…

I was there!!  In the parking lot...

I was a kid at the time.  My dad, a UM Grad, had 10 season tickets in the south end zone.  I was fortunate to go to every game growing up.  Unfortunately, I was being harassed by the two buddies I brought, secretly buckeye fans, that Michigan was going to lose to Indiana.  To get them to stop chirping, I agreed to throw a football around in the parking lot outside the stadium with some time still on the clock, until my folks were ready to go.  As we were throwing it around, the stadium erupted.  Happy?  Absolutely.  A Michigan win was all that was important to me as a kid.  Crushed?  You bet.

Loudest crown I've ever seen…

Loudest crown I've ever seen for a Michigan game was in Eugene.  I saw the Wolverines play Oregon there on a couple occasions and it was deafening.  I believe it was due to the overhang they had there, seeing that they only have about 60,000 fans.  I do, however, believe they pipe in noise to add to the crazy fans.

As much as I like the added noise, I can't say that I care much for the look.
