I'll take the contrarian side here and ask what are we really leaving behind? A system where we tied with Nebraska as CFB champions? The BCS? The exploitation of athletes, while the NCAA continues to profit immensely?
If you believe that players should have the right to profit monetarily from their talents, it seems contradictory to be outraged when the league starts to look more professional. Yes, there will be those who lose out in this new structure. It's unfortunate, but we must recognize that college football is inevitably moving towards a super league setup.
I'm not losing sleep over this change. Keep key rivalry games, throw in a 16-team playoff, and you've got something that feels like a great mod from NCAA 2014. Not the death of the sport.
Fresh off of watching JJ youtube highlights, and I gotta say we should be no lower than second. Like, yes if we were just placing Cade's player profile in a vacuum, #4 is completely fair. But we live in 2 QB town baby. Our offense's utilization of JJ and Cade's Dragon Ball Z "fusion ha" will amount to a much more dynamic threat than Payton Thorne, and certainly more dynamic than that Texas dude who went 3-6 in conference play.
Except for the Taulia / McCord situation, we're on the same page this year. I lean toward McCord mainly due to the timing of when we face them in the schedule. November Maryland at the top spot? That's a no for me. I'll bet a dollar that Taulia is significantly hobbled by the time he faces Michigan.
It was great. Apart from 2021/2022 MIchigan football, they have to be my favorite M team of my lifetime. Burke gave a really nice speech, which was especially impressive given his rocky history with the university. They still seem super close. t was bittersweet to see John Beilein back at Crisler -- just an A+ human and wonderful ambassador for the university..
3) @MSU. I don't expect them to be good, but this is their Super Bowl.
4) @Nebraska. Lincoln is a very hard place to play + no more scott frost with a relatively talented group.
5) @Minnisota. They're losing Tanner Morgan, Ibrahim and a bunch of other key contributors, but it's away and the rest of our schedule is cupcake town. Maybe @maryland instead... But November Maryland..
