My guess is Rutgers having two recent coaches (Chris Ash and Schiano) that spent time at OSU. RU fans also probably thought that 2014's win over a garbage Michigan team was a sign of things to come and then Harbaugh came in and beat their ass almost every year since.

There was some hostility around Jabrill Peppers and Rashan Gary, back to back top national recruits from New Jersey coming to Michigan. Not that they would've gone to Rutgers if they didn't go to Michigan, but Rutgers fans seemed to harbor some resentment from that.

Say what you will about Connor Stalions, at least he did his own work.  What’s worse, studying way too hard for a final exam, or having someone hand you the answer key?

Interesting considering Harbaugh & Schiano have coached against each other in the NFL as well as college for decades. Kinda disappointing actually.

Here are the relevant questions:

  1. Has Purdue paid off last year's debt to OSU by sending the signs back that they recorded on Saturday?
  2. Have those signs been shared with Penn State and Maryland?
  3. Did Rutgers send the signs they stole this season to Purdue for last Saturday's game? (if so, that would explain why their coach was so incensed - he had the signs and still got his butt whipped)

We have to assume yes to all three.  At this point, we have to assume that it is our players and coaches against our opponent's players and all of the B1G coaches.  Probably sign-sharing, game planning, and video review all rolled into one.  It might explain how Purdue went against so many tendencies on defense (throwing in lots of zone when they had been all man all year), like a bowl team that had weeks to prepare.

Even with all of their collusion, they are just speed bumps on the way to the inevitable.  The rent is due for the B1G.

If all this is being released, doesn’t it most likely mean that the BIG isn’t budging? They wouldn’t release this info if they had made an agreement and ended this nonsense. So idk what to think of this

Correct. The B1G is not budging. This will continue. There will be a suspension given. Then we have to try to get an injunction.

Something I've wondered and not seen is how the timing might work on that. Is the B1G able to manipulate the timing of the suspension so that it's impossible to seek an injunction, like at 10 p.m. Friday night or something?

Yes but that would be in bad faith if they did that. If the Big Ten wanted to be above board they'd do it and give M time to talk in court. If not, then they're further pissing off M with what the admin clearly feels is a double standard.

The one thing is, JUB is saying this particular tidbit was only shared with Tony P today...he may actually change his tune

he may actually change his tune

I honestly hope so. Not holding my breath.

The bad faith thing, as far as I'm concerned, was left behind by the B1G awhile ago. But it's true that other people would see it as pretty transparent bad faith and maybe would not be willing to keep pretending the emperor is wearing clothes at that point.

Wolverine91, I also wonder where exactly we are in the process with the BIG Ten now. This is all speculation (which is what 99%+ of us are doing at this point) but I believe that  U of M received the BIG10  Notice of Violation on either Friday of last week or Monday of this week. It only gave U of M two business days to respond, which means that U of M must file a response by either today or tomorrow. The response certainly will include that the NCAA apparently said that it had no evidence of Coach Harbaugh's involvement as well as certainly many other good arguments. The ball will then be in the Big Ten's court. It can either lay the hammer on Michigan and ban Harbaugh for a season (certainly resulting in a lawsuit seeking injunction) or it can say that it will do nothing, pending the NCAA investigation, or anything in between. Now would be a good time for U of M to leak a little bit more, showing how ugly this will be if the BIG10 chooses the wrong path. The Big10 should back down, but I have no idea if this new commissioner is wise enough to do so or is getting advice from the right people. The Michigan side needs to have the mindset that it will be fully ready to go to war if the Big10 chooses the wrong path.

So basically all competitive advantage arguments go out the window? Because 2022’s glorious 45-23 was a game where they had our signs and we didn’t have theirs because they changed them. That’s how I interpreted this. Am I wrong?

From what I read earlier today on a story (cannot remember which one), these teams did not break any NCAA laws with sign stealing/decoding, but you cannot provide signs to a future opponent of a team you already played.  This goes against the B1G's sportsmanship bylaws. I wish I could find the article I read, but maybe someone who knows a lot more than me can confirm this?

Could you email attachments in the 90s? If not, I doubt the creators of advanced scouting rules envisioned a scenario where you instantaneously send a spreadsheet with this information, or else they probably would have made a rule against it. If you could send them, I'm really showing my youth.
