Ohio State opens as 30 point favorite against Michigan

This is the largest point spread in the rivalry since 1978, when the FBS and FCS split into separate divisions.

The previous largest point spread came in 2014 when the Buckeyes opened as 21-point favorites against the Wolverines. In other words, Harbaugh is leading one of the worst Michigan teams ever against Ohio State. Smoke them if you got them, boys.

You’d still take the points?  I think that’s a bad take.  That means if Ohio state scores a modest 50 points, we would have to score 20 points.  First, how does Michigan keep Ohio state under 50 (asking for a friend)?  Second, how does Michigan score 20?

ohio state simply does not treat us or this game like any other.  They will not relent.  They’re going to literally try to nuke our team.

Warde doesn’t wanna fire him. He’s hoping he leaves on his own perhaps? Back to the NFL. Texans, Chargers, Falcons, Lions, Jets, Bears, and maybe Broncos seem like the open spots. Hopefully it can happen, but that nfl timeline is jacked up. Nothing would happen until season is over which is Jan. The real question, do we hear an extension or parting of ways by 12-16 for signing day? Odd situation. Don’t think anyone knows what will happen.

If that’s the case, Warde has still failed.  Continuing to be radio silent when you’ve already made a decision does nothing but hurt this program.  Wait to fire him and you lose out on coaching prospects, let recruits out of their NLI and have guys transfer off of the team. Wait to sign him and recruits get nervous, as well as any current players who have decided to transfer simply because they don’t like the coaches.  There is simply no advantage to waiting to announce.  This is a complete failure of the administration.

I know a guy close to the program who has said it’s a 5 year extension with a pay increase. You have no reason to believe me, a random guy on the internet, but my source is someone who was on the team with Harbaugh in the 80s and has spoken with him recently. Could just be rumors, but I’m 100% expecting an extension.

If Warde was smart and wanted to do an extension, his base pay should drop substantially and his pay should all be tied to bonuses.  10win season? Bonus. Win over OSU? Bonus.  Win over State? Smaller Bonus. Playoff appearance? Bonus. Championship game? Bonus.

Harbaugh claims he's Meritrocity driven, make his pay tied to how well he does.  Years like this, he doesn't make shit.

Isn't the early signing period like 12/16 or so? If so, do you think they can wait that long? My money is we know in days. From a PR perspective you have to figure out how to play it though if you extend Harbaugh. Not great optics right before or after osu dominates this team but you can't keep jerking around as these kids need to know who the coach is going to be.

If the game is cancelled that would make announcing an extension much easier. I just think you have to let these young men and their families know what's going on.

It would be the most Michigan Football thing ever to have this recruiting class torn apart because of the waffling and then announce his extension in late December anyway.
