I was going to say the same thing. The coaching carousel is pretty much over this year. Early signing day and the transfer portal window have really sped up the coaching search process.

Everyone’s season has been over for at least a week. If anyone else was firing a coach, they would have done so by now. So barring a coach taking an NFL job or a scandal leading to a firing, there are no jobs left to take this season.

I would imagine he’ll get some NFL DC calls regardless of what happens with the Ravens. whether he’s interested or not, I couldn’t say. I’d also imagine Jim wants to bring that defense with him to the NFL if he does take a job. But taking another college job is very unlikely.

Honestly, if Michigan wins tonight, it’s all gravy as far as I’m concerned. Next year’s team is going to look so much different for both player and coach personnel that we can truly call this the end of an era.

All that’s left to do is when the whole damn thing.

Minter interviewed for the Eagles defensive coordinator job last year and will interview for other NFL gigs this year. Hopefully Michigan can keep him for a while longer, but he’ll head to the NFL at some point.

Clinkscale has been learning the defense from Mike and Minter and will most likely become DC if Minter leaves this year. He’s been due for a while to become a DC and would continue running the same defense. Not sure how he would call games, as he would obviously want to put his own stamp on it, but it would be very similar. The big difference would be adjustments. Minter is elite at them. Don’t know how Steve would do until live game reps

I mentioned a while ago this is the 1st time I have felt Harbaugh might actually go. Unfortunately, all the reports this time seem legit. Michigan will match any NFL offer, so it just depends on how Harbaugh feels about winning a Super Bowl.

I imagine Harbaugh will take Minter and Ben Herbert if he goes. Moore would likely become HC, Clinkscale DC, possibly Elston as co-DC to give him a better title and pay. Clink would get his choice of LB coach. Newsome would become line coach. Hart would stay. Jay is 50-50. Bellamy stays. The fact that Moore did so well while Harbaugh was suspended and Michigan possibly winning the championship has helped Harbaugh feel better about chasing his Super Bowl dream. Luckily if Harbaugh decides to stay he’ll sign a long contract and stop pursuing the NFL. In the meantime, Michigan has a chance to win a championship tonight and that’s all I am focused on!

Maybe I'm naive, but it's not obvious to me that Minter would jump to the NFL. Unlike MacDonald, his career has mostly been at the college level, and obviously his dad was a college guy. That said, good thing they gave Clink the Co-DC title.

As for the post title, doesn't he have to accept the request to interview before it becomes interviewing?

Like, I want this to be true but the formulative nature for really good college coaches, especially those with Minter’s pedigree, are to leap to the NFL or get your own HC job. I’d love for him to stay but he’s got the resume and the proof to reach his goals.

Lets just get this last W and then fly the coop.

I have to believe Clink has been groomed for this possibility since he got here. Harbaugh is not the type to prepare his assistants for advancement and not have a plan for when that happens.

Whether this signals that MacDonald will leave the Ravens and impact Minter's future as an NFL coach, I think he goes as part of a package with Harbaugh and Herbert. I think Jim Harbaugh is coaching his last game at Michigan, especially with a win tonight. I am hoping that doesn't happen.

But I just think Michigan will be looking for new staff and an uncertain roster depending on tonight's   championship outcome. I hate even thinking that because I hate coaching changes whether they come after good times or bad ones.

I think it's more likely Minter becomes the DC for Macdonald than the DC for the Ravens. Small chance he becomes Harbaugh's DC in the NFL, but I think he's as good as gone. But that's what happens when you hire great coaches

All part of the constant evolution in the game.  Good for Mac.  Nothing like lording over Buckeye fans that they were beaten by a DC who is now an NFL HC.  Nothing attracts young coaching talent like watching alumni succeed at the next level.

If only we win tonight and then Harbaugh and Minter go to the Commanders I would have a chance to watch my other football team be good again too.  One can dream.

rising star with ravens. would be great hire.

washington is trying to copy baltimore with the analytical approach. of course we need a GM first and then a coach so we'll see what happens but if he's hired here it would be pretty big.
