I'm adding an important game for consideration at maybe the #5 spot: Losing to Georgia in 2021. Yes, losses can be important and this one showed the players and coaches what it would take to win. And they went out and did it two years later.
I'm only UM football fan, so for me it was the moment in the 21 Ohio State game in the third quarter when everyone realized that the Ohio State's defense could not stop us. Not even the touchdowns, but their inability to stop Haskins at all.
This is why I love college football and Mgoblog. So many memories from these past nine years. From losing to Utah that first game (I remember who I watched it with) to my then six-year-old son losing his mind when Devion Smith disappeared in the pile and popped back out for a TD, to that last INT in the Natty. Thank you for helping me relive this all.
Iowa was important for those in the know (like us Mgoblog readers) that Michigan was a team that knew what it took to win and did that for each game. Not flashy, just how do we win and then doing it. That's a mature football team.
I've parked at the golf course and it's been ok. Tailgate there. Or do what others mention and park in Mountain View, eat/watch there, then take the VTA. You might uber back to your car if you can find one after the game.
For clothing, it will get cool once the sun goes down so bring something warm. I realize it's not Michigan in winter, but it's not hot either. Pants, not shorts. Warm jacket. Layers.
So hard to say because we were better than all of them. I saw Alabama in person so I lean that way. They were quite good, but you could see that we were better, and see that they knew it.

But none of us: not players, fans, coaches, administrators, ever gave up the push to get this special university and its team to the top where it belongs.
Credit goes to the players especially. My recent realization was that Denard saved Michigan football because even though we were not very good, at least he was so freaking exciting. Then Harbaugh and all those players. Then 2021. That was the year when we all knew it was coming.
I can honestly say that I knew team 144 was going to be special way back last January. You fellow readers probably did too. Thank you all, and goodnight.

A few thoughts: In this type of game with two opposing crowds, picking your end zone is a nice advantage. Most games it's not like that.
2) The outcome worked for us in this case so it's easy to be tricked into thinking that's how it had to be, even if subconsciously.
3) Going first and getting just 3 points seems like a disadvantage. But getting zero points seems like a large disadvantage.
4) But if you go second and other team gets 3, then I think you might not play as hard to get a touch down because you subconsciously know you can also get three and still be playing.
This preview and others plus the betting sounds like a blow out in which we cannot move the ball and get crushed by superstars on defense. Georgia 2021.
What’s crazy is we’re number one according to the committee and fancy stats and they are four. I don’t know what to think but it’s as if we’re Cincinnati.
As Michigan fans we seem to always focus on what makes Alabama good. Why not stop thinking about what they're going to do to us and start thinking about what we're going to do to them.
Think about the Ohio State game. They are an amazing team with crazy athletes. Yet I never felt like we were going to lose the game. Remember how we stopped Henderson and Harrison with no problem.
Our defense is elite. Our offense is experienced. We have elite players: Blake, Edwards, JJ, Loveland, Wilson. Let's go!
I love this. One thought that came to mind: When the predicted score differential is larger, does the predictive power increase. You'd think so, but who knows. I wondered this because out FEI score difference is 10.5 point vs. most on the first table, which as you said are near 50/50.

1. I woke up this morning determined to work hard today and get a lot done. Oh well.
2. This was my first Rose Bowl, and I can tell you it's a top 2 sporting experience. If you get the chance say yes.
3. It's so interesting how when you're at the game you can tell who's better very quickly. And we were for sure better. It was obvious.
