Are we only playing one half ?
October 31st, 2023 at 7:43 PM ^
If Michigan beats osu like all of us hope. I hope Harbaugh goes for 2 at least once
November 1st, 2023 at 10:28 AM ^
Yeah but the problem with that is you have the embarrassment of not converting the 2 pts. With a big lead I'd be happy with JJ throwing a 4th TD pass with under 2 minutes left.
October 31st, 2023 at 7:29 PM ^
Interestingly, when Reese posed the question to the group as to who they thought was the best team, no one said OSU.
I like our position here with a chance to "upset" OSU.
October 31st, 2023 at 7:29 PM ^
Perfect, its even better when "beat Ohio" is an "upset"
Their fan base will have a complete breakdown this year
October 31st, 2023 at 7:30 PM ^
And the committee did NOT take the sign stealing BS into consideration…as they should NOT!
October 31st, 2023 at 7:31 PM ^
Keep placing those chips on the team's shoulder!
October 31st, 2023 at 7:32 PM ^
Wouldn't mind getting to knock off the #1 team in the country on national television.
I don't know whether or not OSU "deserves" the ranking over Georgia, but they certainly have the better resume, so that's fine. Michigan will have a chance to earn this ranking. Everyone knew that November was where we were going to find out how good this team really is.
October 31st, 2023 at 7:32 PM ^
Not at all surprising based on who they’ve played so far.
Obviously win out and they are #1.
October 31st, 2023 at 7:33 PM ^
I’ll take it. Win the rest of the games and starting at #3 is fine
October 31st, 2023 at 7:34 PM ^
Bullshit. Win and all is solved
October 31st, 2023 at 7:34 PM ^
I was hoping we were 5, but I'll take 3. Good luck Buckeyes with the pressure that comes with being #1.
Boo Corigan said the CFP is just concerned with the best teams for the CFP and the sign stealing issue is an NCAA issue. He also said "Red River Shootout", which is what it really is. I like Boo!
October 31st, 2023 at 7:35 PM ^
PERFECT! Adds fuel to the fire as if this team needed anymore motivation!
October 31st, 2023 at 7:35 PM ^
Truly, these rankings don't change our season at all. If we win B1G East and the conference championship, we're in. Even if (highly unlikely) we lose to Penn State, if the tiebreaker goes our way and we beat OSU and win in Indy and go 12-1, we're in. We're not getting in the way OSU did last year (without winning the conference) so, again, the rankings just aren't going to matter.
October 31st, 2023 at 7:37 PM ^
Fuck the rankings... beat Purdue.
October 31st, 2023 at 7:45 PM ^
BEAR EVERYONE!
October 31st, 2023 at 9:16 PM ^
bear down!
October 31st, 2023 at 9:20 PM ^
Especially Cal and UCLA.
October 31st, 2023 at 7:38 PM ^
OSU #1 when the other team plays 10 guys
October 31st, 2023 at 7:39 PM ^
That's fine, though the explanation that UGA has a better SOS is a joke. Maybe by the end of season, given all the currently ranked teams they have through season end, vs our two, but definitely not now. This first ranking is about as relevant as the preseason polls. We just need to win out. Go Blue!
October 31st, 2023 at 7:40 PM ^
OSU has two pretty good wins under its belt even if I think ND and PSU are middling but it's sort of silly the committee seemingly ignored the fact they were also in dogfights for a while with the likes of IU and Wisconsin.
Anyway, UM still feels like the favorite to win the conference
October 31st, 2023 at 7:42 PM ^
You forgot Maryland too
October 31st, 2023 at 8:16 PM ^
Yeah, I couldn't remember the third game off the top of my head.
October 31st, 2023 at 7:41 PM ^
Suck it, Hater Dinich.
October 31st, 2023 at 7:41 PM ^
OH NO IMMMA GONNA CLUTCH MY PEARLS!!!
IF ONLY UM COULD PLAY OSU!
LOOKING FORWARD TO THE #1 SEED in 5 weeks baby
October 31st, 2023 at 7:42 PM ^
I think Oregon is going to sneak in - they look physical and to the eye test one of the top 4 teams in the country (rarely does anyone go to Utah and dominate) and the UW-Oregon game was a toss up. If Oregon didn't go Dan Campbell they win that but I respect them taking chances.
November 1st, 2023 at 5:39 AM ^
Herbie nailed it to, saying that Oregon is a team right now that nobody wants to play. If they win out, they will be in.
October 31st, 2023 at 7:44 PM ^
OHIO VS. THE WORLD
- Ran tattoo exchange ring, punishment was replacing Tressel with a 100x better coach in Urban
- Rules changed in 2020 mid-season to give them enough wins to make the Big Ten title game
- Got embarrassed at home in 2022 by biggest rival after vowing to never lose to them again, still backed into playoffs and lost
- Given preferential treatment to enter 2014 playoffs despite having the worst loss of all playoff contenders
- Gifted national championship in 2002 on hilariously soft PI call
- Drunk ass Hartline driving a tractor or some shit in the offseason and received no punishment (actual crime btw)
What else am I missing?

Endless academic fraud.

They're generally unsavory people to be around.
October 31st, 2023 at 9:09 PM ^
Now, this will date me. There was an article in Playboy decades ago... I don't remember who wrote it; I'm going to guess George Plimpton in the vein of Sidd Finch...about how OSU's players were secretly bred at Darby Dan Farms. Let them disprove it!
November 1st, 2023 at 11:21 AM ^
78,
LOL!!!
October 31st, 2023 at 7:44 PM ^
Clearly, OSU is 1 because the now known repercussions, to the committee, from one Christopher Day and his posse, are limitless.
October 31st, 2023 at 7:44 PM ^
TruStage is lurking outside the top 10 tho.
October 31st, 2023 at 7:47 PM ^
I don't understand the Georgia love. Neither they nor Michigan has played anybody, but Michigan has looked a lot better hamblasting cupcakes than Georgia has.
Plus, the Fates demand that the Game be a #1 vs #2 matchup.
Ultimately it'll all work itself out. I'm thinking M will probably jump Georgia if they beat Penn State.
November 1st, 2023 at 8:34 AM ^
We'll need to beat the hell out of PSU.
October 31st, 2023 at 7:48 PM ^
Id like to know where Lou Holtz is right now!
October 31st, 2023 at 8:57 PM ^
IMO, best post of the Day.

Did Rece Davis really say that new evidence is emerging every day in sign-gate???
And did someone on the panel really say OSU has the best win (at home over #11 Penn St), when Washington beat #6 Oregon???
November 1st, 2023 at 5:47 AM ^
He said they have the best wins (plural) with winning at ND and at home against PSU. The best win is Texas winning at Alabama. No one will argue that.
Any yes, he said new evidence emerges every day. These are smart people - why is it so fucking hard for them to question where this info is coming from and why it is being released every day or two? They act like the NCAA is uncovering new facts every day and releasing them. It is clear that it is a coordinated/strategic PR smear campaign, just like we see every day within our political world, and these dopes can't seem to see it. It makes me want to bang my head on the wall.
October 31st, 2023 at 7:50 PM ^
Harbaugh and the players are gonna be pissed OSU is ranked ahead of them. Expect Harbaugh to run up the score just a bit, something he rarely does, to show the committee UM is the most dominant team in college football.
Oh, and OSU has a bit of a trap game this Saturday, at Rutgers. Rutgers is 6-2, and Rutgers two losses were on the road.
#GoBlue
October 31st, 2023 at 7:50 PM ^
Georgia is undefeated and back-back reigning champions right? And OSU hasn’t even won their division the last two years right? And the team that was the reason they didn’t win their division they still haven’t beaten them this year, right?
October 31st, 2023 at 7:56 PM ^
OSU will be number 6 by 4 PM eastern on 11/25. More motivation for the good guys and still something to prove. Go Blue!
October 31st, 2023 at 7:59 PM ^
OSU as #1 is laughable to anyone who has watched college football this year. Regardless, by the end of November it won't matter.
October 31st, 2023 at 8:00 PM ^
I must be missing something. Either Notre Dame and Penn State are really good or everybody's really bad. Seeing how both Notre Dame and Penn State played after their tussles with Ohio State and I'm not seeing it. I'm going to be either way right or way wrong. Win out!
October 31st, 2023 at 8:00 PM ^
Fire up Rutgers!!!!!!
October 31st, 2023 at 8:03 PM ^
I'm fine with it. If anything, gives us more motivation to knock those cowards down again.
