Interestingly, when Reese posed the question to the group as to who they thought was the best team, no one said OSU.

I like our position here with a chance to "upset" OSU.

Wouldn't mind getting to knock off the #1 team in the country on national television.

I don't know whether or not OSU "deserves" the ranking over Georgia, but they certainly have the better resume, so that's fine. Michigan will have a chance to earn this ranking. Everyone knew that November was where we were going to find out how good this team really is.

I was hoping we were 5, but I'll take 3.  Good luck Buckeyes with the pressure that comes with being #1.

Boo Corigan said the CFP is just concerned with the best teams for the CFP and the sign stealing issue is an NCAA issue.  He also said "Red River Shootout", which is what it really is.  I like Boo!

Truly, these rankings don't change our season at all.  If we win B1G East and the conference championship, we're in.  Even if (highly unlikely) we lose to Penn State, if the tiebreaker goes our way and we beat OSU and win in Indy and go 12-1, we're in.  We're not getting in the way OSU did last year (without winning the conference) so, again, the rankings just aren't going to matter.

That's fine, though the explanation that UGA has a better SOS is a joke. Maybe by the end of season, given all the currently ranked teams they have through season end, vs our two, but definitely not now. This first ranking is about as relevant as the preseason polls. We just need to win out. Go Blue!

OSU has two pretty good wins under its belt even if I think ND and PSU are middling but it's sort of silly the committee seemingly ignored the fact they were also in dogfights for a while with the likes of IU and Wisconsin.

Anyway, UM still feels like the favorite to win the conference

I think Oregon is going to sneak in - they look physical and to the eye test one of the top 4 teams in the country (rarely does anyone go to Utah and dominate) and the UW-Oregon game was a toss up.  If Oregon didn't go Dan Campbell they win that but I respect them taking chances.

OHIO VS. THE WORLD

- Ran tattoo exchange ring, punishment was replacing Tressel with a 100x better coach in Urban

- Rules changed in 2020 mid-season to give them enough wins to make the Big Ten title game

- Got embarrassed at home in 2022 by biggest rival after vowing to never lose to them again, still backed into playoffs and lost

- Given preferential treatment to enter 2014 playoffs despite having the worst loss of all playoff contenders

- Gifted national championship in 2002 on hilariously soft PI call

- Drunk ass Hartline driving a tractor or some shit in the offseason and received no punishment (actual crime btw)

What else am I missing?

I don't understand the Georgia love. Neither they nor Michigan has played anybody, but Michigan has looked a lot better hamblasting cupcakes than Georgia has.

Plus, the Fates demand that the Game be a #1 vs #2 matchup.

Ultimately it'll all work itself out. I'm thinking M will probably jump Georgia if they beat Penn State.

Did Rece Davis really say that new evidence is emerging every day in sign-gate???

And did someone on the panel really say OSU has the best win (at home over #11 Penn St), when Washington beat #6 Oregon???

He said they have the best wins (plural) with winning at ND and at home against PSU.  The best win is Texas winning at Alabama.  No one will argue that.

Any yes, he said new evidence emerges every day.  These are smart people - why is it so fucking hard for them to question where this info is coming from and why it is being released every day or two?  They act like the NCAA is uncovering new facts every day and releasing them.  It is clear that it is a coordinated/strategic PR smear campaign, just like we see every day within our political world, and these dopes can't seem to see it.  It makes me want to bang my head on the wall.

Harbaugh and the players are gonna be pissed OSU is ranked ahead of them.  Expect Harbaugh to run up the score just a bit, something he rarely does, to show the committee UM is the most dominant team in college football.

Oh, and OSU has a bit of a trap game this Saturday, at Rutgers.  Rutgers is 6-2, and Rutgers two losses were on the road.

Georgia is undefeated and back-back reigning champions right? And OSU hasn’t even won their division the last two years right? And the team that was the reason they didn’t win their division they still haven’t beaten them this year, right?

I must be missing something. Either Notre Dame and Penn State are really good or everybody's really bad. Seeing how both Notre Dame and Penn State played after their tussles with Ohio State and I'm not seeing it. I'm going to be either way right or way wrong. Win out!
