Posted this in the "diary" thread but between Shea's comments, Gattis' hire and his use of the #SpeedInSpace, I think it's safe to say Coach Harbaugh "gets it" and all offensive weapons will be fully weaponized from here on out.

Yes. No.

He will continue to be a situational player. Let’s not pretend he was on the field every down this year. JH won’t stop using FBs even as the offense evolves. And Mason can be extremely dangerous as an offensive weapon as well, since he is athletic and you don’t know if he’s going to block you or run by you.

Something I think of (and it's not apples to apples, but it's a comparison) is Beilein telling Teske if he doesn't shoot 3's he'll put him on the bench, an actual thing John Beilein did say. If you force guys to expand their games, and then actually give them the opportunity to do so without punishment, it will make the team less predictable and in turn give the play calling more freedom. Look what it's doing for the basketball team, everyone on the floor is a threat to score.

Looks like the coach took a look under the hood and said this offense has a lot unused lithium and deuterium for an explosive offense.

Hand that man the keys to the offense!  Manball meets basketball on grass.  We'll be able to hear football being played but listen closely because it'll be going 100mph!

It gives us a better chance when the D can't stop a fast offense 2-3 times a year.  It'll  obliterate the bottom 75% of the Big Ten.

As long as Ed doesn't get anywhere near a head set and Harbaugh keeps his on mute it should look a lot like Penn State's offense.  Which looks similar to the OSU 2012-14, '17 offense.  Those offenses made a lot of people look silly.

Thats what we're getting.  He was at Bama one season so don't expect Tua and 4 five star RB's. and coached under Moorehead at Vandy and PSU for a half dozen.  Zone read, spread passing concepts, 50/50 run pass split.  Lots of Buck Sweeps and counter treys.

PSU had a lot of success with Moorehead putting guys in space and running zone read.  If Shea can run like McSorely or Barrett in the zone read it should work well. Those two weren't speedsters but they could get 6 when they needed 5 most of the time.

Its a lot to ask a first time play caller to walk into a situation where the HC is known to be a little stubborn and the other offensive coach thinks he should be a HC by now.  It'll look like a clown show at first.

Interesting note, this is Shea Patterson's 4th OC and 4th system change in 4 years.  FR Air Raid, SO Read option, JR Pro...
