Of all the people in the world to sexually harass Tucker chose Brenda frigging Tracy? What a wanker!

EDIT: Well, give the man credit, he has learned a lot from this. My favorite tear-out quote from the USA Today piece:

“To say that I have learned from this situation is an understatement,” Tucker wrote in a letter to the investigator on March 22. “I will never again allow myself to be duped by kindness.”

The fact that this has been a burning issue at MSU since before March. . .

Seriously…of all the people you choose the person who has made it her life’s mission to educate people and fight sexual abuse?

Brenda Tracy’s mission is a good one. Helping young men gain awareness can save a lot of people a lot of pain.

I hope other programs don’t slow their efforts to engage with her.

If true, Tucker deserves to be fired. Even a consensual relationship as described with a vendor to the school is inappropriate and unethical.

EDIT: Got rid of my last few sentences after the above. Mea culpa. I totally misread the the article and thought some Tucker quotes about what Tracyb said were actually Tracy's own words and thus it seemed to my confused mind that she had admitted to some inappropriate conversations and actions. Though regardless if Tucker isn't lying about what Tracy said, non-consensual phone sex is wrong under any circumstance.

Not sure about professional protocols on her side. My first thought was that a woman is allowed to be interested in a guy. We sometimes make the mistake of thinking the woman also culpable when being interested is totally okay; it's unwanted advances that are not. She may have been unprofessional, too; I just didn't catch that/don't know how that would work.

You get the gist of his complaint but "duped by kindness" is either a very weird way of expressing it or a very weird view of the world.

So, maybe there won't be the usual "spend more time with family" rationale.

[EDIT: a very weird view of the world that sees kindness as the problem.]

The problem, as the USA Today article points out, is that there are no recordings and this is basically he-said/she-said. Maybe they could argue pattern of behaviour but the odds of Tucker litigating any firing with cause would be quite significant. Without clear evidence he likely prevails and still receives his $80 million. Given the timing here one wonders who leaked this content (which really should be confidential for all involved parties).

This is the same band of idiots that circled the wagon for nerd rage, red lock, that played a guy a the same week he got released from jail. Indeed, the same people who repeatedly covered for Larry Nassar and for whom, every negative against their university relates to some mythical and imaginary "blue wall' or similar conspiracy.

I'll believe it when I see it.

But I suspect this is going to be used as the "with cause" for getting out of his contract. So I think it's going through. These are not your usual East Lansing settings and circumstances. They weren't on the hook for $95 millions it the things you are talking about.

In addition to the lack of morals, the idiocy of Tucker is outrageous.

He could have lost every game during his contract and made his $95M.

Yet, he decides to risk it all to have phone sex with a well known woman’s advocate for protecting women against sexual assault. Then he admits to it when it could have been he said/she said.

He is done at MSU based on what he has admitted to. He was already living on borrowed time at MSU

But he will surface again in a couple years somewhere else.

Wtf Mel. A woman who had made it her life’s mission to educate young men and fight sexual abuse?

Extra sick and extra stupid.

It's more than he said/she said. Two examples:

• He lied to investigators by denying denied he was in Florida for his masturbatory performance.

• He appears not to understand his responsibility when he claimed in most recent statement that he "did not engage in misconduct by any definition," when what he did as a university leader and married man is misconduct by definition.
