Initially denying a FOIA request that implicates employee privacy in the context of an early investigation into sexual harassment allegations is a no-brainer. MSU’s attorneys are no doubt advising them to buy themselves time and make people file a lawsuit before turning over any sensitive information. Turning over information hastily or improperly would create its own risks.

This is why they say sexual assault/harassment is often about power, not sexual gratification. You don’t harass a rape survivor because you’re horny. You do it because you believe you’re entitled to exercise dominance over another human being, and you want to prove that by targeting the most vulnerable person you can. Mel Tucker is a sociopath.

Mel Tucker is a sociopath

I mean this has been very obvious for a while and MSU fans fervently deny it. From the smoking cigars pictures to the inserting himself into MSU and recruiting photos that he doesn't need to be in to the driving recruits around his Slingshot, it's always been the Mel show since he got there

Tinfoil hat theory: Matt Ishbia dropped the news dump before the Washington embarrassment to save the university from that contract. He’s playing chess not checkers.

Tucker flew to Florida on MSU business using a “donor’s private plane.” He engaged in phone sex during this trip and lied about it by saying the call happened in East Lansing, allegedly.
More tinfoil: was it Ishbia’s plane? Does he know about the investigation because he was asked about Tucker’s use of the plane?

1. First off, if Mel, with a $95 MM contract decided to grab-arse or make Austin Powers style comments about sex in the workplace, then he's dumb enough to get canned.

2. This is probably an attempt by a Sparty sympathizer to get his team to "win one for the Tucker" vs. a Washington team that should hang half a hundred on these clowns.

3. Please may this one pass over MSU - we need the guy around at least a few more years!

Which part is an attempt?

The allegation? It's from Brenda Tracy, look her up.

That it's leaking now? Hard to say, this is from a while back. These things can't be sat on forever. And that it would be a "win one for the gipper" type rah-rah moment is not the most likely reason to drop this now.

"According to her complaint, Tracy sat frozen for several minutes while Tucker made sexual comments about her and masturbated. His violation, she said, reopened 25-year-old wounds from her rape by four men – three Oregon State University football players and a high school recruit.

“The idea that someone could know me and say they understand my trauma but then re-inflict that trauma on me is so disgusting to me, it’s hard for me to even wrap my mind around it,” she told USA TODAY. “It’s like he sought me out just to betray me.”

Y I K E S.

He never struck me as the most ethical human being alive, but that is fucking atrocious.

I was never inclined to write "I like Mel Tucker" on this board, but I also never thought I would say, "What the Tuck?" without cringing.

This story, if even a little true, is not just a contract termination, but likely a career killer, and puts this man into hiding. If this is his third offense and it's this blatant and clearly intentionally targeting a victim...he's done. I'm done with his name on these boards.

Not according to these bros:

"Honestly I’m with you. So the sexual assault advocate is freaking out about him masturbating over the phone. Is that really worth destroyed our football program over for the next 5 years? I’d prefer if the school rallied around him and put MSU #1 for once. Like you said, the PR will be awful anyways. MSU against the world."

"He had phone sex with Brenda Tracy, during company time.

Apparently that makes him just the worst of the worst and he deserves as much punishment as possible. And also a very bad man to be a leader of young men.

Bad judgement, yes.

Fireable offense no. And I’ll stand by that."

In reading the USA Today article there is a lot going on. Just wow. You think coaches with money, power, influence etc. would think through various decisions...

One wonders what his wife Jo-Ellyn thinks about this...

Wait, you’re telling me it’s not ok as the Head Coach to rub one out on the phone with a rape survivor?
