Part of my point is that coming back next year won't help him anyways, so he might as well go start getting paid and playing full time.
October 14th, 2023 at 3:38 PM ^
The offensive tackles are a problem.
October 14th, 2023 at 3:39 PM ^
The sacks of JJ today were the only thing that concerned me. Indiana defenders were breaking through the OL wall with more regularity than expected. Otherwise the offense looked great. The Benjamin Hall preview for next season looks tasty.
October 14th, 2023 at 4:35 PM ^
Between Mullings and Hall and Jordan Marshall, next season’s forecast calls for a lot of thunderstorms.
I loved how Hall looked today—dodging guys in the backfield, making cuts, pushing the pile, picking up pass pro.
October 14th, 2023 at 5:05 PM ^
Hall is 5'11" and weights 234lbs. Mullings is 240+lbs.
I wonder what Ben Herbert will do with Hall after this season.
Maybe Cabana will be the lightning next season.
October 15th, 2023 at 2:09 AM ^
Edwards? Doubt he goes pro the way his season is going.
October 14th, 2023 at 3:44 PM ^
Looking forward to the absolute BEEF in the backfield next season with Mullings, Hall, and Marshall.
October 14th, 2023 at 4:19 PM ^
Especially because we may be looking at another run first Michigan offense next year and with those guys I feel like we will be in really good shape.
October 14th, 2023 at 3:46 PM ^
Blake - 2 TD's
Roman - 1 TD
Donovan - 1 TD
Colston - 1 TD
JJ - 3 TD's
That's a pretty good formula
October 14th, 2023 at 3:46 PM ^
AJ Barner was the transfer I was least excited about this past offseason, but he's clearly the best newcomer on either side of the ball.
October 14th, 2023 at 4:41 PM ^
When he non-chalantantly grabbed that back shoulder throw my first thought was 'wow this guys gonna be in the league for a while'. He might not be a TE1, but with the rise of the lethal pass catching TE in the NFL and his ability to run block too, he's gonna be a long time TE2 on some team at minimum
October 14th, 2023 at 5:07 PM ^
AJ Barner is also an excellent blocker. The coaches love it.
October 14th, 2023 at 3:50 PM ^
Scored 52 points last 3 quarters and played with poise and good response right after Indy got first td. JJ excellent. Blake excellent. Don had a nice game. So did B. Hall. Hope everyone came out healthy and Mullings is back next week. Feels like this team is building up for a big November.
October 14th, 2023 at 3:56 PM ^
Remember when it use to be all you could do on cold rainy days was run the ball?
Gave up too many TFLs. Other than that, 52 straight points was cool.
October 14th, 2023 at 3:58 PM ^
It’s nice to finally be able to pass effortlessly when the run isn’t there.
October 14th, 2023 at 4:00 PM ^
After THAT first quarter, they still put away Indiana so thoroughly the back were playing in the 4th quarter. So, blowout IU in 2 (?!) quarters of football. Impressive, very impressive.
October 14th, 2023 at 4:02 PM ^
AJ Barner is a player. Not much lacking in his game.
October 15th, 2023 at 12:34 AM ^
I completely agree. He is a Harbaugh glue guy and a plus offensive weapon. Great blocker, always in the right position, good hands, good route runner. He doesn't have Loveland's speed or moves in the open field but I don't wonder why he gets so many snaps. The plays he makes on a consistent basis is a big reason why we are winning with ease. The dude is a really good football player.
October 14th, 2023 at 4:06 PM ^
Enough JJ runs. Second leading in attempts? No. No. No.
October 14th, 2023 at 4:46 PM ^
The sacks are much more concerning.
Take away those 4(!) and he had 6 rushing attempts. Pretty good number for him and will probably be need to be close to double that against better opponents as the season wears on.
October 14th, 2023 at 5:10 PM ^
The OL missed some key blocks in those first 2 sacks. Am not sure to just credit the Indiana DL or some keys misses by the M OL.
October 14th, 2023 at 4:09 PM ^
OL needs to improve a bit in order to complete the team's overall dominance.
October 14th, 2023 at 4:10 PM ^
Similar to the defense in the first quarter, it seemed like the offense had to get revved up in the cold and wet environment of Ann Arbor. Once that happened, things went much better.
The only big issue I saw -- and I think it will be an issue going forward against better DLs -- was pass pro. Yeesh. I think the tackles will come in for some major minuses, especially in the first half. Sieve city, and I wonder if it is what it is at this point. JJ, though, he's got it all, and he can mitigate a lot of the OT issues. He can move and roll out both directions and throw on the run. He really is something special.
October 14th, 2023 at 4:40 PM ^
Agreed, going to need lots of max protect against PSU
October 15th, 2023 at 1:07 AM ^
Lots of stunting, twists that got through before offense coaches Dx’d them & remedied. Two series to get adjustments in. Quick, effective. The eval needs to be on team reaction time to adjust & shut down, not that the rushes happened at all. IU coming off bye, time to put in some things to mess w M. Working for two series doesn’t mean a lot in a, what, 12-possession game? Key is to not let possessions get away while figuring things out.
October 14th, 2023 at 4:16 PM ^
It's hate week.
October 14th, 2023 at 4:40 PM ^
Mildly concerned about the sacks, but they were pretty much just that one player.
outside of those very solid and efficient minus quarter 1.
Defense aided them with field position all day, and they lost took great advantage of it
October 14th, 2023 at 5:07 PM ^
Pass protection better improve before we play PSU and OSU!
October 14th, 2023 at 5:14 PM ^
Pretty sure the assistant coaches will have something to really work on at practices. They might pass out some low grades after looking at the film.
Pass pro did better after the 1st quarter but they can't afford to start the game that slowly going forward.
October 14th, 2023 at 5:19 PM ^
If the pass pro doesn’t improve Sparty will take advantage of it too.
October 14th, 2023 at 5:59 PM ^
My only slight nit pick is it seemed like Barhart had a rough day today.
October 14th, 2023 at 6:16 PM ^
Wrong thread.
October 14th, 2023 at 6:19 PM ^
Casey please transfer to Michigan
October 14th, 2023 at 6:38 PM ^
I like that the starting 5 on the offensive line is pretty clear now. A.J. Barner gonna get a nice lil UFR score this week, too. Also, Loveland.
Benjamin Hall, The Hart Recruit, looked pretty good as a rolling ball of knives. Someone named "Danny Hughes" got a carry for 6 yards? A walkon?
October 15th, 2023 at 12:21 PM ^
Yes. Walk-on. The last play of the game.
October 14th, 2023 at 6:45 PM ^
I was worried about what happens next year if/when Blake and DE leave for the league after the season, but Mullings has been a revelation recently, and Hall looked good in mop-up duty today. Throw in Jordan Marshall and we may just keep on rolling!
October 14th, 2023 at 7:08 PM ^
I didn’t like the way the whole Edwards thing in the first half went down.
However, his excitement for Semaj Morgan (another former WB player) on his excitement showed that he was able to move past that and put his team first
October 14th, 2023 at 9:35 PM ^
They should’ve left him in, he did most of the work to get them to the redzone
October 14th, 2023 at 8:56 PM ^
Someone please teach Corum to pause for a second on the flee flickers to suck the defense in before pitching it back.
He gives it back to JJ so fast as if he is playing hot potato.
October 14th, 2023 at 9:54 PM ^
Yeah I’ve noticed that too lately. He doesn’t sell it at all.
October 14th, 2023 at 9:22 PM ^
Hard to complain after scoring 52, but we have to cut down on the sacks on JJ
October 14th, 2023 at 9:26 PM ^
Loved the gutsy play in the 2nd and 3rd quarter and the back ups hanging tough! hall is going to be fun to watch.
Also I thought Barnhart did a good enough job on one of the sacks its just that JJ was high in the pocket. It seemed that if he had climbed the pocket may not have been sacked. But wow! What a QB we have here!
October 14th, 2023 at 9:50 PM ^
I appreciate how few hits JJ has taken so far but I also wonder about this OL in pass pro at times. Hopefully they can stand up to a better pass rush when we get to that point…
October 15th, 2023 at 10:30 AM ^
Tom Allen has always produced defenses with TFLs and Sacks. It's his thing. He has great blitz packages.
October 14th, 2023 at 10:37 PM ^
ESPN just flashed up a stat: first time in Michigan history that they've scored 45+ in three straight Big Ten games. That's bonkers.
October 15th, 2023 at 12:01 AM ^
The defense that held Ohio State to 10 points and played great until running out of steam, thar held Marvin Harrison to two catches? Michigan just hung 52 points on that defense in a sloppy effort.
October 15th, 2023 at 9:46 AM ^
It is amazing how efficient our offense can be when our defense isn't running back every interception!

video was sent to me , didn't want to make a separate post for it Not sure who runs that page and if it's allowed just thought it was a cool video of both JH & JJ .. Enjoy
October 15th, 2023 at 10:46 AM ^
With Corum and Edwards likely both gone next year, I feel pretty damn good moving forward with Mullings and Hall as our work horse backs next season. Hall looked fantastic today. Great vision, sets up and uses his blocks really well, and grinds out like 2-3 extra yards after contact
October 15th, 2023 at 10:56 AM ^
Harbaugh almost had a heart attack when JJ took that hit in Q3. I did too. He will clamp down the happy feet moving forward.
