This is the thread for hot takes about the offense and the offensive playcalling.

The sacks of JJ today were the only thing that concerned me.  Indiana defenders were breaking through the OL wall with more regularity than expected.  Otherwise the offense looked great.  The Benjamin Hall preview for next season looks tasty.

Scored 52 points last 3 quarters and played with poise and good response right after Indy got first td.  JJ excellent.  Blake excellent.  Don had a nice game.  So did B. Hall.  Hope everyone came out healthy and Mullings is back next week.  Feels like this team is building up for a big November.

After THAT first quarter, they still put away Indiana so thoroughly the back were playing in the 4th quarter. So, blowout IU in 2 (?!) quarters of football. Impressive, very impressive.

I completely agree.  He is a Harbaugh glue guy and a plus offensive weapon.  Great blocker, always in the right position, good hands, good route runner.  He doesn't have Loveland's speed or moves in the open field but I don't wonder why he gets so many snaps.  The plays he makes on a consistent basis is a big reason why we are winning with ease.  The dude is a really good football player.

Similar to the defense in the first quarter, it seemed like the offense had to get revved up in the cold and wet environment of Ann Arbor. Once that happened, things went much better.

The only big issue I saw -- and I think it will be an issue going forward against better DLs -- was pass pro. Yeesh. I think the tackles will come in for some major minuses, especially in the first half. Sieve city, and I wonder if it is what it is at this point. JJ, though, he's got it all, and he can mitigate a lot of the OT issues. He can move and roll out both directions and throw on the run. He really is something special.

Lots of stunting, twists that got through before offense coaches Dx’d them & remedied.  Two series to get adjustments in.  Quick, effective.  The eval needs to be on team reaction time to adjust & shut down, not that the rushes happened at all.  IU coming off bye, time to put in some things to mess w M.  Working for two series doesn’t mean a lot in a, what, 12-possession game?  Key is to not let possessions get away while figuring things out.

Mildly concerned about the sacks, but they were pretty much just that one player.

outside of those very solid and efficient minus quarter 1.

Defense aided them with field position all day, and they lost took great advantage of it

Pretty sure the assistant coaches will have something to really work on at practices. They might pass out some low grades after looking at the film.

Pass pro did better after the 1st quarter but they can't afford to start the game that slowly going forward.

I like that the starting 5 on the offensive line is pretty clear now. A.J. Barner gonna get a nice lil UFR score this week, too. Also, Loveland.

Benjamin Hall, The Hart Recruit, looked pretty good as a rolling ball of knives. Someone named "Danny Hughes" got a carry for 6 yards? A walkon?

I was worried about what happens next year if/when Blake and DE leave for the league after the season, but Mullings has been a revelation recently, and Hall looked good in mop-up duty today.  Throw in Jordan Marshall and we may just keep on rolling!

I didn’t like the way the whole Edwards thing in the first half went down.

However, his excitement for Semaj Morgan (another former WB player) on his excitement showed that he was able to move past that and put his team first

Someone please teach Corum to pause for a second on the flee flickers to suck the defense in before pitching it back.

He gives it back to JJ so fast as if he is playing hot potato.

Loved the gutsy play in the 2nd and 3rd quarter and the back ups hanging tough! hall is going to be fun to watch.

Also I thought Barnhart did a good enough job on one of the sacks its just that JJ was high in the pocket. It seemed that if he had climbed the pocket may not have been sacked. But wow! What a QB we have here!

I appreciate how few hits JJ has taken so far but I also wonder about this OL in pass pro at times.  Hopefully they can stand up to a better pass rush when we get to that point…

The defense that held Ohio State to 10 points and played great until running out of steam, thar held Marvin Harrison to two catches? Michigan just hung 52 points on that defense in a sloppy effort.

With Corum and Edwards likely both gone next year, I feel pretty damn good moving forward with Mullings and Hall as our work horse backs next season. Hall looked fantastic today. Great vision, sets up and uses his blocks really well, and grinds out like 2-3 extra yards after contact
