Friday Night BBQ, Beverage and Rooting for Missouri Thread

Submitted by XM - Mt 1822 on December 29th, 2023 at 6:22 PM

Mates,
Friday night of a holiday weekend.   It's also the time when bowl games start to count, and one of the first is our friends down at TCDS (Those Cheaters Down South) take on the Missouri Tigers at 8:00 on ESPN.  Please, Tigers, wear that block-M with ferocity and whip those hairless nuts.

Also, what is on your BBQ, in your cup, and on tap for the weekend?  What are the New Year's Eve plans?

Happy New Year everybody,

XM

Fuck Mizzou...I forgot, their coach is the one who keeps trolling Michigan.

Fuck both of these teams.

I hope it ends in a 0-0 tie sometime tomorrow morning.

I hate that I have to respect JT Tuimoalau (sp?) but he seems like, if not an elite edge rusher, a quality player who works hard and is excellent at non-flashy stuff and is legit classy. The way he reacted and our guys communicated with him after the Zinter injury said a lot.

Drinking hot tea with honey and lemon.  Visited my family in Michigan over Christmas and came home with a head cold

EDIT: I feel awful, but overall I think I'm better than OSU's offense.  They look horrible.

Brown is pretty much locked on to Egbuka, no other offense so far. Missouri figured that out on the screen pass attempt. Missouri cost themselves 20 yards not catching that punt.

Two Brandon Peters-type completions to get a couple of firsts but otherwise another mess of a possession by OSU. No serious downfield looks at all, two false starts, re-running that WR screen that Brown totally missed in the first series and getting devoured behind the LOS.

Their third-and-forever call was a PA that was supposed to go to a guy at the LOS for some reason.

If this turns out to be an OSU loss, it's kind of a best-case scenario for the "what does it mean for Michigan" bit, because this offense looks visibly unserious.

"Why didn't Michigan pass with two minutes to go on 3rd and long?" I ask weakly as Missouri's QB grounds the ball because both OSU DEs were sprinting at him unabated.

BTW, no way I'm touching a basketball snowflakes cesspool, but Michigan's making my "give Juwan more time" position look less tenable. Can't say I'm regretting not having B1G plus.

But then, B1G plus is awful, so even a good basketball team wouldn't make me regret that.
