Darnay Holmes' ballz shifting to OSU

Submitted by llandson on

Multiple crystal ballz in the past day, including Wiltfong, have Darnay Holmes going to OSU.

It is sickening that the referees' impact on the outcome of The Game has repercussions long beyond just this season. I doubt OSU would have the momentum it does with all of these out-of-state 5-stars if it was UM in the CFP and OSU in the Orange Bowl.

I thought he was still considering UCLA, and I have just recently heard some OSU buzz. I really, really do not want him going there. That would be 3 five star corners I'm pretty sure. Sickening

including from writers on this blog, and they all conclude, factually, the same way: recruiting ratings guarantee nothing, but the higher rated your team talent is, the better your team does. Just one stat: 9 of the last 10 national champs had a class rated either 1 or 2 in the two years before they won.

I believe most OSU Insiders have Shaun Wade leaving the class for Alabama, and I still think we see a little attrition from the mid-tier of the class. Still going to be one of the best recruiting classes of all time, it'll be up there with the class Urban Meyer signed in 2010 at Florida. That class has the highest composite of any class ever and promptly won 4 straight national championships*.

*(They actually went 8-5, before Urban left, 7-6, 11-2, and 4-8).

I don't think The Game made a huge difference. OSU was in the playoffs regardless.

What made a huge difference is the NFL Draft being 50% Buckeyes and 50% The Field. When we get a bunch of players drafted this year, it will help with recruiting.

I highly doubt OSU makes the playoff if we would've won. Regarding the draft, I do agree it will help if we can get a couple of guys picked in the top 10 and a few others in the first round. I don't think it makes much of a difference if your guys are all drafted in the later rounds. The fact OSU had two of the top four players drafted was a huge boost.

Michigan is due for an upset soon right? We've only waited 15 fucking years. The worst part is, no matter how close the Game was this year, the stupid pundits will still laugh off Michigan's chances b/c we are perennially viewed as OSU's bitch.

I don't think our team will be THAT much of a rebuild next year in that we can't potentially beat OSU at the Big House.

I'm sure they'll be ranked #1 coming into that game. Meh.

tide turns, but the belief in sports that  some team or some player is "due" for a win/hit/basket etc is one of the dumbest fallacies in the world.  I'm also "due" to win the lottery next week.

They have averaged 4-5 stars in their defensive backfield forever! Doesn't mean that they'll win forever! The gap is closing! For those that don't think referees have anything to do with game outcomes are in fact; blind! It's ok because some people mistaken facts for, tears! GO BLUE!
