Really? Did he murder a cat? Steal a car?

If you were offered a million as a 17 year old I am sure you would have been so mature to turn it down.  Also have you seen the women at UCLA?  Pretty damn nice weather too.

Again don't think like you now, think of you as a 17 year old dude who potentially is the talk of campus as the star of the football team.  Be real people.

Most important, why did Harbaugh continue to pursue a player that was not a culture fit???

I'm in my 40's and I'd go play QB for UCLA right now, even though I would in all likelihood last 1 play and be permanently injured.

I can't ever blame the guys who go somewhere to get paid immediately. Especially with the transfer portal.

Why not go literally anywhere that's offering the most cash up front and then transfer?

I want all of the local kids to end up being successful, and hope Dante lives up to his HS hype....but if I had to be honest, not sure I want Moore if it costs us J. Davis. Think I'm more willing to roll the dice on Jadyn's moxie translating to the next level than what Moore showed in-game this year.

Unless JJ lights up in the playoffs, I think he's going to come back. Davis can then step in as a redshirt fr/soph, or we can hit the portal if necessary.

I used to think like this before the portal exploded onto the CFB landscape and now anybody can (and do) go anywhere on the drop of a dime.

The antiquated days of recruiting players for 3-4 year cycles and then earning their stripes is long gone. I no longer really fear losing big time recruits or players because they are now essentially paid employees and are willing to look at the next best offer.

Listen, if Dante wants to come back to Michigan and try his hand at UM for the QB position, cool. But I’m not going stay up late at night worrying about it affecting other recruit’s decisions or not and vice versa.

NSD used to be like Christmas during the OT season and it was fun to watch the highlights and read the bios/stats. Now recruiting classes are essentially a workplace professional development training cohort and most end up dropping the class before the end of the program. C’est la vie.

True. As much as I followed his recruitment, I just remember all of the insurances our staff gave his family. But he could also decide after one year that this program isn’t the right fit and bolt somewhere like what Dante is currently doing, so yeah you’re right.

Dante is also unproven, that was my point. He threw a pick-6 in about 3-4 straight games or something like that. He was not good at all. We have no idea how much “talent” he actually has. If not for his HS ranking, his portal entry wouldn’t even be news. I think I would rather roll the dice with Davis in a hypothetical either/or.

Um, don’t we still have that whole admissions thing where incoming undergrad transfers probably won’t get all of their credits to transfer?

Maybe some of the portal superstars are planning for an NFL exit after their third year, so graduating isn’t a priority, but not sure how advisable it is to get excited at the thought of anyone hitting the portal unless they’re eligible as a grad transfer.

Josiah Stewart was a true sophomore and had no reported issues maintaining his class standing coming in from Coastal Carolina.

I do agree that Michigan's butter zone is much smaller than many other schools. Basically, it's true freshmen, guys transferring after the fall semester of their second year, and grad transfers. Henderson and Hinton were definitely outliers.

"Um, don’t we still have that whole admissions thing where incoming undergrad transfers probably won’t get all of their credits to transfer?"

No, and we never have.

We have that individual colleges thing (admissions has nothing to do with transfer credits) where incoming undergrads with more than 60 credits won’t get all of their credits to transfer.

Basically - if it's a freshman or sophomore (and they didn't take sub 100 level classes), the credits will transfer. It's people past year 2 of credits who tend to lose out when transferring.

If he transfers to FSU, can they put him on the roster immediately, tell the playoff committee that they've got a starting-quality quarterback now, and get their #4 seed back?

If we don't get him I don't want him.

If we get him he is an awesome get and his struggles at UCLA and recruitment drama are all behind him.

I just saw a mock draft (PFF?) and it didn't have JJ in the first round.  Four other QBs were.  If QBs are getting $1-$2 million a year, why not come back and be a first round pick/heisman winner next year?

You'd have to believe that the longer this recruitment plays out, potentially the better it is for Michigan. I doubt Moore comes here if McCarthy comes back and Davis is waiting in the wings to take over in 2025, but if McCarthy leaves, the door is wide open.

I doubt McCarthy makes any kind of decision before the season is over, and understandably so. Only thing he's thinking about for the next 4-5 weeks is a national championship. So if Moore is wanting to make a choice quickly (i.e. sometime this month), I'd guess that means Michigan is out. If he is okay with waiting for a month or so, that probably tells you that there's a good chance he wants to be here, pending McCarthy's decision.

Maybe Moore will be influenced by how much a team throws the ball.

Oregon's QBs attempted 472 passes this season.

FSU attempted 406, Miami 405.

Michigan's QBs have attempted 315.

Only 17 D1 programs have attempted fewer passes than Michigan, and three of those are the service academies.

Interestingly, one of those programs that's attempted fewer passes than Michigan is Alabama, with 302.

Ironically, one other program has also attempted 315 passes: Jacksonville State, coached by RR.

Here's another interesting stat:

Alabama has given up 48 sacks in 302 passing attempts.

Michigan has given up 18 sacks in 315 passing attempts.

Would have been nice if he just committed originally. I was kind of indifferent to him coming because I don't think he would start in 2024 anyways. But if you could get 3 straight QB classes of Moore, Davis, Underwood then Michigan would be set up for success.

Are we even after him? Doesn't seem like he's ready to be the "bridge" guy if JJ leaves and I would hate to lose out on Davis if this would make him decommit...

Oh well... guess I'll just let the coaches do their jobs. They never ask me anyway.

Hard for me to believe Sparty isn’t on his list of teams ..  they can  give him a nice NIL deal . Literally has no QB competition and have an offensive minded coach coming into the program     I’m not saying he is going to MSU , but it has to be on his list …

I doubt he's looking for a bag. Those 4 teams are the teams that recruited him before.

Recruiting is about relationships...I'm sure he has one with each of those teams. Not sure who recruited him for us...S.Moore?

Late 1900's Miami QBs: Bernie Kosar, Vinny Testaverde, Jim Kelly, Ken Dorsey, Gino Toretta

Early 2000's Miami QBs: Brock Berlin, Stephen Morris, N'Kosi Perry and whoever is on their roster now.

I was listening to undisputed (i know i know) but Keyshawn Johnson does know all these guys. They had a segment about all the transfer QBs and Moore came up. First off I should say Keyshawn thinks hes from DC, but i do think he spoke to him or somebody very close to the situation, because, he said Moore isn't looking for a payday but is home sick.
