CJ Stroud Declares for NFL Draft

Of course he was. It was funny seeing a bunch of Buckeye fans get sorta excited, sorta whatever about him coming back. But there was no good reason, and no reasonable NIL deal, that could have kept him out of a draft where he's likely to go in the top half and get a huge signing bonus.
I do think he's going to struggle in the NFL like every other OSU QB but he's certainly the best passer they've had so maybe it'll work.

Seems like a good kid. Best of luck to him in the NFL

I really thought he might want to come back for one last chance to change his legacy.

There was talk on the radio that there had been buzz some last moment package had been brokered to help keep him. I guess it wasn't enough or he wanted to move on.

Not enough NIL, I guess.
Good luck to him, but I hope he goes to a team I don't like.

We like to troll him on here for just being a fair weather 7 vs 7 QB, but my hat is off to him for how he played against Georgia and his willingness to run.
He made himself some money from that game.

This is a beautiful thing.

Fun fact: The last Ohio State quarterback to be drafted in the Top 10 of the first round was Art Schlichter in 1982.
Michigan has only ever had one quarterback drafted in the first round - James Harbaugh in 1987 (No. 26).

Question: who was the OSU quarterback that was most successful in the NFL?
Answer: Tom Tupa. As a punter

Heard he hopes to get drafted by the Colts since he has never played in Indy.😆

No gold pants for you.

Long time since we send off an OSU QB without a W against the good guys
January 16th, 2023 at 2:55 PM ^
I like him and wish him the best. We've got nothing but good memories of him!

NGL, anything that'll make getting to the CFP easier, I'm for. (I know...we own OSU right now).
It's going to be hard to stay focused for 13 games when you know everyone really only cares about games 14 and 15.
OSU saw this year...one bad half and you're at home with lemon booty praying the future Heisman Trophy winner is getting his head smashed in by Utah. Just to get into the damn dance. I don't like those odds.
One bad half is all it takes.
Joke if you want, but Michigan clearly showed that it's not immune to a bad half. Ours just came in Game 14 and not in THE GAME.
This is a CRUEL sport.
I firmly believe a healthy Michigan team wins a national championship next year, if our biggest (regular season) challenges get a little weaker, I'll take it.
We beat Stroud/Day...twice. We've seen that movie. I'll be excited to watch our D take on McCord/Hartline.

NFL quarterbacks don’t have much time to read the defense and make a throw. It’s not like anything stroud is used to
January 16th, 2023 at 3:52 PM ^
Damn, I was looking forward to beating the snot out of a Heisman front runner. I’ll have to settle for next man up I suppose.
January 16th, 2023 at 5:19 PM ^
We should’ve donated more money to his NIL.

Some decisions you can't run from.

Ohio’s program could turn after this. Replace Stroud with an average QB and they lose at least to Penn State last year

Back to second base?
January 16th, 2023 at 5:55 PM ^
He's a very good player, as he proved in the Georgia game. I honestly think OSU's loss to our squad is more on the defense than the offense.

Well, bye!

I actually enjoy watching the young man play. He has an amazing arm and is a formidable competitor. I haven’t always been able to say that through the years but it doesn’t mean I don’t want my team to win with everything within me. I wish him well in the Pros
