I believe this has all been a long con by Brady. First, Brady's wife threatens to leave him if he doesn't retire last year. He secretly wants "out" of the marriage, but he retires under the auspices of keeping her happy. Then he "changes his mind," which was done intentionally to really, REALLY piss her off. She divorces him, giving him the end result he wanted all along but allowing him to maintain his "good guy" image with his kids and the public. Fucking. Brilliant...

Dear Brian and Seth, your beautiful website has been overrun by message board yahoos. The kind of sexist dogs who like to loudly proclaim it. The days of GBCWs are long past us, but as someone who loved this place in its early days--when bums like this would have been run out of here and the discourse was a little less. . . course. . . I just want to say that I assume that you know what you're doing. I assume there are more hits in the current crowd than in the thoughtful one, whether any woman would ever feel comfortable here, and you've weighed the pros and cons. I won't be foolish enough to forswear this place; there's too much of value here. But the days when I passionately proclaimed my love for mgoblog. . . behind me. Cyan-ara.

Would it be weird to unretire twice?  I guess it would, but I agree with you - I think he could've slotted in perfectly with San Fran.

One thing I did notice though this year in contrast to other years (Brady was never a big contact guy anyway...) is that he really, really went out of his way not to get hit.  Hey, I get it - he's old and is trying to preserve his body but you could tell this year he put in the extra effort to avoid contact.  Not sure how long you can continue to do that and have that mentality and be really successful.

He didnt just rewrite records. He didnt just destroy the ceiling on expectations. He didnt just fill UM fans with pride and joy.

He effing flipped the meaning of a WORD. “Goat” used to mean a player who gets the blame for screwing something up to cause a loss. (Think: Bill Buckner, keeping it with a Boston theme).  And now Goat means greatest champion ever. Who has done THAT?

I like the video - the first thing he tells us is that he is retiring and then he goes into the mumbo jumbo.

I think a tour of duty with the 49ers would have done him a disservice.

If you watch his retirement video this time he sounds different

He referenced his prior retirement and said this time it's for good

I know he reneged on his retirement last time but with all the drama he went through plus regression (who knows whether that was Leftwich or what) he wasn't coming back IMO
