Can you really trust *anyone* to get a head coaching hire right? They're pretty much crap shoots, and by all accounts at the time Warde got the past BB hire right in Juwan. There's probably only a couple ADs at a given time with a decade+ of some mix of leadership, respect & success who can be fully trusted.

The only thing that will effect my interest this offseason is if it becomes open portal season & a large bulk of starters transfer. Right now the climate is great for continuing fandom - a national championship defense, continuing offensive coaching philosophy of innovative smashmouth football, and a strong pipeline of players in the program developed under Harbaugh & Herbert. Time will tell if that maintains, but don't let this offseason hearsay dampen things. Tune out for a few months and enjoy the ride later.
As far as I remember that bust looked more on the playside safety, who went into a 1-high look when it should've been 2-high. I thought Mike had the flat / intermediate zone
It's written by an alum and certainly falls as a bit of a puff-piece for her / our university and president, directed moreso at the WSJ-reading types than the sports crowd. I think the most noteworthy comment for the board comes at the end regarding his & Harbaugh's relationship:

I'd bet it's hard to write alongside colorful and skilled writers like Seth and Brian, yet I've felt your columns getting more and more engaging the more you write. Sainristil must be doing some work for his draft grade with all the attention the 2nd half of this season. Idk how far he can climb but I hope his intangibles can push him before day 3.
