Per Balas, Michigan, media gathering evidence on PIs

Submitted by GoBlueDenver on November 3rd, 2023 at 1:12 PM

Article not paywalled

"Several sources at Michigan and in the media tell TheWolverine.com they are gathering evidence on two private investigators they believe are behind the investigation into U-M’s alleged illegal on-site scouting. The same sources also believe the two are responsible for the media leaks that have kept the story in the news for weeks"

Didn't see this on the board. Haven't posted in many years. Please be gentle

We should make a list of every reporter, coach, AD and public figure that shit on Michigan when they were down without any substantiated evidence.  Lawsuits should be sent out and they should be publicly shamed for being hacks.

It's been a bit of rough sledding in the past few weeks because Michigan is always going to play things close to the vest because it's the safest strategy, but by the same token, this feels very much like a first punch back in the court of public opinion.

Maybe it's not accurate, maybe it's wishcasting, but when the general tenor of non-Michigan fans is that Michigan is going to be penalized back into the Stone Age, the reminder that administration does not seem so concerned about this to hold back on the contract extension, I think, is the more important take away.

Isn’t evidence gained from the poisoned tree ineligible in a court of law? If so, tell the NCAA and the Big10 to fuck off with this shit.

(Not a lawyer, obviously, and didn’t stay at a holiday inn last night.)

It’s amazing how OSU fans have been completely fine with all the other reporting, but this is the report that they start calling bullshit.

Also, a lot of people are like “what difference does this make?” Uhh, well if a highly biased sources conducted the investigation and is feeding the info to the media, then there is a potential chance it is incorrect or biased

What does this report tell us more than something we already know, i.e. Sam Webb thinks Day's brother could be behind this and is looking into it?

"Unnamed sources believe X might be true and are  investigating" is just as much of a  clickbait nothing burger as all the other clickbait nonsense we've been subjected to the past two weeks.

Is Michigan "officially" getting this out? If it was, we'd see a press release from the AD. Unidentified "Michigan and media sources" ain't that. To me, that describes Sam, JUB, and maybe a couple other guys/gals. To me, it doesn't describe anybody in the AD or Administration.

Sources: Proctor & Gamble wins naming rights to Ohio Stadium

03 Nov, 2023 — Sources indicate that Ohio State University and Proctor & Gamble will announce the renaming of Ohio Stadium to Charmin Stadium beginning in 2024. An unnamed source indicates that Proctor & Gamble won the naming rights because of its standing as a proud Ohio-based company. An anonymous Proctor & Gamble executive states that the partnership with the Ohio State University football program will help shepherd in a new era for their Charmin brand and the increased softness that Charmin strives to deliver to its customers. There is speculation that Proctor & Gamble will also make a leadership gift of $10 million to the football program. In recognition of this generous gift, the head football coaching position will be formally known as the Soft as Charmin Head Football Coach. It is Proctor & Gamble’s hope that Coach Ryan Day will be an exemplary brand ambassador for Charmin while serving as the Soft as Charmin Head Coach.

Truly wish the athletic department would come out with an official statement . I understand somethings they probably cannot reveal . But with the big ten commish supposedly being on campus today this media crap is only going to get worse.

I used to be fine wiith most OSU fans but right now they can all get fucked. Bunch of cock eyed dirtballs slinging mud from their filthy glass houses.

I can't wait for Harbaugh to kick the shit out of Day's soft ass teams again. Their team is soft, their fanbase is soft, and they are gonna get embarassed by Michigan again. Watching that group cope this hard  is pretty amazing.

Thinking about starting another Balas thread with the same link and a slightly different headline.

Will you guys give me 25% of the attention as the current one?  Not greedy...JUST 25%.

Here's the difference between an asshole OSU coach you can still respect for integrity versus an asshole OSU coach that you can't respect for anything.

After the massive OSU upset be MSU in 1974, MSU got slapped with well deserved recruiting and other violations. Woody proudly bragged that he was the guy who reported them. https://www.nytimes.com/1976/07/31/archives/people-in-sports-woody-hayes-says-he-accused-michigan-state.html
