#4 Illinois at #2 Michigan Game Thread
I know this a bit early, but we have Baylor at West Virginia on right now, Baylor has been leading the whole way but the Mountaineers have clawed their way back to make it competitive so we can discuss that game while we're waiting.
I guess Ayo ain't playing after all.
Other B1G games:
Indiana at MSU on BTN at 8pm ET.
Wisconsin at Purdue on ESPN2 at 9pm ET..
Go Blue, shut Underwood the hell up!
We are in a funk. 12 pts at the 8. Sheesh. Hopefully the shooting picks up soon
I for one put the blame for this shit-storm squarely at the feet of the asshole who created the "this is the best Michigan basketball team ever" thread yesterday.
Not playing well at all, offense just standing around it seems like.
Need Livers and Franz back in the game.
Could not have been a true Michigan fan.
Nerves / eagerness? Illinois D? A rough night shooting?
Alright Juwan, wake these boys up. Gotta focus.
Nobody has shown the ability to take their man off the dribble
Hero ball in full effect since the tip.
It’s not hero ball that’s the problem, it’s that Illinois is playing Dickinson straight up and we don’t have anyone that can just create their own offense off the dribble consistently
Illinois is Juwan Howard's kryptonite. 0-2 last year, looking terrible this year. What exactly is Illinois doing differently that is screwing up our offense???
They’re athletic and long at every position. Their guards dwarf ours.
I am not worried .... but we knew well in advance IL wants this game. Need to amp intensity here. MSU won’t have a problem in 2 days.
Everyone’s just standing around - and of course curbelo cant miss
YIKES this is not looking good..Dickinson missing everything altering his shots
Looking rough right now. Been a while since we’ve seen them this out of sorts.
Well...this is new. They seem to be playing with nerves for the first time all year.
Still early - let’s see how this team responds.
Well, this is pretty darn awful so far on offense.
Is Franz in foul trouble or something? I wouldn’t know tho, thanks to fucking Baylor and WV
I just switched over from ESPN News to ESPN.
THAT should do the trick!
That's what they drew up in the TO?
feels like the Minnesota game all over again.
You cannot shoot like this against a defense like this and expect to win.
It’s not play-calling .... this is all execution right now.
My biggest fear...big guards who are too large for Smith/Brooks and too quick for Wagner/Brown
Dickinson isn't drawing attention because they don't need to double with Cockburn and it's working. If it isn't Dickinson getting points, it needs to be someone else. Same logic for Illinois, except they have 11 from Curbelo.
Curbelo has been carrying Illinois w Ayo out
Early this looks like what Minnesota did to us at their place. Playing aggressive on offense and defense against us. We can’t make a shot and aren’t matching their intensity
Holy shit, if it’s not a wide open layup we’re not making it.
Timid team right now.
We look tentative shooting. Just let it rip.
Ann Arbor Brick Factory tonight. Lets go boys
Lmao so many missed bunnies.
One word. Tight.
Dumb fucking play Brooks
This is like a slow drip .... and in a bad direction.
M can't get a single bounce. On the floor or on the rim.
When's the last time Michigan had an open jumper? Brown's air ball?
Illinois coughing up the ball over and over. Not doing shit.
How do you miss that goaltend?
Well, ball don’t lie.
This game is very ugly, but I am still very confident of a beautiful outcome
Use every foul Austin. Put Kofi on the line.
How is that not a goaltend? I mean we got the bucket but...
MSU is gonna make IL look like babies with aggressiveness. Need to step up M.
S/b goaltending. Glad Chaundee got the bucket.
Davis is as tough as a 2 dollar steak
Lol with that foul. Hope that guy didnt give himself whiplash selling that one
This game is really physical and handsy.
