Who has better winS than Iowa State!? They should be a top-10 team if the committee is so gung-ho on wins versus losses. Man if not for that stupid loss to Iowa they should've won, they're looking down the barrel at a top 5. Crazy.

That's true, but looking at their seasons since that game, I think OSU has played far more consistently and, frankly, better. If both teams win out I think they should get in over the loser of the SEC title game (assuming that's between two undefeated clubs), but OU feels like they peaked in that game and OSU has simply looked more the part of a playoff team since.

Wow, look at Zona and the fightin' Rich Rods at #22! I will be more impressed if they beat USC in LA on Saturday. It's not a likely victory for the Wildcats but that will be a fun game to watch. ESPN at 10:45pm eastern.

Dang I guessed a near perfect top ten except I misplaced TCU. Oh well.
Definitely no respect yet for Wisconsin or Miami. But I think that's warranted and both teams have a good chance of losing one or more games down the stretch. Neither has been impressive.

You did nearly nail the top 10! Great job.
Neither Wisconsin nor Miami (YTM) deserve enough respect to be top 5, but rightly given enough respect to be top 10. If either team fininshes undefeated, they will surely finish in the top 4.

TCU, UCF, Memphis, Zona, NC State, ISU. Sure isn't like the olden days.

Don't knock Arizona. They have a great head coach!

should move into the top 25 after Saturday's win and a couple of those teams will fall out after losses on Saturday.

At the end of the day, who really cares if Michigan is unranked and LSU is ranked. Is 19 really going to get that much better of a bowl or that many more recruits for a major program like Michigan? Can anyone remember who was ranked 19 last week let alone last year? Anything outside of the top 10 is irrelevant, so let's quit complaining and instead hope our team progresses and makes it to where we're actually complaining that they should be in the playoff or not.

If Georgia and Alabama play in sec title game, both undefeated, don't be surprised if they both end up in the playoff.
November 1st, 2017 at 1:03 AM ^
But your point is well-taken. I didn't remember who was ranked #19 last year. I had to look it up to learn that it was Virginia Tech. I also didn't remember who was ranked #4 last year.

Well, it wasn't really about the teams ranked ahead of us, but rather how far we've fallen.

And that will be perceived as such a good loss they'll be moved into the top 10.

Clemson should be #6, not #4.
Oklahoma should be at 4, OSU at 5.

Here are some other items of note.
Florida State and Utah are absent from the CFP poll for the first time. Only three teams have been ranked in every CFP poll -- Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State.
Miami (YTM), Iowa State, Central Florida, NC State and Arizona are in the CFP Poll for the first time.
