I'm not saying that he hasn't helped, but everyone on their OL save for their RT is a senior, their RB is a junior, their best receiver is a junior, their TE is a senior and they got more mobile at the QB position. I think that they were so unlucky last year that it's hard to say whether the improved offense isn't just the fact that everyone got older and they returned an entire really good OL. They don't throw the ball much. Their runs are pretty simple. They just have a dominant OL and RB. That can do a ton for your team.

Attended both UM and ND....supposedly Kelly made it a huge effort to get away from kind of ministerial things (interacting with admin, the u, donors) to get back to coaching and really knowing the players. I think he has some sort of leadership group he regularly meets with, which I think is some key to the success they are having. Kelly and his players are totally on the same page.

Acts like they dont look at matchups and potential outcomes but i call BS. Already setting it up to get both sec teams in if they want. Also side note if osu wins out they would b in for sure but.... we gonna beat em so f it

Their D is ferocious (led by major UM target Roquan Smith) and their 4th string running back would start on most teams. They're a middle-class man's Alabama. I don't think they can beat Bama outside of Athens, but they beat Notre Dame in their freshman QB's first ever game in South Bend, so I think they deserve to be ranked above Bama for now.

They beat the shit out of Florida without even trying. Passed the ball 7 times to Florida’s 25 and still out passed them. And then they rushed for almost 400 yards. Was like the scene in the Matrix where Neo is ninja fighting his ass off and Morpheus is just like nah, bro. They are very good.

Ok, so LSU loses by THIRTY to Mississippi State, beats dumpster fire Florida by 1, loses to TROY at HOME, and they are at 19???? I would be embarrassed to be on this committee...

Meh....down at that level it’s more about quality wins than anything because everyone has dumb or bad losses. LSU does have some wins over decent teams — a by decent I mean Power 5 with winning records. Others in the 20 or lower range (like Michigan for instance) generally do not.

The only saving grace is the morons on this years Committee will only have one or two big decisions to make.

Two ACC teams in the Top 4 is a joke

Even though Michigan isn’t ranked, it’s good to have some perspective. Take USC (2016) for example: they had 3 losses at this point in the year and missed out on the first rankings. They made a QB change after their losses, got hot, and eventually made it to #9 post-championship week, and they didn’t even play in their conference championship game.

WHAT IF (and that’s a big “if”) something similar happens to Michigan? Where this switch to Peters sparks the offense and we take sizable victories over Minnesota and Maryland, eventually taking down Wiscy and OSU, our resume would have one less loss than USC and our victories would be of similar quality (Wisconsin & OSU vs. Colorado & Washington).

Who knows what can happen. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

FWIW,

Out of every Power 5 conference team that has 2 or fewer losses, only three are unranked in the initial CFP poll.

- Kentucky

- South Carolina

You can probably guess the third.

Regardless of what happens, I'm going to enjoy the rest of Michigan's season. Too few games left before we go into another long offseason.

On an unrelated note, I really really miss making 3-9 and 4-8 jokes.

I'd be seriously pissed if I were Iowa State. Auburn has ZERO impressive wins but somehow above ISU? And VT who you guessed it have 0 quality wins. Also the love for the PAC 12 is stupid
