I'm not saying I would be disappointed with Moore, but he was only head coach during a few game days. I'd at least like Michigan to consider hiring a coach with more experience.

Moore as the Head Coach with external candidates  considered for DC (assuming Minter is gone) and particularly OC. I'm  all for continuity and culture,  but some fresh ideas on offense from an elite OC could be helpful. The schedule year in and year out is going to be grueling and not ideal for a  first time HC and a  first time OC.

1. Sherrone Moore or Mike Minter or Michael “Weeze in the ass-kicking business and business is booming” Barrett

2. Mike Hart

3. Chris Klieman (4 FCS national championships at NDSU)

Maybe the better question is: who out there would you take if you could have any name on an under three day turnaround like 'Bama did? And we are talking someone you believe is such a long term hit, that it is worth the short term roster decimation.  I can't think of any that aren't pretty much entrenched where they are.

I would've preferred Kiffin and his prolific offensive mind and also his pettiness. Or Brian Kelly. But if Jim says Moore can handle being the full time captain of this ship, I'll give him the benefit.

Better question is who is

1) OC

2) DC

3) ST coach

4) S&C coach, assuming Herbert leaves, which he’ll at least get an offer from Harbaugh.

We know who Coach is.  We already had the working interviews.  Just wait for the announcement.

Never mind, you want to play rainbows and fairies…

(1) Bill Belichik

(2) Pete Carroll

(3) Nick Saban

I'm going to go way outside of the box here.

1 - Kelly- LSU

He can recruit.  He can coach.  Has (state of) Michigan ties. Has a long list of staff members that he can bring in if there is a mass exodus of coaches.

2 - Drinkwitz - Missouri

He's young. He can develop. He can recruit in the south. He can beat osu.

3 - Fleck - Minnesota

He's young.  He's a player's coach.  I think he would be able to recruit fairly well with the resources at Michigan. He had a lot of success at WMU. He's had some issues at Minnesota, It would be a gamble, but no more of a gamble than Moore.

I do wish Coach Moore ALL of the success when he becomes Michigan head coach.  I certainly do like him and I don't want this post to sound negative.

1). Lance Leipold.  Sure thing in regards to winning. Dude has won absolutely everywhere he’s coached, including the burning couch program that Kansas was.

2). Sherrone Moore. Obvious. Love the guy, but the coordinator to head coach transition is not always a sure thing.

3). I got nothing realistic.  DeBoer and Jed would have made this list, but….

Have to hire Moore at this stage. The coaching carousel outside of us is over and the entire roster would leave with him. But by next offseason most contributing pieces will be gone anyway and I think kicking the tires on a real coaching search then might not be a bad idea.

Moore, Moore and Moore. We’re 40-3 in the past 3 years. Any Administrator worth their salt promotes from within and hopes the train keeps rolling. Choo-choo motherfuckers. (Can we still say that, or is it strictly a Harbaugh thing?)

Hopefully Jim doesn’t raid this staff. You know Grant, Graham, and Will Johnson will be getting major $$$ thrown at them to transfer. We can’t afford to lose any of them if we hope to compete for a championship next year.

Are you really excited about the program if Moore is picked?  If he was such a hot commodity…why has NOBODY come after him?

Pretty meh pick if you ask me.

An actual answer:

1. Deion

2. Belicik

3A. Urban

3B. PJ Fleck

Yes, 3/4 of those hires are highly unlikely, but Moore would be a Carr hire at best and a Ron English hire at worst. Maybe the players stick around and he goes 10-2 and gets bounced in the first round of the playoffs next year, but the wheels will come off sooner or later.

Saying that he "deserves" to take over a program that was 100% Harbaugh's for close to a decade because Moore "coached" 3 games that Harbaugh prepped, schemed, and gameplanned for every single minute of the day other than 60 minutes on GameDay, and where our defense performed better than our offense, is selling a National Championship winning program that has the purse to make any coach the highest paid coach in all of football woefully short of its potential.

We need someone to drive the car, not valet it.

No, it's because he's been here for 6 years and was an instrumental piece of building the team and culture we have now. He was an outstanding OL coach and OC. It helps that he has some in-game coaching experience for sure, but it is not because of it.

There might be a procedure search but Moore probably has the job. I knew JH was leaving when JJ skipped his final season. I hope Moore can become a successful coach here. I wonder if he promotes Hart to OC or goes find a new one? I would hire the either the Raven's DB or LB coach. I think John will agree, since the Michigan experience makes their coaches much better after their stint with Michigan. We need to keep the Raven's defense going here.
