I mean is this even an update?  I assume that all interviews must end once they have started.  But sure, I guess it’s always good to know.  Anyone know if he took a pre-interview dump?  If not, there’s no way the interview went well.

The idea that people are sure this is going one way or the other after what's happened the last two years is very funny to me. I hope he stays, but I also still don't have any idea which way this will go. And neither do you.

AFC is strong.  Hard for me to imagine Chargers winning a Super Bowl in the next years.  If offered, I would take the Cowboys job.  That is me . Not Coach Harbaugh.  I am going to put on my lucky outfit which is 28-0 since I have been wearing it.  I hope a decision comes soon, or I will look ridiculous at work for the next days.  Go Blue.

We all love Jimmy and what he accomplished for the University. From what I read - the players love him. Seems like a great guy. But this game of interviewing with the NFL every year has gown old. It has to impact how recruits (including portal players) look at this program. I think it is time for UM to move on. We should have a coach that "cherishes" being UM's HC and views it as their dream job. Time to let Jimmy go......

This is patently ridiculous.  If we win and retain great players, etc, Harbaugh being himself is A OK.  If we can't get kids to come here and stay here, and the team starts to suck, then yeah complain away.  But note that this has already actually happened and the outcome was a dominant team and a national championship.

Just let Harbaugh be what he is and love him for it.

Time to let Jimmy go

Letting the coach go,  who just had the best three year stretch in school history,  is a very rational response. Maybe you should be AD. I look forward to more of your galaxy brain management decisions.  The main criteria should obviously be someone who cherishes being at Michigan. Brady Hoke is back on the market. What do you think AD?

I was actually surprised at how balanced the comments were. A plurality were not completely ridiculous.  But of course there were plenty of the same comments you STILL here now.

Call me old fashioned, but I like my HC to not be interviewing on National Signing Day. Let’s get him out of here. Thanks for this last year, enjoy Kirk Cousins.

The second he lands in Minnesota Warde needs to inform him the University is moving on from him and pay him his low buyout. Announce Harbaugh is persuing NFL opportunities and Michigan will be looking for a new HC.

Here is a big brain energy from salvadorquattro

1-5, 3-4, and 1-5. He hasn’t been the coach we thought we were getting. He has been good, but not great.

Let’s stop pretending he has been a huge success here because he hasn’t. If he leaves he is leaving behind h program stronger than he found it. That is true. But he also leaves a legacy of spotty performances. Can UM do worse? Sure. But they can also do better.

Sorry but Jim has brought this on himself with all his nonsense about how he would do this job for free, and NO-body has it better than us, etc etc.   A huge part of his appeal to the fanbase was his passion for Michigan and all of his ties to the area.   If its just another job to him then he is just another coach who can be easily replaced. It won’t be too difficult to find someone else who can beat OSU once in 7 years and lose almost every other big game we play.

They’d be dumb not to want him, so it should really come down to Jim and whether he wants to:

1. Try to win a Super Bowl

2. Try to win us another Natty

Like a lot of people, I think he’s going back to the NFl. He played in the league for ages and, being the competitor he is, probably wants to see if he can be the 3rd coach (that I’m aware of) to win it all at both the college and pro levels.

That said, the thing about Harbaugh is that he follows his heart. If he’s decided to stay in Ann Arbor, no offer or argument will sway him.

I do feel confident that Moore would be an excellent replacement - and he might even be able to keep most of the staff together. We joke about Ryan Day leading the 3rd base index but ideally you do want the internal promotion to start with as big an advantage as possible.

This guy was wearing three hats simultaneously and his unit is BY FAR the most successful over the last three years. What more do you want Sherrone to do?

The players love him and he provides continuity.

Fisch and DeBoer are off the market now. Moore is the optimal choice. Minter isn’t staying in college if Jim leaves.

The longer this drags out, the more clear it is what's going on.  The NFL is driving this timeline.  Not the Michigan contract process.

At the end of the day, this will be the NFL's decision.

Not Harbaugh's.

Not Warde's.

If an NFL team wants him badly enough, he is gone.  He wants to chase his Super Bowl dream, and Warde realistically cannot guarantee him protection from a vindictive NCAA.  Those two things add up to him leaving if the NFL legitimately wants him.

That is why nothing has been decided yet.  Because the NFL has not decided yet.
