Very telling that they left Bama at 8 behind the nuts …
November 28th, 2023 at 7:18 PM ^
Same as putting Michigan behind OSU the last month: all for show. Bama definitely jumping OSU if they beat UGA and who cares where they're ranked if they lose.
November 28th, 2023 at 7:24 PM ^
Rare that the committee has not sucked up to an SEC team like so many times before
November 28th, 2023 at 7:27 PM ^
You kidding? MO and TN overrated all year to puff up GA, who have no business at #1 after struggling with GaTech.
November 28th, 2023 at 7:34 PM ^
I view that GaTech game the same as Michigan's Maryland game: Georgia was playing 'Bama and Georgia Tech was playing Georgia.
November 28th, 2023 at 7:51 PM ^
Not disagreeing - Georgia is a good team. Boston College defeated Georgia Tech by a larger margin than Georgia did.
November 28th, 2023 at 8:05 PM ^
Georgia sat some starters just saying, just win baby! Go Blue!
November 28th, 2023 at 7:59 PM ^
Agree. Georgia has shown it can turn it up when it needs to.
But Michigan has shown this and has two wins that are better than any of Georgia’s.
November 28th, 2023 at 9:42 PM ^
If all the favorites win this weekend, Georgia can have #1 and deal with Oregon. We'll stay #2, go to the Rose Bowl and play FSU, thank you
November 28th, 2023 at 8:06 PM ^
They sat a good amount of guys for that game FYI. I unfortunately have to watch every game of thiers that doesn't coincide with a UM game as living in Georgia wife is a fan.
November 28th, 2023 at 9:01 PM ^
Which team would you least like to play? The answer is Georgia. They’re #1.
November 28th, 2023 at 8:03 PM ^
I litterally don't understand why they publish these. Each week, it's clearly just a ranking of "if we ended today, here's our ranking."
But who the fuck cares if your aunt had balls? Bama plays UGa and UO plays UW next week.
November 28th, 2023 at 8:44 PM ^
This is telling you that if Oregon wins and FSU loses, they would put osu in ahead of Texas. That’s why.
and that is complete and utter horseshit
November 28th, 2023 at 9:05 PM ^
No. It doesn't. It is telling you that they value OSU's wins against ND and PSU more than TX win against AL. TX has to do more and they have that chance and OSU does not.
November 28th, 2023 at 9:06 PM ^
That’s not what it says at all. It’s theater for the final selection show. If Texas was ahead of OSU now then it would be a given they’d remain ahead of them on the final episode. Texas as of now is not a conference champion and has won 11 games. Assuming they win they would the have added a 12th victory to there resume , another victory over a ranked opponent and of course be a conference champion. They would then jump OSU.
November 28th, 2023 at 9:15 PM ^
No it isn't really, because Texas plays this week and OSU doesn't
November 28th, 2023 at 7:16 PM ^
Go Oregon and FSU. If both win, would like to see FSU move up to 3 and Oregon land at 4.
November 28th, 2023 at 7:19 PM ^
FSU is not going to win.
What scares me is Texas.
Assuming Texas wins the big 12, are they seriously gonna take an 11-1 over osu ahead of a 12-1 conference champion Texas?!
November 28th, 2023 at 7:27 PM ^
No, that TX win probably advances them.
November 28th, 2023 at 7:33 PM ^
No, they won't.
The only way OSU has a chance of getting in is if Texas and FSU lose, and even then it's not guaranteed. These are not good rankings for OSU. The committee could have kept FSU out of the top 4 and basically state that they aren't going to consider FSU a top 4 team without their starting QB (they do this all the time with non-power-5 teams) but instead they're communicating that FSU is in if they win.
And everyone assuming FSU will lose to Louisville should go look at Louisville's losses.
November 28th, 2023 at 7:56 PM ^
Only way OSU can get into the CFP is if FSU and Texas lose.
Bama defeating GA would also help to keep OSU out. The CFP may take two 12-1 SEC teams over 11-1 OSU.
If FSU loses, Texas loses and GA wins, OSU is likely in the CFP again. That's gonna suck giant, stanky butt.

November 28th, 2023 at 9:46 PM ^
I think OSU can only get in if:
bama, Texas, FSU and maybe even Oregon all lose (I think wash could still get. In if they lost a close game while OSU stayed at home)
November 29th, 2023 at 9:33 AM ^
Hell, UVA was not far off of beating Louisville.
November 28th, 2023 at 7:43 PM ^
Louisville is more than mediocre enough to lose to FSU without Travis.
November 28th, 2023 at 7:43 PM ^
FSU will win.
November 28th, 2023 at 7:50 PM ^
FSU I have the least amount of faith in winning. I watched them against a bad Florida team and they did not look great. Louisville is inconsistent but sometimes decent. I honestly think that game is a tossup.
November 28th, 2023 at 8:10 PM ^
Rivalry game in your rival's stadium versus neutral site game that will be 65/35 FSU fans.
November 28th, 2023 at 8:12 PM ^
Not me. A "bad" Florida team with the athletes they have, on a rivalry week, is still a good test. FSU is demonstrably better than Louisville for people that have watched both teams this year. I wouldn't be shocked if Louisville won, but FSU is the favorite in that game for a reason.
November 28th, 2023 at 8:59 PM ^
Yeah, this is the correct take. FSU is my second time (my wife is an alum) and I’ve watched every game. They are plenty good enough BUT have that tendency that good but not truly great teams have of playing down to their competition.
November 28th, 2023 at 8:56 PM ^
FSU is not going to win.
LOL, what?
November 28th, 2023 at 7:22 PM ^
Only way that happens is if Oregon wins in a fluky way, and FSU roll Louisville... even then, beating Washington is huge for Oregon and they'd likely still jump to 3rd. I don't really see a path to Michigan playing FSU.
November 28th, 2023 at 7:27 PM ^
If there's a path, it probably involves Georgia losing to Bama
November 28th, 2023 at 7:30 PM ^
I don’t think so. Is a Texas win over Ok St going to move the needle? Georgia wins and FSU loses and OSU is in the playoff. The loser of Wash/Oregon falls out. I would be super pissed if I was Texas.
At the same time, now I want that to happen so we can beat OSU for the national title.
November 28th, 2023 at 7:34 PM ^
You can't leave an undefeated FSU out, but you can certainly seed them #4 if you think they are the worst team. If Georgia loses and FSU wins, Michigan is #1 and I think there's a strong argument they deserve FSU as their semi-final opponent.
Don't really see how Texas, OSU, and Oregon/Washington affect that.
November 28th, 2023 at 7:35 PM ^
Texas jumps Buckeyes with a win, don't worry. I promise you.
November 28th, 2023 at 7:38 PM ^
I really don’t care. They would both be dead teams walking. Georgia is the only team in the country that worries me.
November 28th, 2023 at 7:46 PM ^
Honestly, Oregon gives me the most pause right now. They are absolutely locked in.
November 28th, 2023 at 7:47 PM ^
Georgia is meh. They aren't the same team from the last few years. They will be lucky to get by Bama, IF they do. There is a pack of good teams and NO absolutely dominant ones. And no, they aren't taking OSU over Texas if Texas wins. This is pretty obvious.
November 28th, 2023 at 7:55 PM ^
Is a Texas win over Ok St going to move the needle?
Yes, it is. A 12-1 B12 champion Texas with 4 top-25 wins (including at Alabama) is not getting left out of the CFP for an 11-1 non-champion with 2 top-25 wins.
The committee still likes OSU over Texas as of this moment because they have identical 11-1 records (and similar top wins). With a win on Saturday, Texas will be a conference champion with 12 wins. That makes them superior to OSU.
November 28th, 2023 at 8:27 PM ^
If Bama beats Georgia and Texas wins then Texas for sure jumps Ohio state considering they beat Bama on the road convincingly.
November 28th, 2023 at 7:59 PM ^
If FSU has a good game vs UL and OR wins a tight game vs UW, then FSU could get that #3 spot. FSU would be 13-0, Oregon would be 12-1. Would be razor tight.
I think that's the biggest question out of all the questions I have for this weekend: what happens if FSU and OR win? Who gets that #3? Oregon may pass the eye test, but FSU went undefeated.

November 28th, 2023 at 7:16 PM ^
About what we expected right? Ohio State needs Texas, FSU and Bama to lose?
November 28th, 2023 at 7:20 PM ^
Not based on these rankings!
November 28th, 2023 at 8:10 PM ^
Yes they do. OSU will not get in if Texas and FSU win.
November 28th, 2023 at 7:28 PM ^
They might also need Oregon to either lose or beat Washington decisively. I think it would be pretty tough to take OSU over a 12-1 Washington team that narrowly lost to Oregon.
November 28th, 2023 at 7:33 PM ^
But they have OSU ranked ahead of Texas who only lost to OU?
No, all OSU needs is FSU to lose.
November 28th, 2023 at 7:36 PM ^
Uh, no. If Bama wins, they jump OSU. If Texas wins and the 4 seed is still up for grabs, they also jump OSU.
November 28th, 2023 at 7:38 PM ^
There is no way a 12-1 Big12 champ in Texas is passed by OSU.
November 28th, 2023 at 7:43 PM ^
I just looked at Ok State’s schedule and win/loss and scores. I honestly don’t see why a Texas win over them is going to make a difference.
November 28th, 2023 at 7:50 PM ^
It doesn't matter who it is. It makes a difference because it's a 12th win and a conference title. They have repeatedly said that they value wins over losses.
