What's Your CFP Ranking In This Scenario?
1. Georgia wins out.
2. OSU watches TV.
3. Michigan beats Iowa.

5. Florida St. loses to Florida, beats Louisville by 3.
6. Oregon beats Washington by 10.
7. Texas beats Oklahoma St. to win the Big XII Championship.
8. Bama loses to UGA.

10. Louisville lost to Kentucky, loses to FSU by 3.
...what's your new top 10?
November 25th, 2023 at 8:25 PM ^
Michigan and Georgia will be in it, it's just a matter of who gets in between Washington, Oregon, Texas and Alabama...ohio can go fuck itself and take cryin' and geno with them.
Still too early tonight to know the top ten but if FSU loses.
Georgia , Michigan, Washington, Oregon, Texas, ohio,Alabama, Missouri, Penn st.,FSU.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:35 PM ^
Bama ain’t getting in with two losses
November 25th, 2023 at 9:56 PM ^
Personally, since we aren’t passing UGA, I’d rather see FSU win out and get the 3 seed and Oregon at 11-1 get the 4 seed (I don’t see UW beating them again) I’d rather play FSU than UGA or Oregon in the first round.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:26 PM ^
1. UGA
2. UM
3. OREGON
4. TEXAS
November 25th, 2023 at 8:32 PM ^
This seems the likely outcome. To put us in the rose bowl against a West Coast team. Because of course
November 25th, 2023 at 8:35 PM ^
Michigan v Oregon would be a war. Bo Nix aint that guy that transferred from Auburn anymore, hes a flamethrower
November 25th, 2023 at 8:35 PM ^
Yup. UW seems to be fading while Oregon is getting stronger
November 25th, 2023 at 8:52 PM ^
This is the easiest and right answer.
November 25th, 2023 at 9:55 PM ^
Would love for FSU to win out so we play them in the semi.
Oregon's a monster.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:27 PM ^
I've got...
- Georgia
- Michigan
- Oregon
- Texas
- Washington
- Ohio St.
- Missouri
- Florida St.
Bama is out of the top 10 after their loss to UGA. Louisville will be out of the top 10 next week.
For all the worrying about OSU. They have no shot unless Texas loses and Washington beats Oregon again.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:29 PM ^
Bama beating Georgia isn't out of the question.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:32 PM ^
Alabama winning just punches their ticket and probably Texas too.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:32 PM ^
I don't think Bama comes within 14 points of Georgia.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:33 PM ^
And if they do, some on the playoff committee will want both UGA and Bama in and regardless both would be above OSU.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:37 PM ^
November 25th, 2023 at 8:42 PM ^
OSU needs Georgia to win and FSU not to be undefeated. Probably want Texas to lose too. And, horror or horrors, it is better for OSU if Michigan wins.
November 25th, 2023 at 9:12 PM ^
OSU is guaranteed to be behind
- Michigan
- SEC Champ (one loss max)
- Pac 12 Champ (one loss max)
To take the 4th spot, they need
- Texas to lose (~14 pt favorite vs OklaSt)
- Bama to lose SEC Champ game OR Georgia to lose to GaTech (2 loss GA)
- Fla St to lose (down 12-7 to Fla at half and favored by 5.5 vs Louisville)
- Perhaps Washington to be the Pac12 Winner
- Would the committee punish a one-loss Wash for playing in the Pac12 champ game while OSU sits at home?
It's possible but very unlikely
November 25th, 2023 at 10:25 PM ^
Do NOT want osu backing into it again. Enough of that.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:27 PM ^
In your scenario
1. Georgia, 2. Michigan, 3. Oregon, 4. Texas seems like it would be obvious choices.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:28 PM ^
Would anyone be surprised if Cryin Day pulls a Saban a la last year in this scenario and pleads his case as to why anOSU belongs in the playoff?
November 25th, 2023 at 8:31 PM ^
Every coach of a one-loss team is going to do that, except Oregon if they win out because there won't be any question there.
It'll be nice to be able to tune that stuff out.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:28 PM ^
I'm starting to think we will be ranked #1.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:29 PM ^
Exactly!
November 25th, 2023 at 8:39 PM ^
Georgia only up 4 on GTech at the moment
November 25th, 2023 at 8:44 PM ^
14-13 now
November 25th, 2023 at 8:40 PM ^
I think we’ll be ranked #1 this week, but then Georgia for the playoffs with the win over Alabama.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:29 PM ^
In that scenario:
1. Georgia
2. Michigan
3. Oregon
4. Texas
Let's see where OSU falls to on Tuesday. If the committee keeps them above Texas, oh boy....
November 25th, 2023 at 8:31 PM ^
It won't matter if they keep them ahead of them. Texas gets another game and will jump OSU with a win.
I wouldn't be against OSU above Texas next Tuesday. In fact, they probably deserve to be.
However, once Texas has the additional win and the Big XII Championship, they jump the Buckeyes without question.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:31 PM ^
Even if they do, Texas could leapfrog OSU if they win their CCG while OSU is home washing Day's skid marked undies.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:29 PM ^
Ohio State is in a pretty bad spot regardless of what happens. The teams that I'd like to play the most in the semis are Washington or Texas.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:33 PM ^
I would not be afraid of Washington at all
Of course, I said that about TCU last year, too
November 25th, 2023 at 9:18 PM ^
I’d rather play them than Oregon. They have good receivers but we just played and beat a team with really good receivers. Bo Nix is mobile and extends plays and Oregon has an actual defense unlike Washington.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:29 PM ^
1. Georgia
2. Michigan
3. Oregon
4. Texas
November 25th, 2023 at 8:30 PM ^
Georgia Michigan Oregon Texas. Florida State looks awful, and Texas has that win over Alabama
November 25th, 2023 at 8:31 PM ^
For OSU to NOT back into it. Don't care about anything else.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:31 PM ^
Georgia
Michigan
Oregon
Texas
November 25th, 2023 at 8:32 PM ^
Let me drink about it.
November 25th, 2023 at 9:54 PM ^
Plus 1 to you sir!
November 25th, 2023 at 8:33 PM ^
I was told there would be no math.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:34 PM ^
I am rooting for FSU to win out. If Oregon wins i think it will be the following below. I like an FSU match up the best. I dont see us jumping Georgia, especially of they beat Bama
1. Georgia
2. Michigan
3. FSU
4. Oregon
November 25th, 2023 at 8:36 PM ^
- Michigan
- Georgia
- Oregon
- Texas
Obviously the computers already love Michigan, but now it has the best win of the season, and its second-best win is at least as good as Georgia's first. Oregon passes the computer test and will have the second-best win of the season. Texas trails FSU to the computers, but its star QB is intact.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:36 PM ^
Why do we want FSU to lose?
November 25th, 2023 at 8:44 PM ^
we don't
November 25th, 2023 at 8:37 PM ^
OSU sneaking in last year after getting waxed at home and then having a bye week as UM played Purdue was already a joke. Especially when UM would not have been given that same benefit of the doubt had they lost in Columbus. No chance. They'd have put a 2-loss Bama ahead of Michigan and OSU gets their ass beat, sits at home and backs in.
There are three teams that may have 2-losses after next Saturday that get in over OSU if I have a vote. Just for principle, no homer. They will have played in their CCG after going in with the same record as a team sitting at home.
So while I won't answer the specific scenario asked, I'll only say that OSU sneaking in once again after losing and sitting at home while everyone else plays would be a travesty. I'd take a 2-loss Oregon Texas and Bama above them.
I do not reward a team for sitting at home.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:38 PM ^
10 games means we could have 1023 more threads like this
November 25th, 2023 at 8:39 PM ^
Georgia, Michigan, Oregon, Texas
November 25th, 2023 at 8:41 PM ^
That's all too specific, my friend.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:42 PM ^
I’ll just wait for the games to be played if you don’t mind. And as long as the Bucknuts don’t get in and we do, I’ll be very very happy.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:43 PM ^
more interesting scenario is with a texas loss. ohio state is not in a good place, but they’re going to have an argument if it comes down to them v a 1 loss washington or them v a 1 loss acc champ fsu. i actually think they would almost certainly be 4 if michigan uga UW win, fsu loses out, and texas loses to ok st. a texas win next week and osu is dead. but a loss and they’ve got hope like it or not.
November 25th, 2023 at 8:49 PM ^
- Georgia
- Michigan
- Oregon
- Texas
- Ohio St
- who cares?
