Kinda surprised this video from Will Johnson's IG wasn't posted anywhere. Sticking it up here for those of us who like the moving pictures!
February 7th, 2023 at 9:08 PM ^
Prepare his spot on Feldman’s Freaks list.
February 7th, 2023 at 9:14 PM ^
Harbaugh is sending that video straight to Bruce. Another FeldMan wolverfreak

Caris Levert...football version. I keep saying it.
A baby deer as a freshman, can barely walk and chew gum at the same time. I still love watching Caris as a freshman, poor kid. He just couldn't slow down, he'd get a steal and brick the layup off the backboard all the way to the free throw line. Walker was the same way...he was all over the place.
Shows flashes as a sophomore.
Fills out the frame and moves into a leading role some time as a junior
By his senior year, he's a first round draft pick and he looks unstoppable. And JACKED.
February 7th, 2023 at 9:42 PM ^
Except for the part about LeVert suffering season-ending injuries in both his junior and senior years, hopefully.
February 7th, 2023 at 9:43 PM ^
LeVert was a bit ahead of the curve you recall, but the worst part was we were deprived of most of that super saiyan year because of injury
February 7th, 2023 at 9:48 PM ^
LeVert showed more than flashes as sophomore: he started every game, averaging 34 minutes, 13 ppg and shot over 40% from downtown on a Big Ten champion. Unfortunately, that was his last fully healthy season.
February 7th, 2023 at 9:16 PM ^
Where do we think he plays? Offense or defense ?
February 7th, 2023 at 9:44 PM ^
He probably would get more playing time on D.
February 7th, 2023 at 9:53 PM ^
I want to see him on offense--fade routes in the end zone.
February 7th, 2023 at 10:57 PM ^
Don't be silly, we all know McCarthy can't throw the deep ball!
February 7th, 2023 at 10:08 PM ^
Isn’t it obvious he’s going to run the 3-cone route from the slot?
February 8th, 2023 at 6:39 AM ^
Both, I say. Catching jump balls in the end zone and breaking up long passes to Marvin Harrison Jr.
February 7th, 2023 at 9:38 PM ^
That is one drill that I have zero frame of reference on. But your second sentence helps me out a ton.
February 7th, 2023 at 9:54 PM ^
Five fakes
February 7th, 2023 at 10:37 PM ^
My first thought as well!
February 8th, 2023 at 8:38 AM ^
"Hand timed" is all you need to know. I am sure he is extremely agile but there is probably a big difference between 6.10 and 6.25 in terms of where he would fall on the NFL combine history books
February 8th, 2023 at 9:18 AM ^
6.25 would still be top 5 from what I saw
February 8th, 2023 at 12:57 PM ^
Back in my day we had a few guys with unbelievable times in drills. All hand timed. None were even close to replicated in any non-practice environment.
I remember one 60 yard dash where the guy on the left won but the guy on the right had the faster time. Our coaches were doing all manner of mental gymnastics to justify it.
Im excited about Walker and I hope he’s a superstar but this drill means nothing.
February 9th, 2023 at 10:43 AM ^
In track for hand timed races under 300M:
1) Round up to the nearest tenth (always up)
2) Add 0.24 seconds
So a 6.10 hand timed would be a 6.34
February 7th, 2023 at 10:03 PM ^
That could certainly help with our goal line offense!
February 7th, 2023 at 10:38 PM ^
FREDDY CANTEEEEEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
February 7th, 2023 at 10:39 PM ^
About to show up on Bruce Feldman's Freaks List
I usually take these hand timed numbers with a grain of salt, but historically they've held up pretty well once the combine comes around
February 8th, 2023 at 12:02 AM ^
Maybe we should throw him the ball on occasion.
February 8th, 2023 at 12:19 AM ^
Harbaugh is very excited because that kind of speed will help him get to his blocks quicker.
February 8th, 2023 at 1:24 AM ^
Too real.
February 8th, 2023 at 9:27 AM ^
Why does this post hurt so much?
February 8th, 2023 at 3:09 PM ^
Ya it sucks having the best run game in the country doesn't it
February 8th, 2023 at 9:29 PM ^
The run game hasn’t really cut it in the CFP, has it? They need better balance.
February 8th, 2023 at 6:49 AM ^
That is crazy fast. According to the Hello he had a legit sub 4.4 forty in high school so he is crazy fast. FWIW David Long has the fourth fastest 3-cone drill in NFL history at 6.45.
with our crazy run game a wr who can get separation should score 2-3 touchdowns every game a La CJ last year vs OSU. We should be able to do this even when they don’t stack the box.
February 8th, 2023 at 7:04 AM ^
Hoping he becomes Sainristal but bigger and faster. We need a 2nd CB way more than we need another WR.
February 8th, 2023 at 10:49 AM ^
They could get the kid from Georgia in the portal
February 8th, 2023 at 12:15 PM ^
What kid from Georgia? I must have missed that one.
February 8th, 2023 at 9:13 AM ^
That's great and all but let's see him put up 6+ 100 yd+ at least 1 TD games next season. I'll be more impressed with that. IOW, I want to see him as the first game changing WR, something we haven't seen much of at Michigan in a while, than what he does around cones.
February 8th, 2023 at 9:37 AM ^
Is there a such thing as "Fake 3 Cone Drill Time?" (doesn't have the same ring to it)
How many fakes out of five does this get?
February 8th, 2023 at 10:02 AM ^
5 out of 5. No way this time is accurate. The fastest combine times off all time:
https://www.topendsports.com/sport/gridiron/nfl-draft-results-top.htm
February 8th, 2023 at 10:46 AM ^
Yeah the combine is laser timed, this (based on the video I posted up top) was handtimed.
That said, the thing that's interesting about your link and the fastest cone times is that the list is largely DBs. Walker came in as a WR, but if off season rumors are true and he's now splitting time at CB, this could be an interesting development for a player who has pro-level "corner hips."
February 8th, 2023 at 11:00 AM ^
I think we can agree that hand-timed or not he probably ran a time that's fast as hell and that's awesome regardless.
Is he fast? Absolutely.
Is he really, really fast? Yes.
Is he the fastest of all time? Probably not.
February 8th, 2023 at 11:08 AM ^
I'm not sure if you realize how much a hand time can be off, and how you can go from fast to just meh. Is 4.3 fast? How about 4.5? That could be the difference in a hand time.
February 9th, 2023 at 12:16 AM ^
Fair but a 6.5 gone even is extremely impressive and top 5 combine
