This is a terrible take…

This is a terrible take... even for you

1st of all.. Thanks for the…

1st of all.. Thanks for the post +1

Also, IYO...How much of the contrast in Hoke/Harbaugh players leaving is just the current landscape of college football?

Of the “up & coming” young…

Of the “up & coming” young nfl coaches I’d agree that those who specialize on Offense have had greater success than the others.

Still think there are far more important things when being a great leader/coach than which side of the ball your background is in.

Shifted, leaned, favored etc…

Tilted..

Vrabel seems to be doing…

Vrabel seems to be doing alright.

The game has definitely titled towards the offensive side of the ball & Eric would be my #1 choice but this notion that a good HC has to specialize in offense is a fallacy.

& 1 announced his return…

& 1 announced his return when he would’ve...

could be some roster cleansing. No problem with that but the defections every year need to be managed better. Whether that be through more consistent recruiting or transfer portal.

Clearly didn’t want to be…

Clearly didn’t want to be coached by someone who never played the position....

/s in case it’s not entirely clear.

The big10 would absolutely…

The big10 would absolutely cater to any school that was in this position. Michigan included.

The problem is, for any team to get to that position they have to overcome osu & the favoritism throughout the year.

MSU passed up Meyer?

If…

MSU passed up Meyer?

If that’s indeed true.. how exactly does that change their trajectory?

I’d imagine his tenure would go similarly to how Saban’s did. Elevate their status enough to be noticed & poached by a bigger school. In this scenario, one would hope Zach smith would’ve played the role of Bobby Williams.

You really think Wagner,…

You really think Wagner, Simpson, Matthews etc didn’t talk shit??

Tried getting through it…

Tried getting through it last night & had the same impression. Nice stories but man was it tough to get through.

While I appreciate the mod…

While I appreciate the mod presence & recognize the above exchange escalated rather quickly. It was rather entertaining & imo nice to see someone take 1 of these constantly whiny twits to task.

Judging by the votes, I’m not alone. +1 to every post Sten.

I figured as much, just…

I figured as much, just giving you a hard time.

All indications the past few…

All indications the past few days point to Worthy sticking.

91 is just being his usual ray of sunshine.

While not ideal, Somerville…

While not ideal, Somerville is in the mold of the recent “grow a dt” that’s been an unmitigated disappointment.

He also had an underwhelming sr season & has the looks of someone who peaked early in HS.

Jennings is a loss but if the defections on d indicate changes on that side of the ball (mainly Brown/Nua) I’m perfectly fine with them.

Todd went to the G-League in…

Todd went to the G-League in a different sport... but go ahead with ya bpone

Claims being debunked has…

Claims being debunked has never stopped fans from attributing what they want from said claim & continuing to pass them off as gospel.

There’s been so many contradicting “claims” from many known & portrayed insiders that one can conceivably connect dots in whatever manner they desire.

As with most things, (seemingly even more so when Harbaugh & contracts are involved. His staffs included) it’s best to take things as they come & prepare to be surprised when the dust settles.

That’s fair.

Im of the…

That’s fair.

Im of the opinion that if after year 6, you genuinely need to “blow things up”, it’s probably best to do so with different leadership.

Did urban not explicitly say…

Did urban not explicitly say in the same conversation he mentioned “blowing things up” that he wasn’t referring to getting rid of Harbaugh but more the, player development, strength & conditioning, recruiting & culture side of things?

If my memory is correct, than he did exactly as you’re saying he didn’t & yet we have multiple people on this board & I’m sure others, that are using his “blow things up” line completely out of context.

Urban is possibly the goat college coach in my lifetime. He is also the coach who was removed from that position @ our most hated rival, who still works very closely with its current head coach & Urban’s hand picked staff. Not to mention whatever his position is in there athletic department. There is simply no denying his coaching acumen, there should however be an exceptional amount of questions regarding his sincerity especially in regards to the Michigan football program.

Never said only but I’m also…

Never said only but I’m also not ready to wave the white flag on Seldon, Perry, Turner, Green etc just yet.

unlike defensive tackle, they’ve maintained an acceptable # of mid level recruits. Production to start the year was abysmal to say the least but it was also one of (the only??) positions to improve from game 1.

This is where I’m at.

Ed -…

This is where I’m at.

Ed - proven coach & better recruiter than we were led to believe.

Jay - has proven to be one of the better coaches & is top 2ish recruiter on staff. That said, wouldn’t be upset either way.

Zordich - one of if not the best actual coach on the staff. Recruiting struggles magnified this year but he’s someone I’d be perfectly fine seeing stay.

Nua - an unmitigated disaster. Have seen poor play & even worse recruiting since he was brought on. Can’t be shown the door soon enough imo.

Moore - Seems to be an ace recruiter & average coach. I’d be ok either way.

McDaniels - see Nua

This is perplexing to me as…

This is perplexing to me as well. Not to mention some of those parroting Campbell’s accomplishments are also often the same that pine for spread offense.

Exactly. Herbstreit’s…

Exactly. Herbstreit’s comments were calculated & tactical. He wanted to start the narrative that we were/would duck osu.

1. Attempt to put “pressure” on coaches/administration to avoid any potential bad optics.

2. To allow him & his fellow mouthpieces to have something else to pile on if/when it happens.

3. Cry wolf if it ends up effecting Ohio’s postseason.

What likely happened was big…

What likely happened was big was reading the tea leaves & adding his own twist in an attempt to maintain his “insider status” with the few who still believe he has any.

Shockingly pretentious &…

Shockingly pretentious & unaware even for this board.

Clearly playing against our…

Clearly playing against our d in practice has given them the impression that every team is this incompetent.

Agree Don.

I like Sam,…

Agree Don.

I like Sam, have followed him since the Tom Beaver days. Personally I enjoy his overly optimistic take on things as I’m generally an optimist myself. Just have to temper expectations at times, but as you point out, this may not be one of those.

Agree although the hit rate…

Agree although the hit rate on this years instate class is dismal & is more alarming than missing in a RB.

I do encourage people to read the article OP is referencing as this is the only negative piece in it. Sam/247’s propensity to paint things in a more positive light caveats apply but overall impressions from last weeks recruiting visit were surprisingly positive.

4* WR commit from California.

4* WR commit from California.

(OP probably figured most people would know Dixon without context)

“Who knows what next…

“Who knows what next Saturday has? We might be in a dogfight. We might be winning by a lot, might be losing by a lot. Nobody knows.”

Ffs that’s a Michigan captain talking about a game against Rutgers.

Pathetic

Pathetic

Except that’s not at all…

Except that’s not at all what he said...

We rushed for 256 yds @9yds…

We rushed for 256 yds @9yds a carry. I’d say that was pretty useful.

“Harbaugh mentioned Hayes…

“Harbaugh mentioned Hayes and Mayfield as the starting tackles”

Yeah that is a interesting…

Yeah that is a interesting take to say the least.

Very seldom is signing up with a lame duck coach & subsequently producing even worse results than prior to arriving a “strategic” move or good for future opportunities.

Yak was a good coach for us & had an undeniably positive impact on on defense. He also, as many have pointed out had some truly special defenders who fit in certain spots that we simply don’t have this year & neither does Texas judging by the regression.

Seriously.. between the…

Seriously.. between the multiple accounts & ridiculously hawt takes he’s a shell of the guy who was able to convince many he actually had insider status.

you’re either an adult with…

you’re either an adult with the mentality of a 8 year old (Braylon, Marcus ray, Ace Williams) or  someone’s kid who stumbles upon a nugget or 2 of info a few times a year.

Either way, it’s a bad enough look when you do it under your original handle but the extra accounts only add to your ? legacy

Right, just like brown,…

Right, just like brown, Gattis, campy, partridge, Moore, warrnier etc. if you’re gonna post bullshit at least make it somewhat reasonable.

There are plenty of legit frustrations with the athletic programs & I hate to break it to you & the other minions but some of the biggest are institutional.

We have alums on field after championship games handing out cash, heisman trophy candidates who’s class schedule consists of an online degree. Yet we handcuff ourselves by “doing things the Michigan way”. Some acknowledge this & accept things for what they are, others (like yourself) cry at every hiccup & “demand” pay-cuts, firings etc. like your incessant bitching is a badge of honor. Hate to break it to you but it’s not & only serves to make you look like the small minded trolls the vocal minority around here are.

Because of an oft injured…

Because of an oft injured small dt who did little in the few games he was healthy?...ok Cheryl

Yes

Yes

Appreciate the work you put…

Appreciate the work you put into these. Always a must read.

So you propose the coaches…

So you propose the coaches should be able to forecast players future injuries?

There’s never any shortage of ridiculous takes on this site but this right here is up there with some of the most ridiculous.

It was Henry Ruggs

It was Henry Ruggs

I got it but it just shows…

I got it but it just shows as a blank box when I try to post it.

(No subject)

Bill O’Brien did the cleanup…

Bill O’Brien did the cleanup. Franklin got the job when O’Brien left for the nfl.

DPJ is a long strider not…

DPJ is a long strider not the quick twitch make a guy miss type athlete. Peppers was both good @ fielding nearly everything & making people miss.

Donavan is very reliable when coming up & making the catch in the right situation which is a very valuable trait but doesn’t make him a natural in the other traits than translate into a natural punt returner.

Basically, he is good, in fact better than many we’ve had over the years. Just not peppers or Breaston good.

DPJ is good but not peppers…

DPJ is good but not peppers good is all I’m saying. I’m also not referring to the ND game.I thought avoiding it in those conditions was the right call.

Peppers was amazing at it…

Peppers was amazing at it.

DPJ leaves a lot of yards on the field by allowing the ball to hit the turf. Great athlete but certainly not a natural punt returner & nowhere near Jarbril in that aspect.

This is a hilariously bad…

This is a hilariously bad take even for you.
