Michigan players going to the Senior Bowl
The following players are participating in the senior bowl and therefore won't be coming back next year;
Wilson, Henderson, Keegan, Barner, McGregor, Barrett, Mikey
I was kinda hoping we could keep Barner and McGregor another year so that kinda sucks.

Not that surprised about Barner. He's had a massive year with his blocking and had some good games receiving too. McGregor I'm a little surprised by, but he just may feel like his college journey is finished, which I respect a lot.

Barner was a 10/10 as a transfer. For himself and for Michigan. He fit perfectly into everything a Harbaugh offense wants to do. And in doing so, probably got himself an NFL career -- like Schoonmaker and McKeon.

Yeah, with Loveland coming back Barner was still going to be #2 TE in terms of pass emphasis. Can't argue with him going. Will always be remembered fondly. He's going to make some NFL team happy.

I was hoping McGregor would stay but what a way to go: All Big Ten HM, College Degree, 3x Big Ten Champ, National Champion. Hopefully the league sees how much he still has to show!

Plus his pancake on Mikey's pick return!

What is the money raised going too if they alls are leaving?

Those who stay

Keeping Texas from taking our DTs

You're definitely up there for most miserable poster.

I am really going to miss Mikey...!

Bummed McGregor is leaving. I think he will play on Sundays. He's gotten stronger each year and I think there still.is meat on bone...

Not trying to get people’s hopes up, but I believe accepting invites at this point is not a formal draft declaration. Again not to say those with eligibility remaining won’t leave, just that a return is not yet forgone.

Technically true, so there's room for these guys to change their minds, but this certainly signals that they've made a decision as of right now.

Godspeed, gentlemen.

Another year could really have benefitted McGregor's draft position.

I figured Barner was gone. Malik Carr might be his replacement.
Hope Nugent stays. Would really be huge. Trente too. Got to keep as much of OL in tact as possible.

Maliq Carr committed to Houston

I have a good feeling about Trente, which would really help. But I think Nugent was a grad transfer. I mean you have to leave college some time, don't you?
If Trente stays we have El Hadi, Crippen, Trente, and Hinton. That's not a bad start. Add in a couple or three transfers and we'll be good to go.
Of course, the big one is JJ.

Nugent has announced he's entering the NFL draft.

All the players want to try on their teammates Michigan helmets. That’s a pretty big selection.

Good luck to them all! And while all big losses we will get to see the guys behind them step up and see who from the portal wants to join the reigning champs. One of the best and most amazing things about this team is that there were so few “stars” and so many guys who just made plays when called upon. That seems far more replicable with developing young guys and plugging in key players from the portal. Don’t get me wrong there isn’t another Blake Corum or Mike Sainristil just lying around but I’m excited to see what the next generation can do in these systems

Not only McGregor and Barner, but also Henderson. Wish all 3 would come back, but they deserve the opportunity to make a lot of money.
Surprised Barnhardt is not in the game as he has already said he will not be back next year. Trente Jones is one I hope comes back now that He derson is not.

Probably the biggest omission is Kris Jenkins. Is he considering a return?
January 10th, 2024 at 12:43 PM ^
Jenkins doesn’t need to go to the senior bowl to solidify his draft stock.

What a list of favorites. This list provides a lot of evidence for what Klatt was saying in regards to the Michigan title run providing hope for the rest of college football that it won't always be just Alabama, Georgia, Ohio and Clemson winning.
Wilson and Keegan - good recruits, long time starters.
Barner and Henderson - upped their stock at lesser programs and used the portal.
McGregor - high school injury, perhaps capped his potential, stuck with it developed into a quality starter.
Barrett - recruited for a very specific role on a different type of defense, made the journey from fan base meme to a vital defensive star.
Mikey - catching a flea flicker from the slot vs OSU in 21 to big game and Championship sealing interceptions as "the best nickel in college football".
January 10th, 2024 at 9:25 AM ^
It's incredible that 2 years ago Mikey was still a slot WR. What a journey. What's career.
January 10th, 2024 at 9:28 AM ^
Going to have to get some more from the transfer portal

Barner is the one that hurts the most IMO.
Loveland, for all his talent, is not a good blocker (yet). My hot take is that Barner was the unspoken TE1 this year. We need to replace that…or maybe Bredesen can take on more of that role.
January 10th, 2024 at 10:29 AM ^
It hurts but he have Klein, Marshall and Tonielli in the pipeline and one of our best TE recruit combos ever coming in. Hansen in particular is supposed to come in as a polished blocker.
