I usually play one of the Palmetto Dunes courses if not gunning for Harbor Town or the Ocean Course (which only has one view of the ocean) now known as Atlantic Dunes.

For restaurants, I like Skull Creek Bistro and next door Hudsons is a little nicer.  Lowcountry Backyard is a pretty chill spot with good eats.  Probably have to make the stop at Salty Dog.

Hard to go wrong there, most spots are good.

i didn’t know my last games…

i didn’t know my last games would be my last games. high school ended with a red card. college i had an injury and never came back. i filled the void with parties and hot babes. as i aged i relied on golf to get my competitive juices flowing. however, no matter how much i grind or how much money i throw at the sport i just can’t compete at the level i was in my primary sport.

so now, i force my 5 and 7 year old children to train in that sport day and night. they will dominate the globe in the beautiful game one day. i will make it to the top vicariously through them. if not i may just get a camaro and drive fast.

Tend to agree with most of what you said.  If the B1G is going to aggressively take up large market cable eyeballs as the driving force - they might as well use that footprint for tourneys.  I like picking a couple cities for a heavy rotation and then every so often throw a bone to the Columbus*/Pitt/Philly/Cleveland type market. Indy, Chicago and Detroit for sure my tier 1.  Then pick two of Minneapolis, DC, NYC, Milwaukee as tier 2.

*I would assume Columbus uses Nationwide Arena in lieu of Value City as they did for the NCAA tourney.

I would agree, especially at…

I would agree, especially at this point in time, it’s Gattis with an INTERIM tag slapped on it.

Gattis has a year tryout while the admin kick the tires on all the big names out there. Stoops, Belicheck, Curly Lambeau, etc.

In all seriousness, it would be a tough spot and they would have to back the brinks truck up to a splash hire if not retaining the current staff and Haurbaugh infrastructure.

I read a reporter on twitter…

I read a reporter on twitter (forget who) that the hang up for the ACC is how ND is classified relative to an 8 or 12 team playoff. ACC wants ND counted as a member institution of the ACC - obviously for more money in the coffers. i can’t remember exactly, i’ve been smoking banana peels, but it was something like if it’s 8 they want ND included in ACC but would be okay with 12 and no ND. Or I could have that reversed.  So ACC is dragging their feet on expansion until that is defined.

No clue how accurate and/or dialed in the reporter is/was.

Although with Day promoting…

Although with Day promoting Hartline to PGC, it will be interesting to see how that affects the "recruitment" of UCLA"s OC/OL coach Justin Frye. Would their offense have 3 coordinators between Kevin Wilson, Just Frye, and Hartline?

Lots of the state/public schools do this with job titles to allow for pay raises. Sometimes they have little to no change is job scope but some extra words in the job title allows for a pay raise to get voted on and approved.

But yeah, potentially lots of chefs in the kitchen.

Hartline has arguably been…

Hartline has arguably been one of the best recruiters in the country the last few years. That WR room is insanely loaded with recruiting ranking stars.

I have seen Hartline say that he is comfortable being a position coach and hands on but out of the spotlight - with no real ambition to move up the coaching ranks. Obviously helps to have NFL money in the bank. We will see how that plays out as other schools come knocking.

There are a fair amount of…

There are a fair amount of schools across the country that have a money cannon.  Its just a matter of where they decide to point it.

Wonder how many (or how much $) of these deals are local  - and how many are bigger regional/national brands funneled to a specific university's players via a powerful booster/alum.

Some of the NIL deals, like the big Kombucha deal Quinn Ewers signed (over $1MM?) followed him from OSU to Texas.

Agree with your take.  OSUs…

Agree with your take.  OSUs roster was extremely young and got even younger on the field as the year went on since Day’s regime seemed to butt heads with some of the elders in Urban’s last classes - resulting in some mid-season transfers.  Dont think they intended to play a number of the guys that were thrown in this season.  They are talented but can Day develop them and get them to play tough?  This coming season will be huge for Day to either prove he’s keeping the Death Star operational or if he becomes Larry Coker pt 2 Electric Boogaloo.

Outside of M and possibly a PSU or Wisco, they can still simply out talent most of the B1G regardless of scheme.

well, in Knowles 3 years at OK St their defense improved each year. lots of sacks. runs an aggressive 4-2-5 scheme.

look at it this way, Ewers…

look at it this way, Ewers just collected six (possibly seven) figures in NIL money to train and practice in a world class setting for 3 months instead of attending high school. Dude basically got paid to go to NFL vocational camp for his senior project and now transfers back home better and richer with a full 4 years of eligibility. Doubt he regrets it - gamed the system.

i was messaging with the…

i was messaging with the vatican and they told me that ND wanted Fickell but he wasn’t willing to talk to anyone until Cincinnati’s season is over - whenever that may be. ND didn’t want to wait and there was a ground swell of support for Freeman within the program - multiplied by the coaching carousel happening and lots of schools kicking the tires on Freeman for both HC and DC roles - and that all adds to the recipe for ND to lock down Freeman plus the remaining staff in an effort for stability and youth.

ND opens the season with OSU…

ND opens the season with OSU next year. Interesting turn of events, for sure.

Came from Bo. Any loss is a result of getting jobbed by the refs…or a secret mandate from the conference against UM.

It’s embarrassing to see/hear that after every loss.

I do agree there is officiating that is head scratching…but it’s across the board in most sports. i’m not going to hypothesize in the reasons why - but lots of close calls or objective flags in all games

Here, there were numerous chances to salt that game away and/or make better decisions. The refs didn’t job blue here.

Ewers is worth the hype. He looked human in that game with 2 picks but did also have 350some yards and 3 tuddies and that Westlake D was best scoring D in the state.

Klubnik looked like a 5 star in the that game. The Westlake rushing attack was big but Klubnik looked polished when needed. Despite the statistics, it looked like Klubnik had the better game.

The biggest surprise of that game is when the Coyotes came back out of the locker room without legendary coach Bud Kilmer. We learned they mutinied on him and injured 5 star Lance took over coaching duties. Wild ending.

along the lines of the fermi paradox i find the theories interesting that given the shear volume and numbers, there almost certainly has to be intelligent life out there. however, give how fast galaxies and masses are moving apart from each other in the vastness of the universe that nobody can over come those distances thus rendering us essentially all alone. BUT some stars and planets are billions of years older than us. possible an advanced civilization is that much older than us and their probes are reaching us and/or they can see all they need to with their satellites at such a distance we don’t detect them. too much for my little brain to comprehend without heavy psychedelics.

It’s not just M and Sparty. guy is a scorer. kinda reminds me of the dude at the YMCA that chucks and somehow makes it...a lot. washington had some big games this year but also wilted in some big spots down the stretch. overall, found himself a great role on a team full of B+ guys.

No clue either unless there is some non-public info that is floating around NFL circles about Bienemy that is making clubs walk away from hiring him.  And maybe they ask him to explain it in the interview and its not good.

I can’t really think of any real reasons why he is getting interviews still but no jobs.  It’s one thing if he wasn’t getting interviews but he is.  It’s perplexing.

32 losses over 17 years is…

32 losses over 17 years is unreal. I tend to think Meyer will adapt X’s and O’s and do well in the NFL grinder. However, there is a reason Jax has the 1st pick. Plus coaching grown ass men who are pros is far different than the college coaching god complex many of these guys get. Factor in Meyer burning hot and heavy with a short shelf life. 5 year max is my guess. And at that time his losses will be at exactly 32.

Take it to the bank.

Probably.  But watch their defense be top 3 in the country.

Arizona loves Michigan sloppy seconds.

their scheme is different…

their scheme is different without halfley. i also thought injuries in the secondary and then covid upfront severely limited their personnel and base sets. they often ran out of a 4-4 last night. i can’t imagine coombs is that bad at calling defense to run that set against Bama unless short bodied. or perhaps, he is just a bad play caller...like really bad.

Now look up Quinn Ewers.

Great point. Look at last night where Bama had Najee Harris, Mac Jones, etc return. Where Ohio State was missing Chase Young, Dobbins, Okudah all out of that same class. The upper classmen returning on the covid eligibility next year is something to watch.

RichRod supposedly passed on Bama. So they hired Saban. In his first year Saban lost to ULM. Now all these years later they hire RichRod...as OC.

Not sure you pay Gus to go away and then make a move like this. But the Harsin seems like he’ll be a safe bet. Just hard when your next door neighbor is your rival and overlord of CFB.

BERT is a much better fit in the B1G.

He had Wisconsin humming with 40 wins in 4 years and 3 B1G titles. This is a nice hire for an Illinois program that is down in the dumps. Bert will speak out and make a nice heel over there in Champaign.
