It sometimes carries the game being aired on ESPN. But you're out of luck for anything on another ESPN channel unless you have a cable/satelling subscription to long in with.
Yup. Lansing media sure swept this one under the rug.
Not expecting someone who lives out of the market to monitor Lansing media, but at least use the Google before posting something like that. The LSJ, WLNS and WILX have been running stories on MSU handling of sex assault cases for years. No one cared until the Nassar story went national.
We were down 17-7 with a minute left in the first half. We went up 42-24 in the fourth and then had to recover an onside kick to seal the win. I remember our group sitting in silence for the last 5 minutes. I got in the car to go home and heard Calvin Magee tell Brandstatter something to the effect of “you never apologize for a win.” That’s when I started to think the RichRod thing was never going to work.
Except those lawsuits will almost certainly never get to discovery. Michigan State is not going to allow Simon and the trustees to be put under oath. MSU, for all its bluster now, will settle before that happens.
Matt Costello, the grittiest gritterson who ever gritted, is from the mean streets of Linwood, MI.
Where a guy is from has little to do with how tough he is or how much "dog" he has in him or whatever nonsense you want to trot out to express your frustration with how this season has gone. You want to argue about player development, fine. Complain about the terrible defense, sure. But if location and inner-city toughness was really the key to winning then Duke would be awful and every coach would be flocking to the prison gym where Shaq played ball in Blue Chips.
To be fair, JJ had almost nothing to do with the show beyond the initial setup. Carlton Cuse was brought in early and he brought in Lindelof, so blame them for the lousy ending.
I work in Lansing media and I can tell you that based on every single interaction I've seen between the two of them that he would sing The Victors at the MSU team banquet before he would mean mug his wife. Mrs. Datonio runs shit in that family.
I used to work on the coaches shows when they were produced at WLAJ in Lansing in the late 90s. Izzo and Greg Kelser couldn't have been nicer guys. Friendly to the staff despite having to be there at 7am on a Sunday. There was one instance when Izzo asked at the last minute if he could tape the show at 11:30 on a Thursday so the team could catch a later flight back from a road trip. We were gung ho cause it meant we could sleep in on Sunday. Izzo thanked us like we'd given him money.
Saban was absolutely terrifying. I corrected him once when he referred to Memphis as "Memphis State" and he looked at me like he was going to eat my heart before he thanked me. Saban used to curse out George Blaha for jumping his cue and making them start over.
Ron Mason was nice enough but he spent most of his time flirting with the women on the staff and telling us why he thought Sergei Fedorov was a bum.
Brady did start that game. Henson came in for the 2nd Q and threw and 85 yd td to Knight. He started the third and threw a killer pick. Brady almost led us back in the 4th. Burress made an amazing catch to pick up a first down to ice it. he was uncoverable that day. We even tried Terrell on him.
NBC has told its affiliates the 2012 Michigan game will be a night game.
I was a production assistant on the MSU coaches shows in '97 and '98. Izzo was an incredibly nice guy to the staff, a bunch of hungover 20somethings who would rather be dead than at work at 7am Sunday. He once called the station on a Thursday evening to ask if we could tape the show that night because of the team's travel plans. Izzo and Greg Kelser then proceeded to shake hands with and thank every member of the staff for helping the team out by rescheduling at the last minute. Little shit like that says more to me about a guy than his reaction after losing a one-point game to your rival.
As an aside, Saban was a gigantic asshole on Sunday mornings. He was pissed if MSU won the day before and he was homicidal if they lost. George Blaha kept jumping his cue one morning, forcing us to start over. Saban's reax: "Can we hurry this shit up, George? I have to get to fucking church."
Ron Mason was polite and friendly, but gave off this, "Everybody come see how good I look!" vibe.
What did you say about Jon Shaw?
I'm not ready to give up on Moore yet. IIRC, he was supposed to be a pretty good athlete coming out of high school. Hopefully with a full offseason in the system we an get a senior-year blossoming like with Joppru and to a lesser extent Bill Seymour/Andy Mignery.
In situations like this, the conference informs the school it's reviewing an incident, with a decision to come within three days. MSU is trying to get out ahead of it.
I read somewhere yesterday that the Big East is trying to lure Boise State. I could see the Pac 12 going after SDSU just for the media market if they go to 16.
The Syracuse pat vs Toledo.
I'd have ND ahead of MSU given how badly they stomped State.
The guy acted like an asshole so he deserved to be treated like one. Good for Gundy. You know the carpenter was bragging to his friends about wearing the shirt the night before. Jobs are precious these days, don't screw yourself out of one by being cute.
Not pummelling a Rice grad goes a long way towards being a class act.

You should try a more reputable strip club.
Doesn't matter who the coach is until washed-up guys like Rip, Tayshaun, Ben and McGrady are out of the locker room. They need to go before they contaminate Monroe, Daye and Jerebko.
How does Utah draw 14,000 people to a gymnastics meet?
Agreed, but at least it's black and white, unlike basketball.
And thanks, mfaninohio, for posting. I had zero understanding of hockey seeding and pairwise until these updates came along.
Yeah, Purdue lost Siller on the first play and Henry couldn't throw for shit. On top of that, they yaketey saxed us two fumbles on the zone read and another on the punt return. It was great to see a few bounces go our way and to see the D clamp down on an inferior opponent for a change.

Exactly. We lost a Rose Bowl to a Charles White phantom TD and a ND game to a Carlyle Holliday phantom TD.

Agreed on both counts. I just picked Costello because he's their best post player.

I've always loved his expanation for taking a plea bargain:
"Where's the evidence? Where's the manure? I know I didn't do it -- I just wanted to get it over with."
What did you do besides add .mp3?
I tried adding the .mp3 to the end but that didn't work.
Thank you, sir.
The direct download link appears to be broken.

It was 1997.

This is a regularly-scheduled presser. MSU does all their press conferences on Tuesdays.

Any relation to former UM tackle Bryant Nowicki?
Or Pryor is a five-star porn recruit as well.
Didn't Clarett do that to Carr for the 2001 OSU game? I seem to remember him cheering for them on the UM sideline.
You mean the White Lines, flowing through my mind?

I prefer Sinbad's more dynamic performance in Houseguest.
The score is a statistic.
And really, why shouldn't the stats count? The game is still going, the players/teams still racked up their yards, catches, etc.
Like syphilis.
Or if you're going to whine about at least be a man and call Zook an asshole.
They're 6-2 and I seem to remember a lot of asses puckering the last time Brady Hoke coached against us.
