OT - Wow. OSU Burned By Recruit For Free Airfare
Apparently Tank Carradine (memba him?) scheduled an official visit to OSU. Took the flight and instead of visiting OSU went to see his mother in Cincinnati
This has to be unprecedented. I wonder if they will try to bill him for it?

Couldn't happen to a better school.

I could use a flight to Florida... anyone willing to make me a fake HS highlight video and send it to the new coaches at UF?
December 14th, 2010 at 6:16 PM ^
Like that kid from Las Vegas a couple years back who had a fake news conference to commit to a school which hadn't recruited him?
December 14th, 2010 at 7:25 PM ^
I never really knew if I should feel bad for that kid or laugh at him...
December 14th, 2010 at 8:42 PM ^
He was actually from a small town near Reno. It caused one hell of a stir on the Nevada coaching staff as they were trying to figure out how'd they'd missed a kid like that in their own backyard. He claimed to have a choice between Oregon and Cal and picked Cal.

which part are you at?
nine mile's driving me crazy.
December 14th, 2010 at 6:44 PM ^
I was at 8 mile and Meadowbrook at that point, there was a bad accident at the intersection...Nothing like a 45 minute drive home when you work 4 miles away...haha!

i work right by there and work has been from home this week. prob until tomorrow. fuuuuuuuuugggg
December 14th, 2010 at 7:25 PM ^
i didn't know you were around novi area..
strange strange mgoblog connections
December 14th, 2010 at 5:52 PM ^
By the way, this is why I'm glad we didn't recruit Tank Carradine again. He was a questionable-character guy in high school, and apparently he still is.
December 14th, 2010 at 6:41 PM ^
...but his application of logic is unparalleled.
December 14th, 2010 at 8:02 PM ^
recruiting talent looks like a no no for M*chigan anyways.
December 14th, 2010 at 9:44 PM ^
he just has a bad travel agent.
December 14th, 2010 at 9:54 PM ^
maybe took a wrong turn at Albuquerque
December 14th, 2010 at 5:53 PM ^
if he signs with Michigan, Ohio, or Cincy, then the man deserves a Nobel Peace Prize under the category of Boom Rostedology.
December 14th, 2010 at 5:56 PM ^
notwithstanding his good taste in not becoming a buckeye.
December 14th, 2010 at 5:57 PM ^
It just gets better and better...
December 14th, 2010 at 5:57 PM ^
Awesome
December 14th, 2010 at 5:59 PM ^
He's kinda a big deal too...I imagine the OSU fanbase was getting pretty pumped about his visit
December 14th, 2010 at 8:04 PM ^
We have much bigger fish to fry. One recruit doesn't make or break their class unlike Michigan's.
December 14th, 2010 at 6:03 PM ^
There should be somethign to prevent this type of thing. Ohio State should bill him
December 14th, 2010 at 6:05 PM ^
Trucker justice is not kind.
December 14th, 2010 at 6:07 PM ^
Rarely legal too
December 14th, 2010 at 6:06 PM ^
I can't imagine the NCAA is just going to let this slide....even if they don't get the kid they'll set up some kinda rule for this...I'm no OSU guy but come on dude...
December 14th, 2010 at 7:22 PM ^
December 14th, 2010 at 9:38 PM ^
I don't foresee any consequences. His escapade involved a parent so the NCAA will let him off.
December 14th, 2010 at 6:05 PM ^
Man, that is bad. Sounds like a great scholar.
December 14th, 2010 at 6:05 PM ^
Ha. Funniest thing I've read all day. Way to stick it to them Tank!
December 14th, 2010 at 6:05 PM ^
So in other news did everyone catch the Chick Fil A advertisement on the side of that article??
Im assuming that
EAT
MORE
wasnt really what they wanted to portray. Just saying
December 14th, 2010 at 6:42 PM ^
It's not an actual Chick-Fil-A ad (it's an ad for playing South Carolina in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl), but it is absolutely hilarious! I definitely agree that they didn't think that through how that would read real well...
December 14th, 2010 at 7:22 PM ^
Not actually an ad at all. It's the site being funny.
December 14th, 2010 at 6:08 PM ^
My favorite Ohio State recruiting story is when they recruited Curtis Enis who went to Penn St. They sent him a letter and wrote his name as Chris Penis.
December 14th, 2010 at 6:10 PM ^
While certainly not this blatant I have heard of recruits tagging along with friends who are also recruits just to attend a game. Of course all the trimmings that go with it.
December 14th, 2010 at 7:30 PM ^
Didn't Clarett do that to Carr for the 2001 OSU game? I seem to remember him cheering for them on the UM sideline.

Takes a lot to outdo the Trans A&M

Solid, upstanding young man.

December 14th, 2010 at 7:38 PM ^
I don't know much about recruiting rules, but technically couldn't that constitute as a recruiting violation as they could argue that OSU paid for him to visit his mother? In that case, wouldn't you think that OSU would self-report?
