Friday Pos-bang since:

  1. UM is still National Champs!
  2. Coach May is killing it putting a team together
  3. NFL Draft weekend
  4. ...and kwallace2386's thread about some made up guy Dylan Rashada and UM shooting themselves in the foot is hilarious!

So, JJ is now officially a first-round pick.  The rest of the draft is just waiting to see where the other guys land and hoping our individual teams make good decisions.  I have three meetings before I can sharpen my mower blades and slide into the weekend.

The WV center as a backup for guard and center is the biggest one to me in the second followed by secondary, DT and DE as 2nd best available (I think with improving Paschal and Houstan and the new guy we may be servicable opposite Hutch).  Re-sign Decker (not sure what's left in the kitty for Goff/Decker after St. Brown/Sewell) and keep the band together.

I must admit I would like to see Cornelius Johnson drafted later rounds as the Lions 3rd WR option replacing Reynolds. His combine performance and late season clutch catches have changed my mind on him getting drafted versus FA. Not that he cares what I think but just saying.

I'd say Ennis Rakestraw Jr. being drafted by the Lions means they were looking to move Branch back to field general and Mike was in play. Frazier being gone also likely meant one less target. Happy for all the guys yesterday but thought Roman and Kris deserved higher drafting position. Need at the time versus best available affects all teams I guess.

Forecast is a little iffy here in Ann Arbor for Saturday morning but clearing and warm in the afternoon. So i’m thinking of getting the camping gear out and heading to the Diag. Free food and drinks, games, study sessions, etc. Maybe Dennis can join me. ⛺️

Personally, I hate having to root against JJ twice a year. Good for him, though. Those saps in Minnesota paid Kork huge bag, so JJ ought to do pretty well with those soft touches.  I thought the Lions did very well to move up and grab that Bama CB.

Actually, my first awareness of football as an object of viewing and fan interest came from my older brothers and dad watching the Lions in 1960, with Michigan not moving up the board until I went to my first inperson game in 1963.  Although the Lion's bumbling management has done nothing to endear the team to me, there are a ton of players who have done their best in the Honolulu Blue and Silver.  Sorry, JJ, but when the Lions play the vile Vikings, you're going to need to take a paycheck beating.  If it's any consolation, Aiden won't like it, either.

Outside of that well-reasoned response, what is up with the rest of you?  Were did those responses come from?

Draft scene was great.  An amazing amount of people - crazy football fans from everywhere having a good time.  Parking was easy too if you planned it out (take the Qline from New Center).

Had Super Bowl rings from every year on display - no Lions ring, but they had the stand for LIX empty.  So they’re sayin there’s a chance …

Draft stage was huge - me thinks there is a little money in the NFL.

Meeting with my company C-suite guys this afternoon, sporting some tasteful M and Lions apparel, starting every meeting with “You’re on the clock.”

National Champions baby!
