Most of the kids that play…

Most of the kids that play major sports, at major universities, are not concerned with the education they are getting. They are all just looking to be a pro athlete. And the ones that do get some sort of degree, not all, but a lot of them get very generic degrees that are mostly worthless anyways

It is these two entities…

It is these two entities that brought all this NIL nonsense onto us in the first place.

As you have pointed out, they have made tons of money off of college sports. They could've gotten together and worked out some sort of plan to compensate the players, but greed snuck in (mostly the universities) and nope, they wanted it all. Now we are in the Wild Wild West, and have unproven college kids getting paid more than pros. Everyone was concerned about boosters paying athletes, all the NIL did was make that legal.

If they wanted to, they could've made it happen, just like they got together and got the new playoff system together, but wait a minute, the playoff system is just another way to get more money for their pockets.

SWEET.

SWEET.

6. And if someone did bring…

6. And if someone did bring it up, I hope for 2.

It didn't really even look…

It didn't really even look that bad.

When I read "shove", I thought about someone coming up and putting all, of not most, of their power into pushing the guy a few to several feet. It looked like he was pretty worked up and went to get the coaches attention and grabbed his arm, but in his emotionally state was a little too aggressive.

If I was the coach, I would be more pissed about the yelling at me.

No. Not since Detroit lost.

No. Not since Detroit lost.

I guess my question is,…

I guess my question is, because a guy runs a different scheme on D, means he isn't a good hire?

^^This isn't a smart a$$ reply, it is an honest question to ensure I understand the thinking behind the opinion.

The clock is ticking to hire a DC. With our main DC and D line coach gone, SM needs to get something. If not, it could start really impacting somethings (recruiting and portal entries from our guys). I'm not saying hire Joe Schmo from the streets, but the guy has NFL experience, so he is definitely better than most, right?

About damn time one of them…

About damn time one of them stayed!

The reason he didn't take…

The reason he didn't take the OC from Michigan is because the OC is now the Head Coach. If this wasn't the case, this post wouldn't be the case.

Would be nice to see actual…

Would be nice to see actual hires, instead of potential hires.

I sort of feel that way too…

I sort of feel that way too.

When I'm hearing, what feels like every other day, that JH is taking another staff member, or staff member hired by another team, or JH looking at taking additional staff members. Then throw in that there is barely anything being said about the staff that SM (Sherrone Moore) needs to hire.

I continue to hear that the AD is horrible, and doesn't seem to be even helpful in the slightest when it comes to NIL and keeping coaches that want to stay.

And best of all, your hear oSU is getting everyone out of the portal, their supposed first round draftees are sticking around for another year, and they are getting top prospects to commit, and are at the top of other elite prospect list.

Yeah, I think this coming year, and maybe a few more seasons, are going to be potentially pretty crappy.

All just feeling though, so hopeful I am wrong. That is a BIG hope.

SHOCKING..... said no one.

SHOCKING..... said no one.

Man, you guys are making me…

Man, you guys are making me tired, lol.

Great, I am glad that JH has created an awesome atmosphere and developed great coaches, and I really do understand that coaches and players move on to bigger and better things. But when it comes to sports, I am not rational, or emotionally stability (joking, but not really). I want every single great coach to stay at Michigan, and every great player to exhaust their eligibility at Michigan. I want oSU to continue to spend $13 mil every offseason, and still lose to Michigan, and enjoy watching their putrid fanbase stew in their own loathing. I want Michigan to go undefeated for the next 50 years, and win each game by 100 points, I don't even want it to be close dammit! Stop trying to make some of us think logically, because it's not going to happen.

I want my own McDonald's world, where I can have it may way!

Summer time. Toledo weather…

Summer time. Toledo weather has been sort of crappy lately.

For what????

Well known the…

For what????

Well known the S&C Coaches have no where near the responsibility, or the importance in the NFL, as they do in college. Why would someone that their whole job is to physically develop kids into men, go where they are all already men? Ridiculous.

JH again, not doing Michigan any favors in taking a guy that is vital to the program, for a job less suited for the man's skills.

At least work it out with the man and bring him along to LA after a couple of seasons with SM, to help ease transition. SM is young and I can't imagine that he has a TON of time in the coaching ranks to meet and know specific people he wants at key positions. Hope he has good networking skills, and someone throws him some bones, like JH's brother did for him.

I sort of feel like JH is trying to make the turnover as difficult as possible, with no regard for the future of the program that he "loves". Song and dance flirting with the NFL for three years, taking Jesse Minters (may or may not have happened anyways, but you never know), taking Ben Herbert, not telling JJ that he needs another year to develop, like what the hell? What is he thinking, "I built it, I'm going to destroy it too".

So many concerning things have/are happening that really makes you question things.

Hope JH has something better in mind for the man, cause I would hate to see the guy go waste his talents in the NFL.

Good luck to him.

But…

Good luck to him.

But honestly, I am tried of seeing him come up on sports sites, and in my news feed wearing Michigan gear. I get that the sports world probably doesn't have any other recent photos of him, but it is still a bad reminder of him leaving. Wish they would all use photo shop and put some crappy, pixelated Chargers emblems over The Block M.

Dang! I had a big feeling…

Dang! I had a big feeling this was going to happen, but I was holding on to a little hope that the success and player relationships that he built at Michigan might have pulled on his heart strings a little bit, and made him want to stay and help SM for the first couple years.

I looked at the MGOBOARD faq…

I looked at the MGOBOARD faq post before posting. What did miss that'll get me in trouble?

I agree with the OP.

I…

I agree with the OP.

I sadly, but honestly think that JH really wanted to go back to the NFL. That started to become obvious a few years ago, when he started flirting with the NFL. And part of me agrees, that maybe JH and his agents did make the immunity demands, knowing that they were going to be next to impossible to get approved, and throw in the late take effect date...This would give him the max amount of time to interview for as many NFL jobs a s possible.

Additionally, I wonder if knew that he had the players (especially QB) that he knew were great and fit what he wanted done, and that made staying at Michigan easier? Now that a large majority of them are leaving, staying after this year was a definite a "no-go"? Maybe he didn't want to stick around until another JJ Mccarthy showed up?

In the end, I think he truely wanted to be in the NFL. After "parting ways" (encouraged to mutually part ways, if not you are fired) with the 49ers, the Michigan job became avaialble, and when NFL teams started to become interested in JH again, he started flirting with them again. So again, the NFL was always his destination, IMO.

The thing that chaps me the most about this is, the thing that I was hoping Michigan and JH differed from the rest of the sporting world, JH mentioned he wanted to stay, he wasn't going anywhere, he wasn't going to entertain the NFL jobs anymore. But, in the end he left, and he chose to leave. Michigan football means something to me, and for reasons that I will not mention here, Michigan is something special, and for the program to get to the heights that it got to, and for JH just to walk away. That is painful. You don't just walk away from a place you love, even if it was the "11th" hour.

So, maybe the fault lies a little bit with everyone, but the ending, I do believe, was already predetermined.

He doesn't want it. The only…

He doesn't want it. The only reason he pretends to is in case the NFL doesn't call him back, he'll still have a job. That's why he wants immunity verbage in this contract, because he knows it'll be a big reach for the University to put it in, and he knows it. There is also the late take effect date, so he can have every opportunity for the NFL to hire him. Plus, he would have never interviewed for NFL openings during the past few off seasons if he wanted to stick around.

Do what you want to do, but stop beating around the bush about it. I bet there is a ton of people that are stressed out and working their butts off to try and get this contact written up, approved, and signed. Don't make these people work like crazy if there isn't a real chance of signing it. Plus, stop driving the fans nuts (I'm one of them). Just leave.

Hope not! Leave Minter alone…

Hope not! Leave Minter alone.

If he wants Sherrone Moore to takeover the program, he sure isn't trying to help him be successful. Taking everything with him.

Built the program up, and now kicks the support right out from underneath it.

May not be intentional, but he might end up screwing the program over. Hope we all enjoyed the short stint of glory.

Why do I imagine that…

Why do I imagine that Michigan football is looking like a skeleton freshly picked clean by the vultures?

oSU is SOOO scared of losing to Michigan, that they are buying every player worth anything.

Trending oSU according to some reports................. great.

OMG! The music is absolutely…

OMG! The music is absolutely hilarious! I had a smile from the moment it began!!

A lot of people are neg…

A lot of people are neg bombing you (I probably will get it to after this, because we all know we have the "what are you talking about", "you're crazy", and the "this is the most ridiculous" guys/gals out there), but I see where you are coming from in your views.

I have to say that I absolutely have loved what Michigan has done the past few years, beating oSU, beating PSU, winning BIG10 championships and the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP!! Believe me, the better part of my life, and just about all of my adult life, those topics and Michigan have not been in the same sentence, let alone in anyone's thoughts. So I definitely DO NOT want to return to mediocracy. So thank God we have gotten to where we are now.

But getting back to what you are saying, I agree. JH has done great things, but at this very moment, I think what is playing out in the media and a lot of people's minds IS hurting the program. I've said it in the past, stability within a program keeps the program moving forward. Recruits see/hear what's happening, other coaches see/hear what's happening, and current players see/hear what's happening.

I just saw a video on touyube that said Donovan and Will are already getting NIL offers to transfer..... With the current state of Michigan coaching, what's to keep them from saying peace? And with the NFL talks the past few years, you better believe that other school's coaches are usinv that against us. I would be.

The past few year's NFL flirtation is a buzz kill. And it is impossible to tell what it has done to potential recruits and transfers. There is a top 100 kid, right now, that has Michigan in his top two, and is waiting to see what happens with Harbaugh. Kid is an All American, and may be the fastest kid in this recruiting class. Very good chance that he goes with his other top school purely because he doesn't know what will happen. I am sure that isn't the lone case, but we may never know.

IMO, if Harbaugh is leaving, stop stringing us along with your "I'll stay as long as they will have me" quotes, while turning around and interviewing for NFL jobs, and just leave, so Michigan can move on and figure out who the next head coach is going to be.

Let the NEG Bombing, begin.....

I would like to see Minter…

I would like to see Minter stick around d either way, whether Sherrone is HC and keeps him as DC, or Minter gets pick to be HC.

I was never really a defensive guy, but since Minter came around, I love it, and don't want to lose it.

I agree that SM delivered at…

I agree that SM delivered at those times, but when you are a Head Coach vs a coordinator standing in as HC? Honestly, how much of the game plan was JH talking in his ear before the game, and if SM takes over as HC, and JH isn't there everyday harping about the game plan, will SM start doing his own planning, and decision making? The two latter have not been shown yet.

Harbaugh's game plan, players, hired coordinators vs Sherrone's game plan, players, coordinators?

I hope that Sherrone Moore is successful, because I am human, and don't want to see anyone (except oSU) fail. And I am a Michigan Fans, and if he is next in line, I REALLY don't want to see him fail!!!

As long as the coach we hire…

As long as the coach we hire, is NOT Brian Kelly. I've seen that name pop a couple times in the "news" as a possible coaching candidate.

I got to admit that I am not…

I got to admit that I am not a fan of the trick plays that he seems to call just about every game (halfback pass, flea flicker). They were cute the first time or two, but after that, it was like dude, come on! Not to mention JJ got smashed by that bama guy and could have really got hurt.

Wanting immunity from NCAA…

Wanting immunity from NCAA penalties and sanctions, struck me as a little odd. I understand why someone would want that, but I am not sure I have ever heard it being included in contract? To an outsider it does kind of paint the picture of someone guilty of something. But if he is guilty of something, why even bring that up, and not just straight up leave?

To bad. It was an…

To bad. It was an interesting thought about him being a Wolverine.

Not sure why he really wanted another year in college, cause I think he was a pretty good QB. Just to bad for him that it was at Maryland. He was the main reason it wasn't a guarantee to beat them.

I am surprised by this too…

I am surprised by this too. He did pretty good when he was in, but he never really played consistently through each game and/or entire game. Believe he was mainly in with the jumbo package?

Maybe sign as a undrafted free agent some where?

Hope he makes his way onto a team. Good Luck Big Man!!!

Believe he just came off a…

Believe he just came off a visit there. Raved about the coaches, including someone name T Rob?

It makes me nauseous every…

It makes me nauseous every time I go to the website and read their comments. I think to myself "what is wrong with these vile people?" They act exactly what you would expect a spoiled child would act like when someone tells them "no" for the first time in their lives.

So what you are saying is…

So what you are saying is that I can not have my own opinion? Maybe we don't need your opinion, because the way you sound, you sound like some people over on 11 worriers with the way you talk. What is wrong with me wanting to have a dominate run like Alabama, Georgia, USC, and maybe I don't want to lose to oSU anytime soon? My comment was mostly inregards to JH. Everything you read it makes it sound like he wants to stay, but the next thing you read says that he might be interviewing for the pros. He doesn't owe me anything, but I do wish he would just say it. And JJ can do what ever he wants, just like I can wish for whatever I want.

People like you, make me laugh when you say "triggered".

I wonder "what" feeling…

I wonder "what" feeling wanted really means to JH? Everything we hear,  makes it feel like it may not be the amount of money he gets paid? So what else could it be?

With what he accomplished at…

With what he accomplished at those two spots, imagine what he will do at Alabama. The name "Alabama" is enough just to get the attention of anyone in the college football world.

Fickell will eventually take…

Fickell will eventually take Day's HC job at oSU. Last time he was there just wasn't his time. Second time will be.

Hard to have any answer to…

Hard to have any answer to this. I would love to say JH wanted to stay at UOFM forever, but how many times have coaches said that they were not going to go anywhere else, and then turn around and do the exact opposite? Plus, with the way UOFM Pres, Santa Ono, and the UOFM fans showed how much they support JH, I find it hard to believe that Warde doesn't give in a little and go against what he thinks, especially with the self preservation aspect of it.

I really feel like the team is shooting itself in the foot with waiting sooooooo long to come out with their decisions. If JH leaves, I don't know if Sherrone Moore showed enough to be named the next HC. If this is true, then most, if not all, of the staff is gone. Then we will have to rebuild. Plus, if Sherrone Moore isn't the answer, we missed out with not getting a chance at Kalen DeBoer. I don't know if I can take anymore experimental years like Rich Rod or Hoke.

Yup. Feels like there is a…

Yup. Feels like there is a very good chance that they may know something that we all are only speculating (JH off to the pros)????

Hope he does good. I really…

Hope he does good. I really thought he needed another year to clear up some the issues that he had, getting the ball to receivers in stride, and from time to time he would force the ball into some really tight areas and not take his check downs. He may have a lot of issues in the pros, as the DBs will jump all over those passes.

Besides that, me being selfish, I wish he would have stuck around for another year so he could show Jaydn the ropes before he takes over. I really think that the QB room is really thin now without any of the other QBs proving anything yet. Leaves the team without a whole lot of options for next year, unless we get a late find in the portal?

This also really diminishes the chances of repeating success next year (beating oSU, Big10 Champs and NC). We needed him if we wanted a chance of building off this National Championship, and show recruits that the program is for real. This will require a lot of surprisingly good play from guys we haven't seen much from yet.

Don't blame guys for leaving, I know they need to make their's due to the physicality of the sport, but firstly I am a fan of the University. Here's to hoping my views are incorrect!

Let's hope so!!! Don't want…

I agree, at least one the…

I agree, at least one the offensive side of the ball.

Donovan Edwards should have won it. I really think he deserves a lot of credit. From my perspective, both of his big run plays were almost completely his doing. He had to reroute and go a different direction on both, and if he wouldn't have, there would have been minimal gains. Plus, those two scores were huge, and gave Michigan a mental advantage from the beginning.

On the defensive side, it is hard for me to make a solid decision. With Washington being such a "prolific" passing team, a lot of their passes were under routes or check downs, so I think maybe the deeper routes were well covered. And I don't recall who had who, but maybe Will Johnson was covering the bigger threat, and with that Penix had to abandon the primary target, and dump it low. That is something that the coaching staff had to see.

Maybe the defensive line should have gotten the MVP award? They didn't have the big numbers, but they definitely had lots of pressure on Penix, and made him have the bad game that he did.
