He's earned the right to do whatever he wants. I just hope he makes a decision quickly.

And I thought Harbaugh was to the point of not "interviewing", but rather, if you want him, come make a pitch. Didn't the Vikings treat him like some novice and put him through an interview which only woke up the beast?  I don't care who you are, you need Harbaugh more than he needs you.  Any NFL owner with interest should be scheduling a time to come to Chez Harbaugh, hat in hand, and make their best pitch.  The most diversely accomplished person in the history of football deserves no less.

I think that’s ultimately the issue.  If he’s going, it isn’t happening fast enough.  The portal has been stacked this year and we can’t make any moves because of his situation.  To make matters worse, I don’t think any team is getting stronger than OSU right now.  To make matters worse worse, if he leaves he’ll take Minter with him which means we have to replace our head coach and our best assistant in late January or February.

Oh and I’ll pass on Moore.  I’d rather have Minter.  Otherwise I hear Saban is available.

I'll also pass on Moore. Wouldn't be a terrible hire, but we're rolling,  no time for on the job training. And its his offense that WRs are leaving in droves. It's also the offense that isn't exactly helping JJs pro prospects.

I appreciate him keeping the plane from plummeting into the ocean, but that doesn't mean he can do that again and again, and it damn sure doesn't mean he can take off and land that mf.

I was hoping for Fisch.

Ur guy was here for 2 years.  Yall seriously want Fisch.  He has a 17-22 record.  You don't even know if he can recruit. I guess yall enjoy being 8-4 because that where you heading if you don't retain the staff Harbaugh set up to stay competitive for the next 3 to 4 years.

Hopefully it’ll be like that interview in Good Will Hunting  where Matt Damon sends Ben Affleck in his place and the guy just asks the interviewers to give him the cash in their pockets.

The Chargers have too many holes, the stars are past their prime.  Austin Ekeler is 28, Keenan Allen is 31.  That team is going nowhere.

Coach should stay where he has built something special...

If they didn’t have historically well-known cheap owners, they could pull a move their partners in LA did in 2021 and mortgage their future and use all of their capital to get those holes filled and try to win a Super Bowl within a 2-year window. However, I don’t see their current ownership doing that.

Also: MOVE THEM BACK TO SAN DIEGO. They had a great fan base there and a non-existent one in LA

I just hope the Spanos' fuck this up like they have so many other things since dad Alex died.

He would never have moved the team, many San Diego fans have stopped rooting for them like they did before... maybe passively.

If the team was still in San Diego, I'd be a lot more worried, we'll see.

I just have a feeling he stays, he's got things rolling in AA, leaving for an unknown and whom you have to deal with is not always appealing.

Also, the taxes in California are a mother fucker.

Since the days of Fouts & Air Coryell the Chargers have burned thru 11 head coaches.

While that might seem like ancient times it's basically 1 every 3 years.  Norv Turner was the one who lasted longest at 6 yrs.  It's not exactly a secret that the Spanos ownership are the back benchers on the JV team of the NFL.  Probably like you I WAS a Charger fan for many years but would never root for any LA team.  I was there in November when the Lions came in and won.  It was 60/40 Lions fans easy.  That is the Chargers future from here on out.  More opposing fans than yours.  Every.  Game.  Forever.

As a former life long San Diego Charger fan, I also pull for the Lions now more than the Chargers, though I do like Justin Herbert.  For what little it's worth, having lived in all 3 cities or towns, while all places have their charms,  Ann Arbor is nicer than L.A. imho, especially for raising a family.   Personally think Ann Arbor about as nice as San Diego, though much different, college town vs. large city.  Weather advantage to San Diego during winter and early spring.  From the nickel seats, would not surprise me if Coach Harbaugh interviewed with the Chargers and ultimately stayed at Michigan.   Would actually surprise me more if he leaves for the NFL. Happen to agree with others here who say it's a matter of finding and agreeing on some  mutually satisfactory contract language to protect both sides in the event of another  NCAA or B10 witch hunt.

The article indicates "rumors" and uses phrasing like "it is believed". No facts. Until actual sources report, it's still nothing but speculation and rumors.

Wrong. All of them are willing to be used by agents and front office people to perpetuate rumors to suit their needs. Then said reporters are given a treat once in a while like a loyal dog.

If the last 8 years of NFL reporting involving Harbaugh hasn’t opened your eyes to the sleazy nature of all NFL reporters, there’s no help for you.

JH's current contract runs through 2026.  While it would be ideal getting him signed to a new contract ASAP, it isn't like it expires on Monday at midnight.

You might be right and you know what? You might be wrong, too. Again, here we are with speculation vs fact. No one knows what JH is going to do until he let's everyone else know. I'll go back to my original statement: until we have more verified sources, it's just noise right now. Same with the current contract rumors.

And if we want to keep speculating instead of focusing on what we do know, you didn't even mention why the current rumor in regards to the hold up on the new contract signing: he wants to be at Michigan but wants protection from a fallout from a show cause.

Nah, I don’t think we should be reporting that they’re interviewing when the two sides haven’t even talked yet. Has nothing to do with being in denial. It’s simply irresponsible journalism to report things that aren’t actually happening.

Once they set up an interview, it’s fine to report on that. Claiming there’s an interview when the two sides haven’t even spoken, is just bush league journalism

I hope you stretched before you're made that reach or you're going to hurt yourself.

Please show me he has an interview this week with the Chargers. Did you even read the article or do you just read headlines? The headline doesn't match the content of the article at all but you're over here making wild assumptions about what I am saying? Good Lord.

This entire headline is built off of the following sentence from a clickbait nfl.com article:

"Sources say it's believed the Chargers will speak next week with Harbaugh, who has indicated to associates there's a real possibility he could leave the University of Michigan to become Los Angeles' head coach"

So, again, zero actual new news. Hopefully, my comment can save people a few clicks getting to what's behind the headline.
