Thought the lights were nice. A bit much at times — no reason to flash them for that long postgame, or after a made field goal. But overall a nice game day atmosphere boost and the players liked them.
I actually saw them deliver some schedule posters to the Athletic Department offices today. They get distributed internally and if there are extras, they will end up at the ticket office
They were used more than you'd expect — any 3:30 p.m. game, for example, plus various practices and other non-football events.
Fun fact: ESPN paid for the old lights to be installed. So they really were no cost to Michigan, and probably saved some money since U-M used to have to rent lights and install them every time they had a mid-afternoon game.
Madison is great! I lived there for 2+ years, and it's my favorite Big Ten town. (Sorry, A2!)
- The absolute classic is to grab a bucket of beers at the Memorial Union Terrace, overlooking the lake at sunset. Sometimes they have live music or other things going on there as well.
- The Farmer's Market around the capital on Saturday mornings is a huge attraction as well.
- Madison is incredibly bike / running friendly, with paved paths around the lakes and all throughout the city. A fun way to get to know the area, if that's something you're into.
- The Old Fashioned on the square is an easy recommendation for visitors.
- I've heard that it's maybe not quite as great since the pandemic, but State Street is closed to most vehicular traffic. It's lined with fun stores.
- New Glarus beer is only available in Wisconsin. Bring back a case in your car ... or you can buy it post-security at MSN airport.
- If you're flying out of MSN on Monday, be prepared for crowds of affluent 20-somethings who all work for Epic Systems, just graduated college, are overworked and make a lot of money. I was once one of them.

"It's great to be a Florida Gator" is one that comes to mind.
Quick edit, found a Quora post that suggest the origin was Auburn -
"My wife and I went to the 1984 Sugar Bowl, when Michigan played Auburn. (The Wolverines didn’t give up a touchdown but still lost, 9–7, but I digress.) Auburn fans had a chant, “It’s great to be an Auburn Tiger.” I think Michigan fans brought the Wolverine version back home with them."
Probably one of those things that started and spread without too much documentation
For any Michigan students: Jim Hackett (and soon, Warde Manuel) hold semi-regular fireside chats to answer questions and take feedback from students. They're one change the Athletic Department has made to eliminate the disconnect that existed between the administration and students.

I have not yet seen it be open to the public but will ask U-M staff next time I'm at a press conference there

This is a great preview for the real Champions League match tonight between Seattle and Pumas.
I kid (sort of), but the Champions League has delivered this year and I love it.
Love that Fox Sports just cut back to the studio ... they know that no one tuned in to watch Cirque du Soleil

Hey @Othernel,
Where in Costa Rica did you watch the game? I'm there now and looking for a place for the weekend. Thanks!
Yes — she is the winningest coach in the history of Michigan athletics.
